Chapter 136: Chapter 136: A Person of No Ordinary Status

As the man’s fingers brushed over her ankle bone, Sienna Everett’s heart suddenly clenched. She instinctively retorted, "What do you mean, I’m too skinny? I have a great figure, you know."

Hearing this, Julian Forrester slowly raised an eyebrow. His gaze swept over her body, inch by inch, so tangible it was almost a physical touch—a scorching look that frayed the nerves and was impossible to withstand.

Sienna Everett’s heart skipped a beat, and she suddenly didn’t know what to do with her hands and feet.

And to make matters worse, he nodded calmly and said, "It is indeed."

Sienna Everett: "..."

"Where are you looking!"

Sienna Everett’s face instantly flushed red. It felt as if a frantic fawn was stampeding in her chest. With her ankle still in the man’s grasp, the spot he held tingled with a faint electric current, both numb and itchy.

Sienna Everett immediately tried to pull her leg back.

But she gave it a tug and failed to break free from the man’s hold.

His fair, slender fingers still held her ankle.

Sienna Everett’s long, delicate eyelashes fluttered. She bit her glossy lip and murmured softly, "Let go of me..."

Julian Forrester’s cool, pale, bony fingertips caressed her ankle, as if he couldn’t bear to let go. He asked lazily, "Not going to kick me anymore?"

Sienna Everett immediately played dumb. "Huh? You must be mistaken. I wasn’t going to kick you."

The man’s brow quirked up slightly, but the next second, his grip suddenly tightened. He yanked on Sienna Everett’s ankle, pulling her back toward him.

Sienna Everett gasped in surprise, then found herself pulled into an embrace that smelled crisp and clean.

The man lay down, pulling her with him. He nuzzled her cheek with the tip of his nose, his voice intimate and suggestive. "We agreed I’d hold Sienna tonight while we sleep."

Sienna Everett: "...Who agreed to that?"

Julian Forrester raised an eyebrow, his tone coaxing and languid. "Then how about I tell you a bedtime story?"

Sienna Everett huffed. "Do you think I’m a three-year-old? I’m way past listening to ’Little Red Riding Hood’."

Then, she added with a look of eager excitement, "I want to hear ’Calabash Brothers Save Grandpa’!"

Her response was a low chuckle from the man, his chest vibrating with obvious amusement.

...

「The next morning.」

When Sienna Everett woke up, the first thing she saw was the man’s firm, well-defined chest and his fine, sexy collarbones, a scene of endless temptation.

In his state of charming dishevelment, he exuded an overwhelming charisma.

Sienna Everett swallowed, slowly lifting her head to meet the man’s deep, quiet eyes. His gaze was clear; it seemed he had been awake for a while.

Sienna Everett greeted him dryly, "Morning."

"Morning," Julian Forrester’s lips curved slightly, his voice raspy and languid with sleep. "Thank you, Sierra. I slept very well last night."

Sienna Everett: "..."

’He still remembered her saying, "What’s the use of holding me? It’s not like I can help you rest."’

Sienna Everett’s cheeks puffed out. "You may have rested well, but I certainly didn’t."

"Is that so." He seemed to think about it seriously before saying with some difficulty, "Then I’ll let you get me back. You can hold me tonight. How about that?"

Sienna Everett: "???"

Sienna Everett lunged forward, her head thumping against his chest. "Not how about that!"

But the man just laughed lazily. "Why are you throwing yourself at me now?"

That just made Sienna Everett angrier. She raised her hands to his neck, her whole body draped over him. "I’m not just throwing myself at you, I’m giving you my hands, too! The hands to strangle you!"

Julian Forrester chuckled and lifted his chin, exposing the long, sexy line of his neck to make it easier for her to throttle him.

One of his hands rested nonchalantly on her waist, his eyes crinkling with a seductive laziness. "After you’re done strangling me, remember to hold me tonight, Sierra."

Sienna Everett: "..."

