Chapter 187: Chapter 187: Kiss You, Touch You, or Lay a Finger on You
Sienna Everett froze. Her eyes darted around for a moment before lighting up. "Are you saying Julian Forrester is in Meridia? When did he get here? How do you know?"
Simon Sinclair’s tone was casual. "He can have people tailing me, so I can’t have people tailing him?"
"And another thing," Simon Sinclair said, watching her expression as his eyes narrowed dangerously. "You seem happy to hear that Julian Forrester is here?"
After a beat, he said, "Seeing you so happy is making me very unhappy."
Sienna Everett was speechless.
"You don’t want to divorce him?" Simon Sinclair stared at her intently, scrutinizing her expression.
"Whether I divorce him or not..." ’...is none of your business,’ Sienna Everett wanted to say, but an idea suddenly struck her. She could use this to make Simon Sinclair stop pestering her.
She subtly cleared her throat and changed her tune. "Of course we’re not getting a divorce. Our relationship is great. I’ve told you before, I’m married. I have a husband. So stop calling me pet names."
’Husband?’
Simon Sinclair’s expression darkened several shades, a dissolute gloom spreading across his features. After a long moment, he finally spoke. "Looks like I really will have to be the other man."
Sienna Everett: "?"
Sienna Everett couldn’t take it anymore and finally snapped, "Are you sick in the head?!"
But the man just quirked his lips, his charming eyes filled with a flippant smile. "You sound so lovely when you’re scolding me, baby. Do it again."
Sienna Everett: "???"
"Simon Sinclair, don’t you realize how twisted your mind is?"
"How is it twisted?"
"I’ve never met anyone so shameless and sick in the head! Someone who enjoys being yelled at, who brazenly declares they want to be the other man, someone with such a filthy mind!"
Simon Sinclair listened to every single word, then arched an eyebrow. "Baby, you’ve got one thing wrong. I only like it when *you* scold me. Anyone else, and it wouldn’t work."
He didn’t deny being shameless or sick in the head.
But "filthy mind"?
He stepped closer, a dangerous, unreadable smile playing on his lips. "Sienna Everett, how the fuck is my mind filthy? Huh? Since bringing you here, have I kissed you? Touched you? Have I even laid a single finger on you?"
"You shouldn’t have brought me here in the first place." Sienna Everett met his gaze head-on, not backing down.
"Well, that couldn’t be helped." Simon Sinclair’s fair fingers toyed with a strand of her hair, the air suddenly charged with a strange intimacy. "I just wanted to see you. Besides, you’re the one who made me that promise a long time ago. You gave me your word."
Sienna Everett was speechless.
’She really couldn’t remember. What the hell was that stupid promise about?’
In addition to the bodyguards patrolling outside, the villa was also staffed with a chef and maids. They had prepared a lavish dinner, and every dish was something Sienna Everett loved.
Sienna Everett hadn’t eaten a meal with Simon Sinclair in a long time. The scene felt reminiscent of when they first met.
As time passed, the sky outside grew completely dark.
In the living room, the man sat in an armchair, fiddling with a lighter in his long, elegant hands. His fingertip grated against the flint wheel, producing a soft rasping sound as the flame flickered to life and died again.
The flickering light cast his face in and out of shadow, outlining the sharp, sensual curve of his jaw.
Sienna Everett shot him a glance before wandering aimlessly around the living room. Through the massive floor-to-ceiling windows, she could see the bright moon hanging over the sea, its light shimmering on the water.
When she turned around, she discovered Simon Sinclair staring at her back, making no effort to hide it.
"What are you looking at?" Sienna Everett snapped.
"Tsk. Just looking at a fierce little ingrate." He rose lazily to his feet and glanced at the clock on the wall, his voice laced with a faint rasp. "Still can’t remember?"
Sienna Everett frowned. "I really don’t remember. Just tell me."
Just then, a subordinate dressed in black strode over and whispered something in Simon Sinclair’s ear.
Simon Sinclair’s expression remained composed, but a glint appeared in his striking eyes, which seemed to hold the night sky’s river of stars. He quirked a lip. "He got here faster than I expected."
Sienna Everett blinked in confusion.
’Faster than he expected?’
’Could it be... Julian Forrester found me?!’
