"Tell me, Sid, why is there no use in it"

"It has to do with the energy source, my liege, for up until now we haven’t discovered a proper source of energy, and all we’ve been relying on so far is the energy produced from monster cores to power important arrays, or Primes to power extremely critical arrays like the Defense array" Sid explained in general terms, then began to elaborate...

"As for the energy produced from monster cores, my liege, it’s a thoroughly impractical thing, and we only use it for matters of the utmost importance, such as using it to power the Defense array before you arrived, my liege" Sid explained his viewpoint on the first point, for as he saw it, the energy produced from monster cores wouldn’t be able to keep pace with the amount of daily work if these vehicles were manufactured.

The energy produced from monster cores faced several problems... the most important of them three.

First, the amount that could be extracted from a single core was an extremely tiny quantity, barely extractable, before the core would break down and begin evaporating, wasting whatever energy remained within it.

Someone might ask, then why don’t they just hunt many more monsters to increase that quantity... and here we come to the third problem.

In that war that took place nine months ago, the Defense array built by the Tree of Cradle from the ancient era was reinforced with energy extracted from tens of millions of monster cores, a quantity that had been prepared over dozens of centuries... but all that quantity was consumed in that war!

If the elves today wanted to produce another quantity of energy like that, they would need at the very least to hunt down every single monster in the Forest of Light region within days and extract their cores, which would cause widespread extinction... and this was something they wouldn’t allow!

As for the more dangerous problem, and the more important reason behind why the elves, or any other kingdom, don’t rely on monster cores for training to increase one’s level, or as a primary energy source for arrays, it’s the most widely known and understood problem among both the public and specialists... namely, the problem of energy turbulence!

Monster energy is extremely turbulent and cannot be easily absorbed, and if someone training to increase their level were to absorb it, it would cause them numerous obstacles due to the turbulent energy contained within the monster core’s energy... and they would need a great deal of time to purify their core again from that turbulent energy... or, in the worst cases, it would cause complete paralysis of both the body and the core.

As for using it to power arrays, the turbulent energy accumulates slowly inside that array, and if it isn’t periodically purified, it will destroy that array!

"As for Primes, my liege, it would be a huge waste to use it on something as simple as this!" Sid finished his words and stepped back slightly, awaiting Vaelor’s answer...

Vaelor scratched his chin a little, thinking about these problems...

Sid was right, those cores couldn’t be relied upon. And if there was anything to rely on them for, it was exchanging them for Primes in the Eternal Night Heaven... but even this wasn’t practical either, for intensive monster hunting would lead to the destruction of the ecosystem, and the repercussions would be far worse than the profits!

That bastard Rios had been heading toward a campaign to literally exterminate every monster in the region in order to obtain their cores, without any regard for the consequences that would follow, but fortunately, the Titan Anar attacked the City of Light at that time, forcing Rios to halt his campaign and retreat to defend the City of Light.

There was a solution to this problem, namely establishing farms for certain types of monsters and breeding them, then harvesting their cores after each period. This was something most empires in the universe did, even the Immortal ones... but such a project needed a great deal of time, and it might serve as a long-term plan and a primary source of income, but it couldn’t be relied upon at the current moment.

As for the Primes, Sid had been strongly correct about them — a single Prime could raise a warrior all the way to the Third Level, and he certainly wouldn’t put it into a truck to have it consumed in a single day... especially since his land was beginning to expand and the banks would open tomorrow, and his Prime consumption would multiply a thousandfold!

There were, of course, other energy sources such as solar energy, fossil energy, nuclear energy, and electrical energy, which the elves and other races had discovered before, but these energies weren’t useful to them in any way whatsoever.

All these energies would have been an enormous fortune for any ordinary human kingdom, but here, where everyone walks the path of laws, and arrays depend on laws in their creation, the energy everyone relies on in these civilizations is cosmic energy... or what’s known as Aether!

"What about the Astrol, what have you found regarding it so far!" Vaelor looked at Jaco and asked.

"We’ve been searching for a month already, with all the strength we can muster, for that thing called Astrol, but we haven’t found anything yet, my liege!" Supervisor Jaco bowed toward Vaelor, apologizing regretfully, feeling somewhat anxious.

A month ago, when King Vaelor had given them all those techniques, things, and knowledge about metals and other matters, he had specifically told them to search for this Astrol, telling them it would transform the kingdom’s outlook a hundred and eighty degrees... but they had searched diligently throughout the past month, yet hadn’t come up with anything new... all they had discovered were a few mines belonging to other metals.

"Mm!"

Vaelor furrowed his brows for a while, then spoke to Jaco again "this pace of searching is a bit weak, we need to intensify it several times over, employ a few thousand people from the six kingdoms under our control, and I’ll bring you more advanced tools dedicated solely to searching for Astrol" then he emphasized his words...

"But I want you to find it within one year at the most!"