’I should just strangle him and be done with it!’

...

After breakfast, Sienna Everett took a stroll in the garden and called Isabelle Sutton to catch up. She had been so busy lately that they hadn’t had a chance to meet.

When she returned to the living room, Julian Forrester was nowhere to be seen. He was probably in the study on the second floor.

Sienna Everett casually turned on the TV and happened to catch the premiere of Orion Hawthorne’s new show. She watched half an episode and found it was quite good; the plot was very engaging.

Sienna Everett settled comfortably on the sofa, picked up the fruit platter from the coffee table, and watched TV while eating fruit.

Just as the episode ended, her phone suddenly rang. It was Keith Sterling.

Sienna Everett turned off the TV. Since she was still holding the fruit platter, she just put the phone on speaker.

"Sis! Sis!" Keith Sterling’s cheerful voice came through the receiver. "I’ve got something to tell you! Guess who I ran into this morning while I was out!"

"Who?"

"Guess! Just guess!"

"...Just tell me, or I’m hanging up." Sienna Everett speared a piece of watermelon and popped it into her mouth, too lazy to guess.

"Don’t hang up, don’t hang up!" Keith Sterling clicked his tongue. "Sis, you have no idea. I went to a club in the suburbs this morning and ran into that annoying guy, Evan Shelby! Isn’t he new around here? How does he get around so much?"

Sienna Everett wasn’t surprised at all. "That’s just how he is, can’t sit still. Did you two hang out?"

Keith Sterling gave a cunning laugh. "Heh heh, I managed to get some intel out of him!"

Sienna Everett was surprised. "Intel?"

Keith Sterling: "Yup, about you!"

Sienna Everett: "??? What intel about me?"

Keith Sterling remarked dramatically, "Sis, Evan Shelby said tons of guys used to chase you. He said the line of suitors could’ve stretched a hundred and eighty blocks long, tsk tsk."

Sienna Everett: "..."

Keith Sterling stroked his chin. "And there was someone with a really special background who was after you, right? Who was that guy with the special background? Evan Shelby didn’t tell me."

Hearing "special background," an incomparably handsome face surfaced in Sienna Everett’s mind.

After a few seconds of silence, Sienna Everett grumbled in annoyance, "That traitor, Evan Shelby. Why does he tell you everything?"

"Hahahaha, that’s because I’m good at prying out information!" Keith Sterling was genuinely curious and pressed on relentlessly, "So who was the really special guy? Man, how does my brother have so many rivals?"

A series of dark lines seemed to fall across Sienna Everett’s forehead. "What rivals? Don’t talk nonsense."

Keith Sterling: "I’m not talking nonsense! And what about that classmate of yours, what’s-his-name, Maxwell Sawyer? My sharp eyes saw right through him. He definitely likes you!"

Sienna Everett: "??? You must have seen wrong, right?"

’Maxwell Sawyer likes me?’

’How did I not know that?’

Keith Sterling staunchly defended his keen powers of observation, vowing, "I absolutely did not see wrong! Sis, believe me!"

Sienna Everett was startled and instantly decided to keep her distance from Maxwell Sawyer from now on, to stay far away from him.

Sienna Everett put the fruit platter back on the coffee table, stood up with her phone, and prepared to head back to her room. But as soon as she turned, she saw Julian Forrester standing nearby, a casual posture belying his presence.

Sienna Everett felt inexplicably guilty. She’d had her speakerphone on during the call with Keith Sterling and had no idea how much Julian Forrester had overheard.

Sienna Everett said to Keith Sterling in a low voice, "I have something to do, so I’m hanging up now."

The moment she hung up, Julian Forrester started walking toward her. His eyes were deep, like a bottomless abyss. "Tons of guys used to chase you?"

Sienna Everett: "..."

’Crap, he heard everything.’

The man’s face remained calm and unhurried, but a few specks of frostiness bloomed in the depths of his eyes. His voice was low and heavy. "And someone with a special background?"
