Chapter 182: Chapter 182: Baby, Why Do You Run the Moment You See Me?

Sienna Everett looked at Javier Prescott, about to say something.

Ian Prescott spoke first. "Sienna, we’re friends. How could we see a friend being bullied and not step in?"

Sienna Everett: "...Thank you."

’She could have handled Lucas Everett herself.’

But being cared for so much by her friends, she couldn’t help but feel a gentle warmth spread through her heart.

Isabelle Sutton heard Javier Prescott’s words and watched the bodyguards approach Lucas Everett. Her heart suddenly clenched. Her lips moved, but in the end, she said nothing.

Javier Prescott and Ian Prescott had wanted to have a nice meal with Sienna Everett, but after the scene Lucas Everett caused, Sienna was in no mood and went straight back to the hotel.

"Sierra, you..." Keith Sterling followed behind Sienna Everett, asking worriedly, "Are you okay right now?"

"I’m fine." Sienna Everett glanced at him. "You, on the other hand, shouldn’t get into fights so easily. What if you get beaten up? How am I supposed to explain that to your brother?"

Keith Sterling immediately looked indignant and puffed out his chest. "Don’t look down on me! I’m a great fighter, okay? Taking on a nobody like Lucas Everett is a piece of cake!"

Sienna Everett raised an eyebrow. "For real? You’re that good?"

Keith Sterling was full of pride. "Of course it’s true!"

"Alright then, I’ll believe you this time." Sienna Everett bantered with Keith Sterling for a few more moments before returning to her room to rest.

Watching her retreating figure, Keith Sterling let out a soft sigh.

’I have to tell my brother about this.’

Keith Sterling returned to his room, and before he could even sit down, Evan Shelby and Orion Hawthorne came looking for him.

"How did the test results turn out?" Evan Shelby asked impatiently.

Keith Sterling spread his hands. "Sierra has no connection to the Prescott Family. They got the wrong person again. Sigh, and here I thought Sierra would finally be able to cut ties with the Everett Family."

Orion Hawthorne frowned slightly.

Evan Shelby also fell silent. A moment later, his handsome, sharp, mixed-race features turned to Keith Sterling, his blue eyes focused. "The flight back to Celestria is tomorrow?"

Keith Sterling gave him a casual glance. "We’re going back to Celestria, not you. You’re not even from Celestria."

Evan Shelby: "..."

Evan Shelby suddenly smiled. "Darling, why are you so against me?"

Keith Sterling’s eyelid twitched, and he aimed a kick at him. "Screw you!"

Orion Hawthorne offered no comment on their bickering. He was so used to seeing it that he wasn’t the least bit surprised.

...

After returning to her room, Sienna Everett first took a bath.

She lay in the tub, the hot water comfortably soaking her entire body. The water rippled gently, and the steam wafted up, seeming to evaporate the fatigue from her heart.

Sienna Everett lay there quietly, her eyes gently closed, and gradually began to relax.

Suddenly, the phone she had set aside rang.

Sienna Everett dried her hands, picked up her phone, and glanced at it.

It was a video call from Julian Forrester.

Sienna Everett hit decline.

A message came from him moments later.

Julian Forrester: [?]

Sienna Everett typed back: [In the bath. Give me a minute.]

Julian Forrester: "..."

Once she was done, Sienna Everett got out of the bathroom, dried her hair with a blow-dryer, and then flopped comfortably onto her stomach on the bed to call Julian Forrester back.

The video call connected the instant she placed it.

Julian Forrester looked at the girl on the screen. Her skin was as white and smooth as jade, so delicate it was without a single scar or blemish. Her lips were moist and crimson, like a gorgeous rose tempting one to pluck it.

Probably because she had just bathed, her shimmering eyes were veiled in a hazy mist. With every glance, she was unconsciously alluring.

Julian Forrester’s gaze suddenly darkened. He lowered his eyes, hiding the turbulent emotions swirling within them, before speaking in a hoarse voice, "Keith told me what happened today."

Sienna Everett shook her head helplessly. ’That Keith and his big mouth.’

"You did a DNA test with the Prescott Family?" he asked.

"Mhm, no biological relation." Sienna Everett was still lying on her stomach, holding her phone with one hand and propping her chin up with the other. "The Prescott Family got the wrong person. They thought I was their sister who went missing as a child. I actually told them that I did a DNA test with the Everett Family before, and I am their biological daughter."

Julian Forrester stared at her for a long moment, a deep, dark look appearing in his eyes. He suddenly said, "I’m coming over to see you now."

"Huh?" Sienna Everett was so startled she sat up in bed. "You’re coming to see me? We’re flying back to Celestria tomorrow, and you’re coming over now?"

’What is he up to all of a sudden?’

The man’s dark eyes were fixed on her, his voice low. "Your mood is off."

Sienna Everett froze, blinking. She leaned closer to the camera, the corners of her rosy lips curling into a teasing smile. "How is my mood off? You can tell that, too?"

"Sienna," the man’s dark eyes were profound, his low, magnetic voice overflowing with tender affection, "I know you better than you think."

Hearing this, the smile on Sienna Everett’s lips faltered slightly. It felt as if her heart had been wrapped in a soft, thin layer, leaving a lingering, fluttering after-effect.

She dropped her forced smile and hung her head. "Alright... you really do know me that well, Julian. I just feel a little tired, and I miss my grandparents."

The things Lucas Everett said had left her feeling a numb sort of exhaustion.

The more tired she felt, the more she missed her grandparents and the days she spent living with them as a child.

But her grandparents had already passed away. She would never see them again.

Sienna Everett took a deep breath, suppressing the ache in her chest. "But you don’t need to come see me. Really. I’m going back to Celestria tomorrow. It’s too much trouble for you to make the trip."

After speaking, Sienna Everett flopped back onto her stomach, propping her chin on her hand. Her slender, pale fingers tapped gently against her cheek as a lovely, lazy smile spread across her picturesque features. "Besides, now that you’ve said that, my mood has suddenly improved. I feel great now."

Besides her grandparents, there was Julian Forrester. He had grown up with her, a person who had filled her entire youth.

Now, looking at him through the screen, across a distance of thousands of miles, the weariness in her heart suddenly dissipated.

Julian Forrester remained silent.

Sienna Everett moved her face close to the camera, her big, dark, bright eyes blinking. "Come on, take a look. You know me so well, so see for yourself if I’m better."

After saying that, she even made a silly, ugly face at the camera.

He lowered his gaze and chuckled softly. "You do seem a little better."

’But he was still worried. He still wanted to go to her side immediately and be with her.’

Sienna Everett didn’t know what he was thinking. They chatted for a few more moments, and when he said he had to get busy, she ended the video call and idly surfed the web for a while.

In the afternoon, she heard a knock on the door.

Sienna Everett thought it was Keith Sterling coming to find her, so she went to open the door.

But when the door opened and she saw the man standing outside, Sienna Everett froze.

The moment she came to her senses, she tried to slam the door shut with a BANG.

The man reached out a hand, planting it on the door to stop her from closing it. The corners of his beautiful, almond-shaped eyes tilted up, and his smile was both wicked and obsessive. "Baby, why do you run the second you see me?"

...

That evening, Keith Sterling came to find Sienna Everett to have dinner together.

As he raised his hand to knock, he found the door wasn’t closed, and it swung open with his touch.

"Sierra, why didn’t you close your door?"

Keith Sterling asked suspiciously, but in the next second, he saw Sienna Everett’s phone lying on the carpet.

And Sienna Everett’s room was completely empty.
