Chapter 181: Sienna Everett Has Nothing to Do with the Prescott Family
Chapter 181: Chapter 181: Sienna Everett Has Nothing to Do with the Prescott Family
This doctor, Dr. Dunn, had been brought by Javier Prescott. He had a long-standing partnership with the Prescott Family and naturally knew they had been searching for the young lady who had been lost since childhood.
Dr. Dunn handed the DNA analysis report to Ian Prescott. "Second Young Master, the results are here."
Ian Prescott took it and flipped straight to the last page.
Javier Prescott strode over.
Sienna Everett remained seated, not moving.
Isabelle Sutton sat with her, clutching her arm. Her eyes were fixed anxiously on the report in Ian Prescott’s hands, her heart pounding in her chest. She was somehow even more nervous than Sienna, the person at the center of it all.
Keith Sterling, who could never sit still and was intensely curious, had already snuck up beside Ian Prescott, craning his neck to get a look at the report.
He saw the conclusion on the final page—
A high degree of mismatch was found between the DNA of the specimens. The subject and the reference individual do not share a biological relationship.
’No biological relationship...’
The moment he saw those words, Ian Prescott’s fingers tightened on the report.
’Sienna has no blood ties to the Prescott Family...’
’She isn’t the sister they lost so long ago...’
Javier Prescott’s brow furrowed slightly, his expression veiled in a chilly mist that made it impossible to read his thoughts. Still, one could feel the air around him turn sharp and cold.
’He had personally overseen every step. He’d watched the blood being drawn, so there was no possibility of a swap. He’d brought the doctor himself. There were no mistakes at any stage.’
’And now this result proved that the girl, Sienna Everett, was not his sister...’
Keith Sterling saw the result and couldn’t quite describe his feelings. He looked back at Sienna Everett and gave her a slight shake of his head.
Catching his gesture, Isabelle Sutton was surprised for a moment, then her face fell with disappointment.
’I really thought Sienna would finally have a family that truly cared for and cherished her.’
’Sigh.’
Isabelle Sutton turned to Sienna Everett. "Sienna..."
As the person at the center of it all, Sienna Everett showed no major emotional reaction, nor did she seem surprised.
She had done a DNA test with the Everett Family before. She was, indeed, an Everett. So, she had expected all along that she would have no connection to the Prescott Family.
The current result merely confirmed what she had thought from the beginning.
Sienna Everett stood up and walked over to Ian Prescott.
She pressed her lips together, her voice gentle. "Now that the results are out, you don’t have to keep worrying about me. I’m sure you’ll find the sister you’ve been longing for."
Ian’s gaze fell, something dark swirling in the depths of his eyes. His voice was husky. "Even if you’re not my biological sister... Sienna, can I still take you as my god-sister?"
He genuinely liked Sienna Everett and wanted to dote on her and protect her like family.
Sienna Everett was taken aback for a moment, then her lips curved into a soft smile. "You don’t have to make me your god-sister. We’re already friends."
A faint, bittersweet smile touched Ian Prescott’s lips. "Right. We’re already friends."
Javier Prescott stared intently at Sienna Everett before slowly pulling his gaze away. He looked back down at the results on the report, a dark light flickering in his eyes.
Just then, Isabelle Sutton looked in a certain direction and asked, "What are you doing here?"
Hearing this, Keith Sterling turned to look, his brow immediately furrowing. It was Lucas Everett.
When Lucas Everett saw Isabelle Sutton, his eyes lit up with delight and he strode over, his left hand clutching his right elbow. "I fell off my bike and came to get patched up. Isabelle, why are you at the hospital? Are you feeling unwell?"
Lucas Everett completely ignored his own injury, his expression full of concern as he looked at Isabelle Sutton.
Isabelle Sutton didn’t say anything. She glanced at his arm and saw a large, bloody scrape. It was a raw mess of flesh, dotted with coarse grit, and still bleeding. It looked incredibly painful.
