Chapter 145: DNA Test
Chapter 145: Chapter 145: DNA Test
"Wyatt! How could you say that to Shannon!" Sheila Whitaker cut Wyatt Everett off, her expression stern. "Shannon is already crying. She knows she was wrong!"
Shannon Everett hid in Sheila Whitaker’s arms, her face streaked with tears and her voice soft and weak. "Mom, I really know I was wrong this time..."
Wyatt Everett was so angry his temples throbbed. ’This Shannon... how can she be so good at faking it!’
Dustin Everett’s gaze swept across the living room. Aside from Morgan Everett, Sheila Whitaker, and Shannon Everett, his second brother, Miles Everett, and fourth brother, Lucas Everett, were also there. Only Mason Everett was missing.
’Where did Mason go?’
Miles Everett looked at Shannon Everett, who had stolen the design draft, his brow furrowed slightly. He wanted to teach her a lesson.
But seeing how protectively Sheila Whitaker shielded Shannon, refusing to let her suffer even a single word of criticism, Miles Everett hesitated. In the end, he decided it wasn’t his business and kept his mouth shut.
With his stern features, Lucas Everett looked probingly at Wyatt Everett and Dustin Everett. "So, you two finally remembered the way home?"
At the mention of this, Morgan Everett slammed his hand on the table in anger. "How long has it been since you two brats have been home? Huh?!"
Wyatt Everett took a deep breath, suppressing the anger and resistance he felt toward his family. He got straight to the point: "Dad, Mom, if you don’t like Sienna, why did you bring her back to the Everett family in the first place?"
Sheila Whitaker was taken aback. Her brows furrowed, and she said stiffly, "Sienna Everett is my biological daughter. I found her after she went missing. What’s wrong with bringing her back home to the Everett family?"
Dustin Everett stared intently into Sheila Whitaker’s eyes. "Is that really all there is to it?"
Sheila Whitaker looked at Morgan Everett. "Morgan, you tell them."
Morgan Everett was silent for a moment, then nodded without batting an eye. "That’s right. Wyatt, Dustin, why are you two suddenly asking about this?"
Wyatt Everett and Dustin Everett exchanged a look, still unconvinced.
Sheila Whitaker changed the subject. Glancing at the dark sky and listening to the pitter-patter of the rain, she asked with a worried expression, "It’s so late, and it’s raining. Why isn’t Mason back yet?"
Shannon Everett replied softly, "After the design exchange gala ended, our older brother went chasing after our sister. I haven’t seen him since."
"He went chasing after Sienna Everett?" Sheila Whitaker thought for a moment, then looked at Miles Everett. "Miles, call your older brother and tell him to come home right away."
Miles Everett nodded and took out his phone to call Mason Everett.
But the call went unanswered until it automatically disconnected.
The worry in Sheila Whitaker’s heart grew heavier. "That boy, Mason... Why isn’t he even picking up his phone?"
Morgan Everett sighed. Mason had been competitive since childhood, singularly focused on making the Everett Group more and more successful. He was even willing to do anything, at any cost, to make the company powerful.
Now that the Everett family had fallen so far, and Kian—the person in whom Mason had placed such high hopes—turned out to be his own sister, Sienna Everett, whom he’d always disliked, his feelings must be complicated beyond measure.
Sheila Whitaker urged, "Lucas, you call Mason, too."
"Okay." Lucas Everett took out his phone and dialed his older brother.
This time, however, a message indicated that the phone was turned off.
Sheila Whitaker grew more anxious and worried, tears welling up in the corners of her eyes.
’She knew Mason had taken a blow, but not coming home this late and not answering his phone... where could he have gone? He’s completely unreachable. I hope nothing bad has happened...’

Keith Sterling dropped Sienna Everett off at Veridian Gardens but didn’t even get out of the car. "Alrighty, mission from my bro successfully completed: sis-in-law delivered home safe and sound! I shall now make my graceful exit and not disturb you two lovebirds!"
Sienna Everett’s eyes narrowed slightly. "If you’re leaving, then just leave. Why all the chatter?"
Keith Sterling raised his hands in surrender. "Okay, okay, no more chatter. Sis-in-law, say hi to my bro for me... Oh, never mind. He’s coming out to get you himself."
Sienna Everett turned and saw Julian Forrester walking out of the living room.
The bright, warm light of the living room spilled out from behind the man, the backlit angle accentuating his tall, slender frame and making his posture seem as graceful as jade.
