Chapter 149: Chapter 149: Sienna Everett’s Hidden Information
Julian Forrester’s tone was nonchalant. "You’re very curious?"
Keith Sterling snickered. "I’m not gossiping... Ahem, I’m just concerned about you and your relationship! I’m an expert when it comes to love, you know. I can teach you how to handle a rival, bro!"
Julian Forrester raised an eyebrow, remaining noncommittal.
Eager for gossip, Keith Sterling pressed, "So, did you find out who that guy with the mysterious background is?"
A faint coolness filled Julian Forrester’s eyes. He looked down at the file in his hand, which contained a photograph.
The photo only showed the man’s profile in the dark. His head was slightly lowered as he used a lighter to light a cigarette. The flame illuminated his face, revealing a pair of exquisite, beautiful, almond-shaped eyes that held a hint of melancholic obsession.
The man’s surname was Shen...
And he had indeed crossed paths with Sienna Everett...
...
After parting ways with Stella Shaw, Sienna Everett got a call from Isabelle Sutton. It had been a while since they had last seen each other, so they made plans to have lunch together that day.
When they arrived at the restaurant, they got a private room.
The moment Isabelle Sutton walked into the room, she threw her arms open and rushed to hug Sienna Everett. A smile spread across her face, revealing two cute dimples. "Sienna! Long time no see!"
Sienna had missed her, too. "It’s been too long. Come on, have a seat."
The two of them sat down at the table.
Isabelle Sutton’s eyes sparkled with excitement. "I saw the news a few days ago. It turns out you’re the famous designer Kian! Sienna, you’re seriously amazing! All the clothes you design are so beautiful!"
Sienna was a little surprised. "You’ve seen them?"
Isabelle nodded emphatically. "Of course! I’m a huge fan of G.Y.’s clothes. I check out every new collection, and I’ve even bought a couple of pieces!"
As she spoke, Isabelle pulled out her phone. In her photo album were a few selfies of her wearing G.Y. gowns. "Here, these are the two."
Sienna looked over, a faint smile on her lips. "They suit you perfectly. You look beautiful in them."
Isabelle blushed. "Really? I was worried I couldn’t do such beautiful gowns justice."
Sienna said, "Of course it’s true."
Isabelle grabbed Sienna’s hand excitedly. "If you, the designer, say so, then I can rest easy."
"Seriously, I absolutely love G.Y.’s clothes. There was one outfit I loved but couldn’t get, so I just saved a picture of it on my phone to look at every day. I never imagined the person who designed it all was my best friend. I feel so honored all of a sudden!"
’It’s like a dream come true.’
Sienna chuckled at her friend’s antics. "There’s an outfit you love but couldn’t get? Which one? I’ll give it to you as a gift."
Hearing this, Isabelle immediately waved her hands in protest. "No, no, that wouldn’t be right."
’The reason I couldn’t afford it was because that gown was incredibly expensive. It would be too embarrassing if Sienna just gave it to me for free.’
Sienna’s eyes curved upward, a charmingly languid smile playing across her picturesque features.
"It’s just a dress. What’s not right about giving a gift to a friend?"
"Just tell me which one you like, and I’ll have it sent straight to your house."
Isabelle felt a pang in her heart. ’Is this what it feels like to be spoiled?’
’What kind of goddess-tier friend is this!’
After their meal, Sienna and Isabelle chatted for a while longer before going their separate ways.
After saying goodbye to Isabelle, Sienna went to see Evan Shelby.
Walking into the villa, Sienna sat on the sofa and glanced at Evan Shelby, who had clearly just rolled out of bed, his hair a mess. The corner of her mouth twitched. "You just woke up?"
Evan ran a hand through his messy hair, his blue eyes still heavy with sleep. "Darling, it was a nap, okay?"
Sienna replied, "...Fine."
Evan washed a bowl of cherries, set it on the coffee table in front of Sienna, and asked casually, "Did you need something?"
Sienna said, "Nothing important. I was just wondering when you plan on going back."
"Tsk. Are you trying to get rid of me?" Evan pressed his elegant, pale fingers to his temple. "We’ll see. There’s no rush. Oh, right, you ran into Ian Prescott earlier?"
Sienna popped a cherry into her mouth and hummed a leisurely "mhm."
Evan mulled it over for a moment before sitting on the sofa next to her. "I don’t think it was that simple. You don’t just ’run into’ a guy like that. Ian Prescott was definitely there to find you."
Sienna nodded. "I know. He said as much. He knew I was Kian, so he came to pay me a visit."
Evan stroked his chin, still feeling there was more to it.
Watching Sienna eat the cherries made Evan want one, too. He plucked one from the bowl and said offhandedly, "That Ian Prescott... he’s not someone you want to mess with."
Sienna looked surprised. "Not want to mess with?"
Evan nodded. "Mhm."
Sienna picked up a nearby wet wipe and cleaned her slender fingers. "I thought he was pretty easy to get along with. When I met him, he was in a wheelchair—faking being lame, it turns out—but other than that, he seemed polite and well-mannered. Not like someone who’s hard to deal with."
Evan raised his eyebrows in surprise. "He was on his best behavior for you?"
Sienna said, "...What’s that supposed to mean?"
Evan chuckled. "He really was on his best behavior for you. From what I’ve heard, Ian Prescott is ruthless. He can be smiling one second and take your life the next."
"I see." Sienna didn’t seem too concerned. She leaned back against the sofa. "It’s fine. I doubt I’ll be seeing him much anyway."
Evan looked over at her. "But why do I get the feeling he’s coming for you specifically?"
Sienna was speechless.
「Meanwhile, at Ian Prescott’s hotel.」
The butler placed a stack of paper documents in front of the man.
"Second Young Master, this is the file on Miss Sienna Everett. However, we were only able to find a portion of her information. Some of it appears to have been deliberately concealed."
"Deliberately concealed?" Ian Prescott’s expression grew cold.
"Yes. As a result, we have not yet been able to obtain certain information," the butler replied, standing with his head bowed respectfully.
Ian Prescott’s eyes narrowed slightly as he opened the first page and began to read.
Sienna Everett returned to the Everett Family two years ago, where she was mistreated and bullied by the Everetts. This year, she publicly severed all ties with the family.
She had repeatedly refused an apprenticeship with the dancer Eleanor Yates; she was the genius composer SG, the senior apprentice of guqin master Winston Jarvis, and the founder and chief designer of G.Y....
All of this was information that could be easily found.
Ian Prescott’s long fingers turned to the next page. His brows furrowed tightly as he read what was written there.
