At this moment, the King was utterly disappointed in this woman. It seemed that no matter what he said, she would never confess. The only way was for him to investigate it himself and recover his own memories of everything.

Ovillette looked at Quentin Blackwood and Ivy Sherwood. “I will likely remain quite busy over the next couple of days. Let the Princess continue to be your guest here.”

Perhaps out of consideration for their many years together, Ovillette couldn’t bring himself to deal the final blow to the Princess. But as long as he wasn’t watching, Quentin and the others could do as they pleased with her.

“Of course,” Quentin said. “We’ll be sure to entertain the Princess well.” He deliberately emphasized the word “entertain” with a casual lightness.

Hearing it, however, made the Princess tremble in fear. She crawled to Ovillette’s feet. “Husband, please don’t! I really didn’t do anything. Don’t leave me with them.”

The Princess knew that Ivy firmly believed her mother’s death was connected to her. Ivy would definitely not let her off the hook; she would torture her to death.

“Where is Ayre? I want to see Ayre!” Ayre was her younger brother; he would definitely help her. Hoping that Ayre would step in to save her, she looked at Ivy again. “Aren’t you friends with Ayre? By treating me like this, aren’t you letting him down?”

“In our country, emotional blackmail doesn’t work. You’ve committed so many crimes, yet you still expect to be let go,” Zion Landon interjected. “Have you ever considered that if Mr. Ayre knew what you’ve done, he’d consider having a sister like you a disgrace?” He was just an outsider anyway, so he spoke his mind freely.

“No, Ayre wouldn’t do that,” the Princess shook her head.

Ovillette walked straight out, and Quentin and Ivy followed behind him.

The Princess scrambled up and tried to follow, but she was blocked by the bodyguards. She shoved at them. “Let go of me! Let go of me!”

Ivy, having taken a few steps forward, stopped in her tracks. “Oh, by the way, Princess, I forgot to tell you—this place actually seems to be haunted. Enjoy your stay here.”

The haunting was fake, of course, but it would serve to scare the Princess. Since her mother’s death was tied to this woman, Ivy could not let it go so easily. Unfortunately, given the Princess’s status, Ivy couldn’t just kill her outright. All she could do was leave the Princess here to torment herself. The props they had prepared, including the fleeting visual projections, were still functional. This meant the Princess was in for a very rough time.

As the Princess looked at Ivy’s expression, it was as if Winter Mercer herself were speaking.

“Shut up! Shut up!”

But Ivy had already left with Quentin, who had been waiting for her while she spoke.

The Princess was still cursing behind them, her eyes bloodshot and filled with madness.

“I killed you once, and I can kill you a second time!” The Princess was completely disheveled, looking like an utter lunatic.

Once they were outside, Ovillette didn’t look too well. It seemed he still couldn’t accept what had just transpired.

“My house is quite large. Mr. Ovillette, why don’t you stay with us?” Quentin offered.

“I also bought a house a while back,” Ivy added. “You’re welcome to stay at my place too, Mr. Ovillette.”

Ovillette shook his head. “Thank you both, but I’ll just stay at a hotel.”

It was clear that Ovillette needed some time alone to process things. Quentin didn’t press the matter. He simply had a hotel suite arranged and asked Zion Landon to accompany Ovillette, ensuring there would be someone to look after him if anything happened.

Davi, who had been shivering in fear nearby, was also taken away by Ovillette when he left. Davi definitely knew the truth of what had happened over the years.

Ivy and Quentin headed back together as well. As soon as they left, Quentin contacted Zane Linton in Lustre. He ordered Zane to track down Jason Summers, locate him at all costs, and apprehend him immediately without showing any mercy.

Quentin also sent a copy of the video they had just recorded straight to the Mercer Family.

After watching it, Miles Mercer cursed aloud, “That animal!”

Calling him an animal was an understatement. He was worse than beasts; Jason Summers simply didn’t deserve to live in this world.

“Brother, every time I think about calling him Uncle Summers, I want to slap myself. We respected him so much, and what did he do? He colluded with outsiders to murder Aunt Winter!”

Miles simply couldn’t get over this hurdle. Aunt Winter’s passing had brought so much suffering to their family. Their grandfather had been devastated for a long time afterward, and Ivy had suffered so many grievances as a result. The worst part was, after murdering Aunt Winter, how could this man have the audacity to appear before them so self-righteously? He even put on a facade of deep affection, claiming that Ivy was his daughter!

If Ivy really was his daughter, Miles didn’t even dare to imagine how Jason had forced himself upon Aunt Winter back then.

The mere thought of it made him want to rip Jason Summers’s head off and kick it like a ball!

“No, I have to go find him right now. I’m going to drag Jason Summers back here!” Although Miles had become much more composed recently, he simply couldn’t stay calm when it came to this matter.

They had a rough idea of where Jason Summers was, but by the time they rushed over, they bumped right into Zane Linton and his men.

“Young Master Mercer, we’re a step too late. He’s already gone.”

“Jason Summers left on a private jet a while ago. According to our leads, he’s likely heading toward Aethelgard.” This was the intel Zane’s team had managed to dig up.

Miles’s face filled with worry. “Then he must be going after Ivy! He’s definitely plotting to target her!

“Brother, let’s go to Aethelgard too, or we should bring Ivy back here. We’re all in Lustre, and Grandpa is here too. Surely Jason Summers wouldn’t be bold enough to make a move against all of us at once?”

Miles felt a deep sense of unease. Whether they went to Aethelgard or Ivy returned to Lustre, the whole family needed to stick together. Back then, they had been too young to protect Aunt Winter. Now, regarding the only gift Aunt Winter had left in this world, they absolutely could not let anything happen to Ivy.

“Don’t panic just yet. Let’s see what Quentin’s situation is,” his older brother replied.

Zane, who was just about to report to Quentin, happened to explain everything to him.

No one had suspected Jason Summers of anything before, which had given him the perfect opportunity to slip away. Jason Summers had already arrived in Aethelgard. If he kept a low profile and didn’t slip up, the situation would be highly dangerous.

It was equivalent to them being in the light while Jason was hiding in the dark. No matter how you looked at it, they were the ones in greater danger. Furthermore, Ivy’s due date was fast approaching, and she would soon be going through her postpartum recovery period. They couldn’t afford to be careless in the slightest. Even if they had eyes on her around the clock, if Jason Summers wanted to find a chance to strike, he would surely find one.

Therefore, under the current circumstances, the best course of action was to flush Jason Summers out. Even if it meant silencing him permanently, they had to ensure he couldn’t lift a finger to harm anyone.
