“Whatever.”
Those two words were the worst.
Lilia’s mouth twitched.
It was like a client throwing a proposal in your face and saying, “I want a colorful black,” then leaving you to figure it out.
Hera tilted her head slightly.
“This is just a new toy. Be bold.” Her tone was relaxed. “Even if you drag over a nest of Dragons and slaughter them for entertainment, as long as it’s lively enough, I have no objections.”
Lilia felt her knees go weak.
“Understood.” She immediately stood straight and replied loudly, “I guarantee you’ll enjoy it to the fullest!”
No matter what, draw the biggest pie first—whether it could be baked was a problem for later.
Hera nodded in satisfaction and walked down the steps with long strides.
“Walk with me.”
Lilia hurried to follow, instantly switching into tour guide mode.
The two descended along the circular stands.
The stone steps beneath their feet were polished like mirrors, and the surrounding black pillars were engraved with intricate defensive runes—crafted by dwarf masters hired at great expense by Camilla.
It had to be said, although Camilla sometimes lacked brains, her aesthetic sense and spending power were impeccable.
The entire arena exuded a strange kind of beauty.
Hera reached out and plucked a white rose extending over the railing, bringing it to her nose to smell.
“Private boxes.” She pointed toward several panoramic crystal rooms floating midair. “That position is good.”
“That’s the Supreme VIP box!” Lilia perked up instantly—this was her proud design. “One-way perspective glass, built-in climate control, and top-tier Soundproof Barrier. You could even host a pa—cough, meeting in there, and no one outside would hear a thing.”
Hera cast her a half-smiling glance.
“?” She toyed with the flower. “You seem quite experienced.”
Lilia instantly shut up, wishing she could slap herself.
That mouth of hers—always saying the wrong thing.
After making a full round, Hera seemed fairly satisfied with this new toy.
Only when they returned to the entrance of the bedchamber did she stop.
“Arrange it within two days.”
She tossed out the instruction and pushed the door open, closing it with a “bang.”
Lilia stood in the corridor, staring at the closed door in disarray.
Two days?
You expect her to plan the opening ceremony, invite guests, set up the venue, arrange security, and find a few worthy victims to fight—all within two days?
Dragging her heavy steps, Lilia returned to her small room.
She lay on the bed, staring at the ceiling in a daze.
With a sigh, she pulled out a small notebook from her chest.
To create something “lively” enough to satisfy Hera within two days, low-level monsters pecking at each other wouldn’t cut it.
That kind of weak fight would only make Hera yawn—and then toss her down as a snack.
It had to be grand.
It needed hype, highlights, something that would shake even the old monsters of the Demon Realm.
Since it was an “opening ceremony,” it couldn’t just be a fight.
It was also a good opportunity to develop some entertainment industry on the side.
So the audience had to be high-tier.
If the seats were filled with Slimes and Goblins, she might as well turn the arena into a farm.
Lilia drew a circle on the paper and wrote “Guests.”
She needed big shots.
Only by gathering regional overlords and Abyss Lords could the atmosphere heat up.
Once those major figures arrived, all the smaller fry looking to curry favor would swarm in.
At that point, ticket sales alone would make her rich!
At the thought of money, Lilia’s previously lifeless eyes lit up instantly.
She sat up straight, biting her pen as she calculated.
In the Demon Realm, aside from Hera—the bug-level existence—there were the Four Great Demon Generals and several ancient monsters scattered across the lands.
Those old monsters were cunning as ghosts, usually hiding in their lairs. Getting them to move wouldn’t be easy.
Unless…
A figure in a purple dress with an impressive figure appeared in Lilia’s mind.
In terms of connections, scheming, and information flow, no one in the Demon Realm surpassed that woman.
Camilla.
Although Lilia had tricked her into spending a fortune on the arena, by now her anger had probably cooled… right?
Lilia glanced at the sky outside.
The moon was still high—just the beginning of Succubi nightlife.
No time like the present.
She tucked the notebook away, adjusted her maid outfit, and strode out confidently.
……
Succubus Tower.
As soon as she pushed open the gem-encrusted door, a sweet, cloying fragrance rushed toward her.
Camilla lay lazily on a velvet-covered couch, swirling a glass of crimson liquid in her hand.
Lucy, the priest girl Lilia had previously sold to her, knelt beside her with a lifeless expression, massaging her legs.
The moment Lucy saw Lilia, her eyes lit up like she had seen a savior, almost bursting into tears.
Camilla, on the other hand, only lifted her eyelids slightly, a trace of disdain flashing in her charming eyes.
“Hm?”
She spoke in a teasing tone, her voice so soft it made one’s bones melt. “What, weren’t the fish in the Black Sea enough to fill you up? Back again to plague me?”
She hadn’t forgotten how her obsidian monument had been turned into a signboard, nor how she had emptied her coffers to build that massive pit.
Lilia automatically filtered out the sarcasm, plastering on her brightest professional smile.
“Oh come on, Your Grace misses me so much—how could I not come?”
She walked over familiarly, plopping into a chair and grabbing a Top-Grade Magic Fruit from the platter to take a bite.
“Well, Her Majesty just inspected the arena and is very satisfied.”
At the mention of “Her Majesty,” Camilla’s lazy posture straightened slightly.
“Good.” She snorted. “After all, it was my money and my effort.”
“Of course, of course.” Lilia quickly flattered her. “Everyone in the Demon Realm knows that the Succubus Grand Duke is not only rich enough to rival nations but also unmatched in efficiency.”
“Cut it out.” Camilla rolled her eyes. “You don’t visit without reason. What does Her Majesty want this time?”
Lilia grinned, swallowing the fruit.
“Nothing major.”
She leaned closer, lowering her voice mysteriously.
“Her Majesty said that to celebrate the completion of the first grand structure in the Demon Realm, we’re holding an opening ceremony in two days.”
“For such a high-profile opportunity, you were the first person I thought of!”
Camilla looked at her suspiciously.
“Opening ceremony?”
“Exactly! When all demons gather, the scene will be spectacular.” Lilia began painting a grand picture. “Think about it—this arena was funded by you. If the opening is shabby, it’s your reputation on the line.”
Camilla took a sip of wine, thoughtful.
Even if she knew Lilia’s words were mostly nonsense, this part made sense.
She had already spent the money—if it didn’t make a splash, that would be the real loss.
“What do you want?” Camilla sat up straight, crossing her long legs, revealing a large expanse of fair, snowy-white skin.
Lilia snapped her fingers.
“I want to invite some ‘heavyweight’ guests.”
She pulled out her notebook and waved it.
“Those ancient vampires, the flame demons in the volcano…”
Each name she listed made Camilla’s lips twitch.
“Are you trying to start a war?” Camilla interrupted irritably.
“That’s exactly the problem!”
Lilia slapped her thigh, eyes blazing as she stared at Camilla.
“That’s why I came to you.”
“These old monsters are arrogant and reclusive. Only the endlessly charming Succubus Grand Duke could possibly have the face to bring them out, right?”
Flattery piled on flattery.
Camilla knew full well it was a provocation, but seeing Lilia’s eager, dependent expression still made her feel oddly pleased.
She set down her wine glass, twirling a strand of purple hair around her finger, a playful smile curling on her lips.
“You want me to help you gather people?”
“It’s not impossible.”
She extended a slender finger and lightly tapped Lilia’s forehead.
“But… you know, these guys don’t come cheap.”
“I can’t work for free, right?”