Isabelle Sutton’s pupils contracted sharply. She wanted to say something, but in the end, she looked away, forcing herself to remain silent.
"Isabelle, tell me, are you sick?"
Forgetting his own injury entirely, Lucas Everett pressed her, unable to rest easy.
The next moment, he caught sight of Sienna Everett standing nearby.
Lucas Everett’s expression instantly turned cold. His brows lowered, his eyes flashing with malice. Where was the slightest trace of the concern he’d just shown Isabelle?
Keith Sterling was gobsmacked.
’How did poor Sierra get stuck with such moronic relatives?’
Lucas Everett remained silent, his expression cold and vicious as he glared at Sienna Everett with pure hatred.
Keith Sterling was so furious he exploded, "What the fuck are you staring at! Didn’t you get enough of kneeling at the racetrack yesterday?!"
That jab hit Lucas Everett right where it hurt. His expression turned ugly. He was about to retort when he noticed what looked like a DNA report in Ian Prescott’s hand, then saw the purplish needle mark on Sienna Everett’s arm from a blood draw.
The gears in Lucas Everett’s head turned, and he quickly put two and two together. He let out a disdainful sneer.
"Sienna Everett, don’t tell me you’re trying to do DNA tests with other people, trying to find some other family?"
Sienna Everett watched him, her face devoid of expression.
Lucas Everett found it laughable, looking at Sienna Everett as if she were some pathetic, delusional fool:
"How can you be so naive? Did you think the Everett Family would just casually take back any girl and call her the long-lost daughter? Of course we investigated, did a DNA test, and confirmed you were the family’s biological daughter before bringing you back!"
"Now that you’ve cut ties with the Everett Family, you’re trying to climb the social ladder and latch onto the Prescotts? Trying to marry up? I never realized you were such a social climber!"
In his heart, Lucas Everett was utterly disgusted with Sienna Everett. He would rather not have her as a sister at all; he’d rather she had died out on the streets as a child.
But seeing Sienna Everett’s disdain for the Everett Family filled him with resentment.
’Who is she to look down on the Everett Family?’
’The Everett Family gave her life! Even though she was lost as a child, they still took her back and raised her for two years. Hasn’t the family done enough for her?’
’What right does she have to scorn the Everett Family!’
After listening to his tirade, Sienna Everett’s gaze turned frigid, like ice drifting on a winter lake. "Are you finished?"
Lucas Everett sneered. "Sienna Everett, even if you arrogantly cut ties with the Everett Family and say you’re not one of us, you’ll always have Everett blood in your veins. You’re an Everett, through and through!"
Sienna Everett’s fingers clenched abruptly. She closed her eyes, her thick lashes trembling faintly.
’The blood of the Everetts flowed in her veins.’
’That was the most painful, loathsome, and unchangeable fact of her life.’
When she opened her eyes, her cold gaze fell upon Lucas Everett.
Met with her bone-chilling gaze, which was like a sharp blade of ice, Lucas Everett abruptly fell silent.
The next second—THWACK! Keith Sterling couldn’t take it anymore and threw a punch straight at Lucas Everett.
Isabelle Sutton ran to Sienna Everett’s side, wrapping her arms around her protectively.
’How did Sienna get stuck with a family like this?’
’If my family were like that, I think I’d suffocate.’
Javier Prescott spoke, his voice cold. "This is a hospital. Don’t fight here."
"Brother?" Ian Prescott looked at him, surprised. He was itching to land a punch himself.
In the next breath, Javier Prescott glanced at the assistant by his side, his tone laced with a bone-deep chill. "Take him outside. And teach that mouth of his a proper lesson."
The assistant nodded. "Yes, sir." He immediately motioned to the accompanying bodyguards to follow the Eldest Young Master’s orders.
Ian Prescott: "..."
’My brother... truly a man of few words and ruthless actions...’
’That Lucas Everett isn’t getting off easy today.’
