World Evolution: Starting With The Wind Monarch
Chapter 159: Danger Sense
"Finally, we are safe..." Liam sighed in relief after leaving the shop. "Looking at Grandpa Josh’s face, I was afraid he would beat the hell out of us!"
Kevin and the others nodded, as they had been feeling the same way.
"Seriously, anyone would be pissed if you demanded a discount like that," Evan muttered in a low voice, feeling speechless about the way they had obtained the discount.
He had actually thought they would simply ask for a discount, but their method had been completely different. It was no different from robbing that poor old man.
Just as they were talking, Alice stopped and said, "You guys can look around the market yourselves. Chancellor Flora contacted me at noon, so I need to go see her."
Kevin raised an eyebrow when he heard Alice’s words and chuckled.
"She must be wondering why we returned from the dungeon so early."
Alice nodded upon hearing him.
"I think so too. She probably thinks we used Exit Stones instead of conquering the dungeon. The reason she contacted me must be that she wants to know why we failed to conquer it."
Erza’s eyes lit up with interest, and she hugged Alice’s arm.
"I’ll come with you. I want to see the Chancellor’s reaction."
"Alright," Alice replied without refusing and after saying goodbye to the others, the two of them left.
"What should we do now?" Liam asked once they were gone.
"Why don’t we look around? We might find something interesting," Kevin suggested.
Evan and Liam nodded, and the three of them began exploring the academy market.
While browsing through the stalls, Evan suddenly remembered something and asked, "I have been wondering about something for quite some time. When I was teleported into the Skeleton Graveyard Dungeon, I spent three days there. However, when I returned to Planet Zarth, three weeks had passed. Does time flow at a different speed inside that dungeon?"
"Yes..." Kevin nodded at his question. "The Skeleton Graveyard is a special dungeon. The time flow inside it is 1:7. If you spend just one day inside, seven days will pass in the outside world."
He paused for a moment before continuing.
"No one knows the exact reason behind this time difference. Many Rune Masters have entered the Skeleton Graveyard Dungeon to investigate whether there are any time-related runes responsible for this phenomenon, but they haven’t found anything."
Evan listened to Kevin’s explanation, and his eyes couldn’t help but gleam slightly.
’A time difference of one to seven...’ He muttered inwardly, feeling extremely surprised.
Just as he was thinking, Liam suddenly spoke.
"I think I have found something you’ll like."
"Hmm?" Evan looked at Liam and saw him heading toward a stall where a male High Elf was sitting.
Evan and Kevin exchanged glances before following him.
"Hey, Rio! What’s up?" Liam greeted the elf as he approached the stall.
"Just selling some ordinary stuff. What are you doing here?" Rio, the male High Elf, asked when he saw Liam.
"Nothing. I just noticed you’re selling something good," Liam said, picking up a skill scroll from the stall.
He examined it for a moment before handing it to Evan.
Evan looked at the skill scroll, and its details appeared before him.
---) Danger Sense (Rank One, Level 5 Passive Skill): A passive skill that greatly enhances your perception and warns you of possible danger you might encounter.
Evan had heard of Danger Sense before. It was a common skill that dropped in most dungeons.
Despite being relatively common, many Evolvers learned it because it could save their lives by alerting them to potential dangers.
"I don’t think you’ve learned this passive skill yet. It’s quite useful when facing enemies, so you should learn it," Liam said after Evan finished reading the details.
Evan nodded and looked at Rio.
"How much for this skill scroll?"
"Since it’s a pretty common skill, fifty Rank One Mana Cores will do."
Evan didn’t haggle over the price, as fifty Mana Cores was indeed a fair price.
"Here." He handed over thirty Rank One Mana Cores and crushed the Danger Sense skill scroll.
[You have learned Rank One, Level 5 Passive Skill ’Danger Sense’.]
After learning the skill, Evan stared at Liam for a few seconds before nodding.
"What?" Liam asked in confusion, taken aback by Evan’s actions.
"It’s nothing," Evan replied, shaking his head. "I was just checking whether this skill was working or not."
Liam raised an eyebrow upon hearing Evan’s words.
"And how did you check that?"
Evan smiled and looked at him with an amused expression.
"I just looked at you and didn’t sense any danger. If this skill had warned me of danger from you, who’s so weak, it would’ve meant that the skill was a scam. But I didn’t sense any danger when I looked at you, which means the skill is working just fine."
Black lines appeared on Liam’s forehead, and the corner of his mouth twitched.
"The skill didn’t make you sense danger because I wasn’t showing any aggression toward you! And I’m not weak. It’s just that you’re a freak!"
Evan chuckled and shook his head. He glanced at the stall and, seeing that there was nothing else of interest, left with Kevin and Liam.
The three of them continued exploring the academy market, hoping to find something interesting.
A few minutes later, Kevin pointed to the side.
"There’s your Recording Crystal."
Evan and the others headed toward the stall, and Evan purchased the Recording Crystal.
Since it was just an ordinary crystal that could record things, it wasn’t nearly as expensive as a Communication Crystal. It cost only three hundred Mana Cores.
They continued looking around the market for other things but didn’t find anything else worth buying.
Around an hour later, they decided to head back.
Once they reached their rooms, Liam looked at Evan and reminded him, "Don’t be late tomorrow for your match."
Evan nodded and returned to his room without saying anything.
He sat down on his bed and took an egg out of his Storage Ring.
It was the same egg he had obtained in the Castle of Lizardmen Dungeon. He had been feeding it his blood every day, but it still hadn’t shown any signs of hatching.
"Little guy, when will you come out?" Evan murmured, making a small cut in his palm.
As blood began to flow from the wound, he placed his palm against the egg, which immediately started absorbing his blood.
After about a minute, the egg stopped absorbing his blood, and Evan placed it back inside his Storage Ring.
He lay down on the bed, and as he thought about his match against Eric tomorrow, the corners of his lips curled upward.
’I wonder if that guy will be able to last longer than that Wyvern.’
