Chapter 803: Chapter 803 - Voren, you should see Jasmine’s wolf

The aroma of freshly prepared food drifted through the suite, filling the air with a warm, inviting scent that made Voren stop in the doorway.

For a moment, he stood there, torn between the irresistible temptation of the dining table and his desperate need to take a shower. Before he could make up his mind, Espe settled the matter for him by wrapping her tiny hands around his neck and looking up at him.

"Daddy, you need to shower."

He had barely gotten the chance to reach for his wife, pull her into his arms, steal a kiss, and demand to know what she was up to with this unexpected surprise when the little girl in his arms made it clear that she wasn’t about to let him have his way.

With a reluctant smile, he lowered her to the floor and watched her scamper toward the dining room before casting an envious glance at Bryan, who was already seated at the table with a fork in his hand, looking perfectly comfortable and clearly enjoying the advantage of being there first.

"I’ll make it quick," Voren promised, already turning toward the hallway.

His response earned a burst of laughter from Seraphine and the children, who were already settling into their seats around the dining table. Seraphine helped the kids arrange their plates, making sure everyone had enough food before giving them an affectionate smile.

"Eat up. I’ll have Mom come and get you later. I have something important to discuss with your father."

Espe immediately scrunched up her face, pushing out her lower lip in an unmistakable pout.

"We already know the secret."

Seraphine couldn’t help laughing at her daughter’s confident announcement. Unfortunately, the children didn’t know nearly as much as they thought they did.

What they had discovered was only a small piece of the surprise, a single part of something much bigger, and there was another detail she had deliberately kept to herself because it was something only her mate would truly understand.

Rather than explain anything, she simply let the conversation end there, keeping the precious secret tucked safely inside her heart until the right moment came.

Voren took his time in the shower, allowing the hot water to run over his shoulders as the bathroom gradually filled with steam.

He had spent enough time away from his family, and now that he was home, he wanted nothing more than to enjoy every moment with them without having to worry about anything else.

By the time he emerged, dressed and refreshed, Seraphine had already mindlinked Madison and asked her to come and pick up the children.

"Where are they?" Voren asked as he entered the dining area, his eyes immediately searching the room for the two little people whose presence never failed to brighten his day.

"I asked Mom to come and get them," Seraphine replied as she served him his food.

Voren was about to sit down when he noticed something unusual. Her plate was still completely untouched, and judging by the way she had arranged everything, it was obvious that she hadn’t even started eating.

"You haven’t eaten yet?"

"I was waiting for you," she answered, unable to hide the excitement in her voice as her eyes sparkled with anticipation.

Voren’s brows drew together immediately, his expression changing from curiosity to concern as he pulled out the chair beside her.

"You know you shouldn’t do that."

Without waiting for an argument, he exchanged their plates and placed the one containing the food in front of her, making it clear that he wanted her to eat before anything else.

"You eat first."

His hand then moved naturally toward her belly, as though he couldn’t help being drawn to the pupss growing inside her. The moment his palm settled against her stomach, he felt it.

A kick.

It was strong, unmistakable, and enough to make his entire body go still as excitement rushed through him. His eyes widened, and a delighted smile spread across his face as he kept his hand where it was, hoping to feel it again.

"Was that a kick? I’ve been waiting so long to feel one this strong!"

"I know, right? It started as soon as we got back, and the kids were so excited when they felt it. Espe even ran back to call you because she wanted you to feel it too."

Voren finally understood why Esperanza had come looking for him earlier, especially the urgency in her little voice and the way she had insisted that he come with her. She hadn’t simply wanted him to return to the dining room. She had been trying to share something wonderful with him.

Seraphine watched his reaction with a happy smile before adding another detail that made his expression even more delighted.

"But you know what? It got even stronger when you touched my belly."

"That’s because I’m their father," Voren declared proudly, his chest swelling with satisfaction as though the babies had already recognized his presence and decided to give him a special greeting.

Seraphine burst into laughter, enjoying how pleased he looked with himself. Voren picked up his fork and began feeding her, making sure she took a few bites before turning his attention to his own meal.

"I miss you, V," she murmured between bites, her voice soft but carrying a meaning that was impossible for him to misunderstand.

Voren’s gaze immediately darkened with desire. He knew exactly what she was talking about, and judging by the way she was looking at him, she had been thinking about it just as much as he had.

"Well, I missed you too. Dangerously much, actually. And if you let me, I could easily go four rounds."

Seraphine laughed, already preparing to give him an answer, but before she could say anything, Marsha’s voice interrupted her through their mindlink.

’Careful. I’m already using so much energy now. The pups are growing stronger and more powerful.’

Seraphine’s laughter became a little strained as she considered her wolf’s warning. She glanced at Voren, whose expression suggested he had absolutely no intention of giving up on his proposal, before deciding that she needed to negotiate a more reasonable arrangement.

"Marsha doesn’t agree with four rounds. Let’s make it two," she suggested, her cheeks growing warm.

Voren leaned closer, bringing his freshly washed scent within easy reach of her nose. The familiar fragrance of his shampoo mixed with his natural scent, making it even harder for her to concentrate on the argument she had just made.

"You know one round could take hours, don’t you? I’ll pardon you."

Seraphine’s laughter died almost immediately, and her eyes widened as she realized the full meaning behind his words. She knew her husband well enough to understand that he wasn’t exaggerating.

Voren could easily spend the entire night on a single round if he wanted to, particularly when he was in a good mood and looking at her with that unmistakable expression.

"I take it back. One round only."

Voren threw his head back and laughed, clearly pleased with the outcome of their little negotiation, before finally settling down to enjoy his meal after making sure she had eaten enough.

The rest of the evening passed peacefully, with the house eventually growing quiet as they retired to their bedroom and devoted their attention to each other.

By the time Voren was done with the single round he had promised, Seraphine was covered in hickeys, her skin flushed from their intimacy, and her body so thoroughly exhausted that she could barely find the energy to complain about how much he had enjoyed himself.

They slept like babies, wrapped around each other and completely oblivious to everything happening beyond their bedroom. In fact, they were so comfortable in each other’s arms that they didn’t even bother showing up for training the following morning.

By the third day, Voren was still reluctant to leave his wife’s side. He knew Seraphine too well to believe that she would not simply spend the day resting once he was gone.

The moment she had the opportunity, she would find something to occupy herself with, whether it involved pack responsibilities, her work, or one of the many projects she always seemed to have running. She had a habit of throwing herself into whatever needed attention until she forgot that she was supposed to be taking care of herself, and he had no intention of encouraging that behavior by leaving her alone for too long.

Unfortunately, no matter how much he wanted to keep enjoying their time together, there were responsibilities they couldn’t continue putting off forever.

They eventually had to turn their attention to pack matters, especially when Kael’s voice suddenly came through Voren’s mindlink, carrying an urgency that immediately caught his attention.

’Voren, you should see Jasmine’s wolf.’
