Chapter 730: 4 Academies, 4 Boss Monsters - 3

The Vorthuun beast momentarily stopped to take a look at the newly appeared huge beast, which not only overshadowed it by nearly quadruple its size but also had the capability to fly.

GRRROOOOOHHHHHH!!!

All of a sudden, it released a massive amount of heat from its body alongside the ear-deafening roar.

SHRIEEEEEK!

Solvyr roared back, releasing the same kind of radiating heat, though it was slightly lower-tier than Vorthuun’s. Together, their effects burned a radius of almost 500 meters in flames almost instantly.

In an instant, every tree in the surrounding area was charred and turned into ashes, and the ground near Vorthuun almost melted into magma.

Then the beast’s eyes glowed yellow instead of orange, and the bridge Leo had collapsed earlier began to form again.

This time, it was thicker and sturdier.

Aaron, who was fighting some flame beasts, immediately ran towards the bridge, cleaving any beast in his path before smashing his greatsword into the ground right where the bridge originated.

A shockwave was generated, which greatly loosened the base forming bridge. He doubled the effect after summoning his Shardfall Warden Beast.

When other flame beasts tried to attack him, Nyxa appeared in their path to intercept them. She used her [Astral Legion Manifestation] skill to increase her manpower and counterattack even more fiercely.

Soon, Leo started receiving a string of kill notifications that he ignored, as there was no experience gain.

Sylrael, who was riding Uraan’s raven in the sky, shot her wood-element-infused arrows all across the formed bridge’s base surface, and the next moment, rapid vines started digging into the stone, breaking apart the already loosened rocks and making the bridge collapse yet again.

"Hahahah, looks like I got my job for now!" Aaron said enthusiastically while chugging a mana regeneration potion.

He even fed some to Shardfall Warden because interfering with a structure made by a Low 5-star being was no joke.

In fact, he wouldn’t have been able to do it at all if Leo and Solvyr weren’t attracting 90% of its attention while it stayed almost a kilometre behind.

GRRROOOOHHHHH!!!

The large beast roared again when Solvyr wrapped its long serpentine body around it, making movement difficult. The heat from Solvyr’s spirit body even began melting the obsidian armour it touched.

00:51:29

Leo narrowed his eyes after seeing the time.

It would be very easy to hold the beast back until the time was up, but killing it was an entirely different feat.

He turned his head back towards the beast’s location, only to see the Infernal Tempest Amphithere using both of its heads to fire concentrated infernal breath from both of its mouths directly at Vorthuun’s face, making the beast struggle to recover.

Since Solvyr was a spirit, any attempt at a physical attack failed terribly, and any elemental attacks, which were again fire-based, only strengthened him further because he himself was fire-based.

The rest of the serpentine body wrapped around the beast was already melting the obsidian armour. Though the damage was minimal, it was enough that Leo’s strikes would make Vorthuun feel them internally.

"I guess I have no choice," Leo muttered and contacted Fruder through the mental link.

"Fruder, use the Frostfall Domain Artefact centred around the boss beast."

Leo wanted it to be saved for when they attacked the dragons, but if he wanted to kill the boss beast, he needed to splurge a bit.

Not to mention, the domain had a range of 5 kilometres, meaning it would cover all of the other beasts, and since they were fire-type, it would be crippling for them.

Also, sudden cold on heated obsidian would be enough to make the armour brittle, giving Leo an advantage.

Fruder didn’t hesitate for a single second. He opened the tab, selected the region, and clicked deploy.

Leo suddenly felt something mark him as a wave of energy ran around his body. The same effect appeared on all the other students and their beasts.

He understood it must be a measure to keep the domain from harming them, and then it happened.

The heat in the area rapidly began to cool.

The boss beast immediately noticed the shift and looked away. Even as Solvyr breathed flame right over its face, it ignored it and rolled its eyes.

Its eyes narrowed.

Though things weren’t clear through the [Mist Shroud], it felt the change in the environment.

GRRROOOO!!

Extremely hot wind blew through the surrounding area, and with it came a rain of fire. However, the flames cooled in the sky when they hit the snow in the atmosphere, thus unable to cause any meaningful damage.

When the beast increased the intensity enough to affect people in the cooling region, Lily initiated heavy rain.

Combined with the heavy snowfall and fire rain trying to cover the region, it created a stupid, chaotic kind of climate that wasn’t suited to any being.

Lily even went away for a while to bring Hydra from the acid lake up to the ground. It had turned back to its quadrupled form, which was around 27 meters tall.

She did that because she couldn’t keep the rainfall going for long, since Solvyr would also be affected—he wasn’t immune to Lily’s attacks like he was to the snow from [Frostfall Domain].

In other words, she needed a direct water-element counter, which was the Hydra.

And though Hydra was just half the size of Vorthuun, it didn’t back down.

It had actually grown another head willingly, using the first for water-based attacks and the second for its Netherblight Poison.

Lily was already unleashing constant [Black Lightning] with Peak 4-star intensity from the sky while also using other elemental attacks at equal intervals.

The [Frostfall Domain] conjured pointed ice pillars beneath the boss beast, continuously striking and cracking its weakened armour.

And finally, there was Leo.

His heavy physical strikes didn’t even bother with the weakened armour and simply broke through to the main body, making the beast wince. Even more so when Hydra filled the exposed wound with Netherblight Poison.

Uraan, who was flying through the skies and dropping explosives on the flame beasts, was speechless upon seeing the boss area.

Even when the whole area was covered in mist, he could see the constant black lightning strikes coming down without rest—each enough to one-shot him—then the missed water beams shooting out of the mist, plus that concentrated acid, combined with the dull, heavy thuds of Leo’s physical strikes.

And lastly, the beast’s pained roars, which only grew louder by the second.

"They won’t actually kill the beast within the time frame, right?"

He muttered in a lost voice, then shook his head, brought out another set of explosives above the falcon’s back, and flew across the fire beasts to drop them.
