Eric stared at Evan for a few seconds before finally speaking.

"Fine. Tell me, what do you want?"

Evan’s lips arched upward when Eric took the bait, and he shook his head.

"It’s not about what I want..." He said in a calm voice. "Since you are the one challenging me, tell me what you are willing to offer so I can decide whether to accept your challenge and gamble an epic grade artifact or simply ignore you and go about my business."

Liam’s mouth twitched when he heard Evan’s words and he sighed.

"The plundering has finally begun..." He said in a low voice.

"I almost feel bad for this guy. He might never recover from the trauma of sparring against this monster," Kevin said sympathetically.

Eric stared at Evan for a moment and narrowed his eyes.

’Since so many students, including Alice, are watching, I can’t offer something insignificant.’

Suddenly, he remembered something, and a smile appeared on his face as he took an item out of his Storage Ring.

"All right. If you defeat me in a spar, I will give you this," Eric said, holding up a folded white piece of paper.

"What is this?" Evan looked at the paper and asked with a frown.

He had expected Eric to offer an artifact or something similar, but the guy was holding out a piece of paper instead.

Seeing Evan’s expression, Eric smirked.

"It’s a recommendation letter for the main academy on Planet Agroth."

Evan was confused by Eric’s words, but Alice’s expression and those of the surrounding students changed dramatically when they heard what the piece of paper was.

Before Evan could ask what this so-called recommendation letter was, Alice tugged at his sleeve and spoke hurriedly.

"Accept it quickly before he changes his mind!"

Hearing the urgency in Alice’s voice and seeing the shocked expressions of the others, Evan realized that the letter was definitely something valuable.

He quickly nodded and said, "All right, I accept your challenge. But let’s fight tomorrow. I’m busy right now."

Eric smiled when Evan accepted his challenge and put away the white paper.

"All right. We’ll fight tomorrow in the academy’s sparring arena."

After saying this, Eric glanced at Alice once more and left with a pleased smile on his face.

Seeing that there was no more drama to watch, the other students also began leaving one after another.

However, even as they walked away, they couldn’t help discussing Evan’s upcoming match against Eric.

"Do you think that human will actually show up to fight Eric?"

"I don’t know. Maybe he’s just bluffing and will return to his own planet tonight."

"That’s true. Eric is already a Rank Two Evolver, and that human isn’t even Level 50. He doesn’t stand a chance against Eric."

"Yeah, if I were in his place, I’d also agree to fight outwardly, but once nobody was watching, I’d run away with those boots. After all, if he loses to Eric, he’ll have to hand over those Epic-Grade boots."

Evan heard the students’ nonsense but didn’t care about their opinions. Instead, he turned toward Liam and the others and asked curiously, "What exactly is that recommendation letter?"

Kevin took a deep breath before explaining seriously.

"It’s a recommendation letter from the main academy on Planet Agroth. One way to obtain such a letter is by donating a large amount of resources to the academy. Think of it as sponsoring rare resources in exchange for certain benefits."

He paused briefly before continuing.

"If you use that recommendation letter, it’ll be much easier for you to join the main academy. Even if you haven’t completed many tasks at the sub-academy, you can still join the main academy without much trouble, provided you demonstrate decent talent."

"Not only that..." Alice continued. "If you enter the main academy using a recommendation letter, you’ll gain the privilege of accessing certain rare training grounds and resources that are otherwise very difficult for ordinary students to use. In fact, even if you have sufficient resources, obtaining a recommendation letter from the academy is extremely difficult."

Evan couldn’t help raising an eyebrow when he heard their explanations and looked at Alice curiously.

"Since this recommendation letter is such a good thing, why don’t you have one? Considering your background, I don’t think it’d be difficult for you to obtain one, right?"

Alice smiled at Evan’s question and shrugged.

"Who said I don’t have one? It’s just that I chose not to enter the main academy using it because I wanted to go there with Erza and the others. Although the main academy is a good place, the things you have to do there are equally dangerous. My mother told me to go there with my friends so we could look after one another."

A look of understanding flashed across Evan’s eyes, and he couldn’t help asking another question.

"According to you, obtaining a recommendation letter from the main academy is extremely difficult, even if you donate a lot of resources. Then how the hell did a moron like him get one? Don’t tell me his family is that powerful?"

"His family is actually quite powerful..." Erza nodded before lowering her voice. "But not powerful enough to obtain a recommendation letter on their own. I heard that his uncle is a teacher at the main academy, so he must have obtained the letter through him."

"So his uncle went to a lot of trouble to get him a recommendation letter, and now he’s gambling it away..." Evan shook his head before smiling.

"Anyway, I don’t care who gave him the letter. But can I still use it after winning it from him? After all, it was originally given to him."

"Don’t worry. If you win that letter in a fair duel, you can use it without any problems," Alice assured him.

"That’s good, then." Evan nodded and looked toward the back of the academy.

"Let’s go. I still want to see what good things are available in the academy market."
