Chapter 93: Chapter 90: Trade and Completion

Returning to the laboratory, Chen Shang opened his crystal plate and saw that his information had been updated:

[Chen Shang, Starfall Laboratory Second Level Apprentice, Constitution 66, Spirit 70, Magic Power 133. (Additional Second Magic Spring.) Official Member of the Elemental Storm Association...]

Just as he put down the crystal plate, Golden Crow flew up from the operating table and landed on his shoulder, flapping its wings non-stop.

"Boss! Boss! Surtr won in the arena today. His opponent was a black panther. It was super fierce, and its eyes were completely white with no pupils. It looked pretty creepy..."

"Get to the point," Chen Shang said expressionlessly, reaching out to pinch Golden Crow’s beak shut.

Golden Crow struggled for a moment, caught its breath, and continued, "Surtr used Three Heads and Six Arms, and then used Samadhi True Flame to beat that black panther until there wasn’t even a speck of dust left! The whole crowd went wild! I shouted until my voice went hoarse!"

It gestured with its claws as it spoke, acting as if it had won the fight itself.

Chen Shang rolled his eyes, ignoring Golden Crow’s clamoring. He walked over to the Temperature-Controlled District and patted Surtr, who was lying in its nest. "You’ve already grasped the basics of the Samadhi True Flame? Well done."

Receiving the praise, Surtr was thrilled, and the cracks on its body glowed even brighter.

Golden Crow finally got to the point. "A First Level Wizard wants to add you as a friend."

"Oh? Something like that?" Chen Shang picked up his crystal plate and accepted the friend request.

Victor’s reply came quickly, almost instantly, and he cut straight to the chase. "I’m very interested in your flame. What do you want?"

Chen Shang pondered for a few breaths before typing his reply: "I need an Eye of the Elements of equal value. Preferably of the Water or Fire Attribute. Other elements are also acceptable."

He put down the crystal plate and began to wait. The other party did not reply immediately.

Chen Shang’s proposed exchange was carefully considered. For instance, if the other party gave him an Eye of the Fire Element, he could both upgrade his Samadhi True Flame and complete his Eye of True Sight. If he were given an Eye of the Water Element, he could create a synergistic effect with his Samadhi True Flame, as well as complete his Eye of True Sight. Either way, it wouldn’t be a loss. It wasn’t that he was taking advantage of the situation; rather, his personal abilities allowed a single resource to be utilized in multiple ways.

The crystal plate soon vibrated. Victor replied, "I have something related to the Water Elemental Eye. I agree to the exchange. It’s best if we talk in person. Where are you?"

Chen Shang sent over the address of the Starfall Laboratory. In less than an hourglass’s time, Victor teleported over.

A man wearing a deep blue robe with the crest of the Mechanical Throne pinned to his chest stood at the entrance of the laboratory. He was a First Level Wizard, looking to be in his early thirties, with a slender build. His eyes were dark gray, his gaze gentle yet sharp. There were no attendants behind him; he only carried a palm-sized metal case in his hand.

"Chen Shang?" he asked, nodding slightly.

"Master, please come in," Chen Shang said, stepping aside to let him enter.

Victor sat down in a chair. Without any pleasantries or observing the laboratory’s environment, he directly opened the metal case.

Inside the case lay a teardrop-shaped object, which was not a common Alchemy Material. It was translucent, with liquid flowing slowly inside. Its color gradient transitioned from light blue to deep blue, looking like a solidified drop of seawater. At the same time, it emitted a faint glow. The light was pale, but it made the air in the entire laboratory become moist.

"This is the Heart of the Water Spirit from the Blue Realm," Victor introduced. "The Blue Realm is a pure Water Elemental Plane. When the native creatures there die, the Water Elemental Cores within their bodies condense into this type of crystal.

"This Heart of the Water Spirit is the relic of an Ancient Water Spirit among them. Sealed within it is all of its perception regarding the Water Element.

"We Wizards call this type of thing the Water Elemental Eye, while over there, they call it the Water Spirit Realm."

Chen Shang reached out and touched the surface of the teardrop with his fingertip. It felt ice-cold to the touch, and then his panel vibrated.

"Extract!" he thought.

He also opened his Eye of True Sight, pretending to casually glance over Victor.

Chen Shang silently commanded the extraction. Ultimately, only Mechanical Resonance fell into his hands. He was not disappointed, as he truly knew very little about the mechanical aspect. Being able to snag even one was a profit.

"It’s a good item. I agree to the exchange," Chen Shang said, raising his head. "However, we need the Wizard’s Will to measure its value."

Victor nodded. "Of course, no problem!"

He raised his hand and drew a Rune in the air. An avatar of the Wizard’s Will soon appeared—a bright silver figure holding a set of scales in its hand.

Chen Shang placed his prepared Samadhi True Fire Crystal Plate onto the left tray, while Victor placed the teardrop onto the right tray.

The scales swayed. The left tray sank down, and the right tray floated up. The shift was drastic, a difference clearly visible to the naked eye.

Looking at the scales, Chen Shang said, "Master, what I have is knowledge, which holds a higher priority."

Victor fell silent for a moment before suddenly smiling. "It’s not just the priority. The intrinsic value of your flame is high." However, there wasn’t a hint of displeasure in his smile; on the contrary, he seemed extremely happy.
