After emptying the Siren’s treasury, Lilia’s System Backpack was now filled with enough gold coins to fill Hera’s bathtub.

Before, she had to be stingy out of necessity.

But now?

Now she was so poor that all she had left was money!

“Grand Duke, mind if I borrow your table for a moment?”

Lilia walked over to Camilla’s gem-studded dressing table and waved her hand.

Clatter—!

A crisp cascade of sounds instantly filled the room.

Golden light burst forth, nearly outshining the magic lamps.

Countless gold coins poured out like a waterfall from thin air, instantly burying the bottles and jars on the table, then spilling over the edges and rolling across the thick carpet with a constant jingling.

Camilla’s wine glass froze mid-sway.

Lucy, kneeling on the floor, opened her mouth wide enough to fit an egg.

But it wasn’t over yet.

Lilia casually waved her hand again.

Several fist-sized deep-sea luminous pearls, blood-red coral branches, and a few daggers radiating ancient magical fluctuations were tossed onto the pile of gold as if they were worthless trash.

“Is this enough?”

Lilia crossed her arms, slightly lifting her chin with the arrogant air of a nouveau riche.

“If it’s not, I’ve got more.”

Camilla finally snapped out of it.

She tossed her wine glass aside and practically dove into the pile of treasure.

Picking up a luminous pearl, she caressed it lovingly.

“Enough! More than enough!”

In a flash, she swept all the treasure off the table at lightning speed, leaving only afterimages, as if afraid Lilia might change her mind.

The laziness on her face vanished, replaced by an almost manic excitement.

“Oh my, Lilia dear, we’re practically sisters!” Camilla hooked her arm around Lilia’s, her attitude doing a complete one-eighty. “Leave this small matter to me!”

“Not only will I bring people, I’ll make sure they bring their finest treasures to show off too!”

Lilia pulled her arm back and subtly stepped away.

This woman’s enthusiasm was a bit overwhelming.

“Much appreciated.”

“Don’t worry. With this paving the way, everything will go smoothly.”

Lilia nodded in satisfaction.

So this was the joy of wealth power?

No wonder so many people wanted to be rich. This feeling was incredible—especially watching a usually high-and-mighty Grand Duke fawn over her. It was even better than eating ice-cold watermelon.

“Alright, I’ll head back to report.” Lilia waved her hand. “In two days, I want results.”

“Take care! Come visit often!”

Camilla personally escorted Lilia to the door, as enthusiastic as if she were sending off a god of wealth.

Only after Lilia’s figure disappeared down the corridor did Camilla’s smile slowly fade, returning to her shrewd demeanor.

She turned, looking at the room filled with gold, and snapped her fingers.

“Lucy, stop staring.”

“Go, bring out all my communication crystals.”

Lucy climbed up, still dazed. “Grand Duke… are we really going to spend all this money just to invite people?”

“Idiot!”

Camilla flicked her forehead. “Lilia may be generous, but she’s no fool. This money isn’t just for invitations—it’s to boost Hera’s prestige.”

“If this is done well, the status of our Succubus race in the Palace of Eternal Night will be as stable as a mountain. But if we mess it up…”

Camilla narrowed her eyes, recalling Hera’s cold golden gaze, and shivered.

For the next several hours, the top floor of the Succubus Tower remained brightly lit.

More than a dozen communication crystals floated before Camilla, each glowing with a different hue.

“Hello? Old bat? Stop sleeping! Big job… yeah, the new arena in the Palace of Eternal Night. Hera personally named you… what? Don’t want to move? Lady Lilia said if you don’t come, she’ll bring people to flip your coffin lid open and drag you out into the sun… yeah, yeah, appearance fee negotiable—ten high-tier blood essence stones, you in or not? …There we go!”

“Calling the forge… it’s your Aunt Camilla! Stop hammering and get over here with that broken hammer of yours… what, busy? Add five thousand gold coins… fine, remember to dress decently, don’t come stinking!”

“Old ghost… still gnawing bones? Stop chewing! There’s something fresh here… not corpses! Excitement! Big excitement!”

Camilla cursed while frantically jotting notes on parchment.

That night, the entire Demon Realm’s communication network nearly collapsed.

All kinds of reclusive ancient monsters and regional overlords received late-night greetings from the Succubus Grand Duke—laden with the scent of money and thinly veiled threats of death.

The night of the Palace of Eternal Night was destined to be anything but peaceful.

……

Meanwhile.

At the Sighing Mountains—

“ROAR—!!!”

A deafening dragon roar shattered the snow atop the canyon.

An avalanche thundered downward, only to be vaporized midair into white mist by a scorching shockwave.

A massive black dragon, large enough to blot out the sky, circled above the canyon.

Its scales were darker than the hardest obsidian, each one the size of a shield, veins of molten gold running across them.

This was a true pureblood black dragon—the apex of the Abyssal food chain.

Its blazing vertical pupils locked onto a patch of ground below.

There lay a pile of black ashes.

And a few bones gnawed clean.

The remnants of Lilia’s earlier “stone-grilled barbecue,” with even a faint lingering scent of cumin in the air.

“Dora…”

The dragon descended slowly, its massive body cracking the ground beneath it.

Lowering its head, it sniffed the familiar yet strange scent.

It was indeed the scent of its runaway daughter.

But mixed within it were other smells.

A nauseating human scent… and another—belonging to that madwoman’s maid.

The dragon’s pupils shrank sharply.

It smelled abduction.

“Damn insect…”

The dragon spoke, its voice like grinding boulders.

“You dare abduct my daughter…”

It raised its head, looking south.

Toward the Palace of Eternal Night.

Its massive wings spread, blotting out the blood moon. The violent pressure stripped layers of rock from the canyon walls.

“Hera…”

A low growl rumbled from its throat, filled with endless fury and killing intent.

“If even a single scale is missing from Dora, I’ll tear down your Palace of Eternal Night!”

Boom—!

A streak of black light shot into the sky like an inverted meteor, carrying destructive force as it rushed toward the Demon Capital.

……

Palace of Eternal Night, bedchamber.

Lilia had just finished counting money and was lying happily on her bed, dreaming of becoming a rich lady.

What she didn’t know was that on the distant horizon, a dark shadow was rapidly expanding—bringing with it a crushing pressure capable of destroying everything.
