Chapter 546: Chapter 390: Divine Abomination? Divine Race

Although the ceremony itself was a failure, its concept was quite interesting, and Isaac managed to learn a few things from it.

However, the greatest reward was that Isaac managed to reconstruct the original Divine Abomination Refining Ceremony. He had wanted this ceremony for a very long time, but unfortunately, the Flesh Sect and the Truth Association were worried he would cause trouble. They kept holding up his requests, denying him access to any related materials.

Well, now his wish was finally granted!

For others, the Divine Abomination Refining Ceremony might be a massive trap, a last-ditch gamble for the desperate. But for Isaac, as long as the success rate wasn’t zero, it was a guaranteed success!

The only difference was how many additional resources it would cost.

A Divine Abomination Follower...

’Just thinking about it is exciting!’

Suppressing his excitement, Isaac gave the sky one last glance before heading toward the little boy. He had learned everything he wanted to know; there was no longer any reason to stay.

...

"Do you want to understand the meaning of life? Do you want... to truly be alive?"

In the dilapidated wooden house, a heavily scarred Mike struggled to open his weary eyes. He looked at the man before him, who was bathed in a brilliant glow, and an unprecedented fear suddenly flooded his heart.

It was his ’partners’ giving him a warning!

They... were terrified of this man!

This was a feeling Mike had never experienced. He had lived here for as long as he could remember, relying on his partners’ warnings and their incredible power. He had outlasted group after group of "neighbors," yet he had never sensed such intense fear from his companions.

Even when the increasingly bizarre neighbors who had suddenly appeared on the street banded together to deal with him, his partners hadn’t conveyed this kind of emotion. But now...

’Am I... going to die?’ Overwhelmed by extreme terror, the already weakened Mike’s thoughts grew even fuzzier.

"Yes, more or less. But I can help you survive. So, what do you say? Will you come with me?"

The man smiled faintly and slowly extended his right hand toward Mike.

In a daze, Mike watched the man extend a helping hand from within the radiance. A gentle smile touched the corners of his lips as he slowly raised his own right hand, unsure if he was reaching for the man or the light itself.

The man—Isaac—smiled at the sight. He lightly tapped the air with his right index finger, and specks of light instantly appeared. A powerful Healing Magic descended upon Mike, and the wounds on his body healed at a rate visible to the naked eye. Simultaneously, a warm aura enveloped Mike. Within this warmth, his exhausted mind was instantly set at ease, and he drifted into a deep sleep.

With a light wave of his hand, Isaac made Mike’s body float up and hover above his head. Demon Claw Harmon emerged with a ferocious snarl. The bizarre Evil Eye in its palm glanced a few times at the foolish Spirit Bodies stirring within Mike, who seemed desperate to protect their host. A malevolent light flashed, and the Spirit Bodies instantly went dormant, falling into a deep slumber.

Harmon’s claw then opened, allowing Mike to settle into its palm. The claw gently closed, carrying Mike as it retracted back into Isaac’s body.

Jagged, ferocious ripples in the Void appeared and swallowed Isaac. In an instant, he and Mike were gone.

Meanwhile, in a corner of the Island Country, a Grey-robed Mage adjusting a Ritual Array furrowed his brow slightly. He turned to look in the direction Isaac had departed.

’The boy with multiple spirits in one body... is gone...’

It wasn’t the boy he cared about. As a proper Mad Witch, he wasn’t young like Isaac and Philo. There was nothing to be done about it; he simply hadn’t had as many miraculous encounters.

The greatest windfalls of his life had been the successive openings of the Endless Sea and the Endless Tower a few years prior. The former had been fine. Leveraging his thousands of years of accumulated resources, combined with the Mad Witch’s distinct characteristic of being a shit-smeared mop that no one dared provoke, he had moved between the major powers and made a hefty profit.

And now, he even had the resources to conduct a Divine Abomination Refining Ceremony.

The latter, however, was not as fortunate...

’It was like meeting the love of your life when you’re at your most helpless...’

The grand prize of the Endless Tower was a one-tier advancement. Ordinarily, this would be incredibly tempting for a Tier Four Legendary Mage. After all, unlike Knights and Arcanists who rely on combat experience and Knowledge, a Legendary Mage with their Lifebound Witchcraft will awaken their own exclusive Legendary Magic upon promotion.

Their combat prowess would skyrocket!

But... unfortunately, he was a Mad Witch.

A Mad Witch faces a deadly tribulation when advancing to Tier Five... and he was not yet prepared. So, even though he had the ability to complete the Trial, he had no motivation to do so...

As for using the Trial World as a testing ground...

To be honest, it was somewhat useful, but not by much.

As a veteran Tier Four Mad Witch, he had already mastered the art of finding Little Worlds in the Boundless Void to use for his experiments. In fact, his method was even safer; he was perfectly capable of arranging his experiments from outside a world, with no need to put himself at risk.

Still, despite his lack of miraculous encounters, as a Mad Witch who had lived for thousands of years, he had his own share of resources, especially when it came to Followers. A being with multiple spirits in one body was rare, but in all his years, he had encountered such things before. For him, it wasn’t particularly precious.

The reason he’d paid any mind to the boy was because the small amount of Divine Power in his body was laced with a large amount of the Power of the Evil God—power that was full of backdoors. It was no exaggeration to say the boy was a walking dirty bomb.
