Chapter 135: Let’s Sleep Together
Chapter 135: Chapter 135: Let’s Sleep Together
Julian Forrester didn’t even bother to dry his hair. Breathing low, he walked over and saw Sienna Everett with her head bowed, looking completely absorbed in what she was reading.
His eyes narrowed dangerously as he reached out a hand.
Just as Sienna Everett was getting into it, a fair, slender hand with prominent knuckles suddenly appeared in her line of sight.
Sienna Everett froze and looked up.
The man beckoned to her. Perhaps because he’d just showered, his narrow, handsome eyes glistened with a hint of moisture, making his gaze seem exceptionally clear. "Give it to me."
"You want to read it too?" Sienna Everett asked, patting the spot beside her on the bed. "Sit down, and we can read it together."
Julian Forrester: "..."
’He would have much preferred an invitation from Sienna to look at something else entirely.’
Julian Forrester didn’t sit down. He took the divorce agreement from her hands. She had only gotten to the first page.
Julian Forrester asked, "Why the sudden interest in this?"
"I wanted to look over the terms," Sienna Everett said. "I didn’t read them carefully before."
When she signed the divorce agreement back then, she had only given it a quick glance before scribbling her signature.
She had an irrational trust in Julian Forrester, a faith that he would never hurt her, so she had signed after just a cursory glance.
Even though at the time she had reunited with Julian Forrester for less than a day, and had verbally claimed they were incompatible and could never get along, for some unknown reason, she felt an inexplicable trust in him.
"Looking at the terms?" Julian Forrester repeated, his tone ambiguous.
Sienna Everett nodded. "Yep."
A half-smile played on Julian Forrester’s lips. He flipped forward two pages, then handed it back to her. His pale, elegant finger tapped lightly on the middle of the page. "Look at this clause. Read it carefully."
He sounded so serious that Sienna Everett immediately looked down to read it carefully.
When she saw what it was, a corner of her mouth twitched uncontrollably.
It was the clause demanding the fulfillment of marital duties.
Sienna Everett had actually seen this clause when she first signed the divorce agreement, but she hadn’t given it much thought.
She didn’t realize it had *that* kind of implication.
Sienna Everett gave a light cough, pretended to be calm as she looked away, pulled open the nightstand drawer, and shoved the divorce agreement inside.
"I’m tired. I’m not reading anymore. Time for bed."
As soon as she finished speaking, she lay down, but Julian Forrester grabbed her by the wrist.
"What are you doing?" Sienna Everett looked at him warily.
The man’s eyes curved into a smile as he exuded a sensual, alluring air. "Since you’ve read it, aren’t you going to fulfill some marital duties?"
Sienna Everett immediately shot him a glare.
He refused to let go, the pad of his thumb gently caressing the pale, delicate skin of her wrist. "Nothing else. I just want you to help me dry my hair. That’s not too much to ask, is it?"
Sienna Everett instantly felt a shiver run through her. Where his hand held her wrist, the skin-on-skin contact sent a tingling, burning sensation through her.
Sienna Everett’s fingertips curled involuntarily. "Can’t you dry it yourself? Besides, you’re too tall. My arms would get tired from holding them up the whole time to dry your hair."
"Then I’ll sit down. I can’t have you getting tired, Sienna."
Sienna Everett: "..."
The man’s dark eyes were fixed on her, as if he would keep holding her wrist until she agreed.
His gaze had always been particularly potent, especially when he looked at someone with focused tenderness. His eyes were like deep whirlpools, luring one in, making them willing to drown.
「Two minutes later.」
Julian Forrester was lounging on the sofa while Sienna Everett stood before him, her small face tense and serious as she dutifully dried his hair with a towel.
’I have no idea how I agreed to dry his hair. He must have bewitched me!’
’Damn that handsome face of his!’
He sat, and she stood, regretfully drying his hair with the towel.
Suddenly, she felt a tightening around her waist.
It was Julian Forrester. He had wrapped his arms around her, resting the side of his forehead against her stomach.
Sienna’s movements halted. "What are you doing?"
Julian Forrester inhaled her faint, sweet fragrance, his tone nonchalant. "My hair’s dry. You can stop."
"I’m asking what your hands are doing," Sienna said.
The man let out a low chuckle. Holding the woman’s slender waist—so slim it was less than a handful—he deliberately gave the soft flesh there a little squeeze. His voice was a low, husky, and lingering murmur, both tender and seductive. "My hands? They’re hugging my wife."
In that instant, a tingle shot straight down Sienna Everett’s spine to her tailbone. The tingling sensation washed over her back like a tidal wave, and her eyelashes fluttered. "...Don’t call me that. Let go of me."
He didn’t let go, his voice languid. "Be good. Don’t move. Let me hold you for a bit."
He paused for two seconds before making up an excuse: "I’m a little tired today."
Sienna stopped trying to push him away. She lowered her head to look at him. From her top-down angle, she could see the straight bridge of his nose and his long eyelashes.
His jaw was clean-cut and sharp, every line of his face impeccably handsome.
Sienna Everett toyed with a few strands of his black hair. "Are you really tired? Then you should go rest on the bed. What’s the use of hugging me? I can’t help you rest."
Julian Forrester: "..."
Julian Forrester glanced up at her, then slowly stood up.
The next second, Sienna Everett’s world spun. Before she could react, the man had swept her up into his arms in a princess carry.
Sienna Everett let out a sudden cry, her hands subconsciously clutching his clothes. "Julian Forrester!"
The man looked down at her and let out a stifled chuckle. "Why are your hands holding on so tight, Sienna?"
A flush crept up Sienna Everett’s cheeks as she shot him a bashful glare.
But her eyes were dewy, the corners faintly pink, so even her fierce glare seemed soft and was somehow incredibly alluring.
Julian Forrester’s throat tightened. His dark gaze fixed on her face, and his low, husky voice was laced with a deeper meaning. "Who said I can’t rest while holding you? We’ll have to test that theory tonight."
Before Sienna Everett could react, the man carried her to the bed.
Sienna immediately rolled over twice, pulling her blanket tightly around herself. ’There was no way she was going to sleep cuddling with him!’
’Even though they’d been sharing a bed these past few days, they always kept to their respective sides. There was no way she was going to sleep all cuddled up together!’
But with a single tug from Julian Forrester, she rolled uncontrollably back toward him.
The man’s low, mellow voice, laced with laughter, whispered by her ear, making her heart tremble. "Trying to roll back into my arms?"
Sienna Everett: "..."
’This damned man!’
Sienna Everett’s cheeks puffed with anger, and she lifted her foot to kick at him. "You’re the one who pulled me back!"
Before her foot could connect, the man’s warm palm closed around her ankle.
Julian Forrester’s gaze suddenly darkened.
Her ankle was slender and pale. He could easily encircle it with his hand. His thumb gently stroked her ankle bone, and his voice was laced with a distinct huskiness that was devastatingly sexy. "You’re too thin."
