After Pampering Her 5 Beast Husbands, the Villainess Struck It Rich
Chapter 242: Yan Yichen's Transformation
Lang Qiu grabbed his things and left the Wolf Clan.
But he didn’t actually leave. Instead, he circled around to the other side.
Lang Lie had headed in a direction with only one pass leading from the front of the mountain to the back. Lang Qiu immediately used the high-tech gadget Bai Zhi had given him to get there quickly.
It was much smaller than a Starship—smaller even than a helicopter. It could only fit one person, but it was incredibly fast.
After waiting for about half an hour, Lang Qiu finally heard sounds coming from inside the cave.
Seeing the light, Lang Lie quickened his pace and led the female out. Thinking he was safe, a smile began to form on his face, but it froze the very next second. He bristled, shouting, “Lang Qiu! What are you doing here?! Weren’t you on the front mountain?!”
At that moment, Lang Qiu was leaning against a tree across from them, his piercing gaze fixed on them. “Waiting for you.”
Lang Lie was speechless.
He ground his molars, not at all happy to see Lang Qiu.
“How could you have gotten here so fast from the front mountain?” Lang Lie demanded. “Without this pass, it would take hours to get here!”
Lang Qiu admitted it freely. “Right. I used a little gadget.”
Lang Lie was speechless again.
What made it even worse was the female beside him cooing, “Chief.”
He whipped his head around and saw the female he’d brought along staring at Lang Qiu, her eyes shining with adoration. He seethed with rage.
But just as he turned back, before his anger could even flare, Lang Qiu’s fist met his face.
THUD—
The female clearly hadn’t expected Lang Qiu to strike. She let out a terrified shriek. “Ahhh—”
Lang Lie was sent flying over a meter, not stopping until he slammed into the cave wall.
BANG—
ARGH—
Lang Lie had landed on his back. The pain made him curl up like a shrimp, his face contorted in agony.
Once he’d recovered slightly, Lang Lie scrambled up from the ground and snapped, “Lang Qiu, what the hell do you want? I’m not the one who drove them away! You hit me again, and I’m fighting back!”
Lang Qiu scoffed at his words and advanced on him. “Then go on, fight back! Nothing to do with you? You know damn well what you did. What really happened back then… do I need to remind you?”
The moment he finished speaking, he suppressed Lang Lie with his spiritual power and began laying into him, one brutal punch after another.
Eventually, that wasn’t enough for Lang Qiu. He began channeling his superpower into his fists.
Lang Lie was beaten to a pulp. Lang Qiu was truly settling all the old scores—for what had happened before, and for what had been done to Lang Tai and the others.
By the end, Lang Lie was beaten half to death. If Lang Qiu hadn’t promised the old chief he would never harm the Wolf Clan, he would never have let them off so easily today.
Lang Qiu straightened up, his fists still stained with Lang Lie’s blood. The female was cowering in a corner, too scared to make a sound.
Lang Qiu looked at Lang Lie’s pathetic state, then pulled out a tissue to wipe his hands clean. His anger finally vented, he let out a cold snort, tossed the blood-stained tissue next to Lang Lie, and walked away.
Years ago, he’d already lost interest in that position within the Wolf Clan. Now, he had none at all.
Having settled things, Lang Qiu rushed back without a moment’s delay. He had promised Bai Zhi he would be back soon.
When Bai Zhi’s father had rescued him, he had promised to be her most loyal guard. But now… things seemed to have changed.
He was still loyal, but he was starting to have ideas about overstepping his station.
Lang Qiu arrived back on the Main Star in the early hours of the next morning. It was the weekend, so Bai Zhi had a rare night off. Waking up thirsty in the middle of the night, she went downstairs to get some water. She was still on the staircase when a voice suddenly asked, “Can’t sleep?”
Bai Zhi, still groggy with sleep, was shocked wide awake by the voice. Her foot was already reaching for the next step, but the sudden sound made her miss her footing, and she went tumbling forward.
Bai Zhi let out a terrified scream. “Ahhh—”
Lang Qiu leaped forward, catching Bai Zhi and pulling her into his arms.
Bai Zhi had been sure she was going to fall. She’d even squeezed her eyes shut, resigned to the fact that her face was about to be ruined. But the next moment, she landed in a familiar embrace.
The familiar scent made Bai Zhi’s eyes snap open. She stared up at Lang Qiu in delighted surprise. “You’re back?”
Lang Qiu gazed down at her smiling face, and that swelling feeling in his chest returned. His Adam’s apple bobbed as he swallowed. “Mhm. I finished what I had to do, so I came back.”