"Well, well, your husband came out just to greet you. I know how to take a hint, so I’ll make myself scarce!" Keith Sterling chuckled, then sped off in his little pink sports car, vanishing in a flash.
Sienna Everett: "..."
’That Keith Sterling really has a motor mouth.’
Sienna Everett turned around and saw Julian Forrester standing on the steps before the living room. His long, straight legs, clad in suit trousers, looked both restrained and sexy.
As she approached, she heard the man’s low, husky, and casual voice say, "That autograph from Kian... How come Sienna still hasn’t gotten it for me?"
Sienna Everett: "..."
’So, he already knew I was Kian when he asked me for the autograph?’
’He was setting a trap for me.’
The man lazily raised an eyebrow. "How many days have you owed me? Hmm?"
Sienna Everett puffed out her cheeks, huffed lightly, and started up the steps. "What’s the rush? I’ll give it to you in a second."
As she reached the top step, Sienna Everett’s foot suddenly caught on something. Her body lurched, and she lost her balance, tumbling forward uncontrollably.
Julian Forrester’s eyes darkened, and with lightning-fast reflexes, he caught her.
Sienna Everett tumbled into his arms, her forehead hitting his chest with a soft THUD. The impact made her nose sting.
Tears nearly sprang to Sienna Everett’s eyes. She quickly reached up to rub her nose and muttered, "What did I just trip on...?"
As Sienna Everett muttered to herself, her gaze suddenly froze, and her thick lashes fluttered rapidly.
Julian Forrester followed her line of sight.
There, on the front of his white shirt, was a faint, red lip print.
Seeing this, Julian Forrester gave an almost imperceptible raise of his eyebrows. He let out a lazy, "Oh." ’A lip print.’
’She just got back from the gala and hasn’t wiped off her lipstick. Did it happen when she fell just now?’
Sienna Everett’s cheeks burned. Forgetting all about her stinging nose, she quickly raised her hand to wipe it away. "I’ll get that off for you!"
But the man took a step back. His alluring Adam’s apple bobbed, and a teasing chuckle escaped his throat. "We’ll just call it Kian’s autograph for me."
Sienna Everett: "???"
He raised an eyebrow. "An exclusive autograph, just for me. What do you think?"
Sienna Everett: "..."
The man leaned down slightly, his lips close to her ear. His breath was warm and intimate as he spoke, his voice low, husky, and tinged with a smile. He deliberately drew out his words, "I... like this autograph... a lot."
Sienna Everett felt a tingle run down one side of her body, and her heart suddenly clenched.
Looking at his devastatingly handsome profile, Sienna Everett swallowed hard. Her eyes curved into a mischievous smile. "Want another exclusive autograph?"
Julian Forrester slowly straightened up. "Hmm?"
Without warning, Sienna Everett reached out, pinched the flesh of his arm, and gave it a light twist. The fair skin immediately flushed red.
"See? This is also an exclusive autograph just for you!"
She grinned slyly, like a little fox that had gotten away with its mischief.
Julian Forrester’s eyebrow twitched slightly. Gazing at the red mark on his fair arm, he suddenly used her full name in a half-joking complaint, "Sienna Everett, are you trying to murder your dear husband?"
Sienna Everett: "?"
Sienna Everett reached out and pinched him again. "Oh, shut up!"
The man let out a low laugh. He didn’t dodge or cry out in pain, his eyes filled with indulgence and affection.

The next afternoon, Sienna Everett went to Sovereign Entertainment.
She discussed some work-related matters with Stella Shaw.
After leaving the building, she encountered a man in a wheelchair at the main entrance.
The man was exceptionally handsome, with exquisitely perfect features, but he was unfortunately in a wheelchair. It seemed he had some ailment affecting his legs.
A bottle of mineral water had fallen on the ground next to his wheelchair.
Seeing that the man had limited mobility, Sienna Everett kindly picked up the water bottle for him. "Here."
"Thank you." The man took it, his deep eyes fixed unblinkingly on Sienna Everett’s face.
’The resemblance is uncanny.’
’She looks even more like her than in the photograph.’
’The resemblance between this girl’s features and his mother’s was more than just passing.’
The man’s heart surged with an indescribable excitement. He had rushed to Celestria overnight and hadn’t rested since he landed. Now, finally seeing Sienna Everett in person, he felt an inexplicable sense of kinship.
’Could this Sienna Everett be the sister he lost as a child...?’
’The fastest, most accurate way to find out would be a DNA test...’
