Chapter 1632: Hate Spreads

  • Next Chapter

United City (Tier-3 Sub-Post)

The outcome of the battles had already spread across the city. Except for the first one, the other nine battlefields had faced devastating defeats.

The warriors from the first battlefield shared shocking news with others. The media houses got their answers from them.

They told them that Zack Lockwood had defeated the Venom Maws and killed all of them in the end.

He had won the battle alone, thus saving the lives of the others in the first battlefield. His victory made the first secret land eject them first.

Following that, the battles in the other secret lands ended one by one.

If not for Zack Lockwood, the warriors in the other nine secret land battlefields would have faced complete death.

Because of Zack Lockwood, a couple of strong warriors were able to escape.

If Zack Lockwood hadn’t killed the Venom Maws, even they would have faced death as well. The news shocked the locals and other warriors.

The warriors who survived the other nine battlefields were grateful to Zack Lockwood. But there were others who started to put the blame on Zack Lockwood.

Before Zack Lockwood joined here, there were no elite races in the battles. They were fighting against foreign creatures lower than the elite races.

Even then, those foreign creatures had posed a great threat. They were fighting hard to survive back then. Now, even survival had become much harder for them.

If not for the appearance of Zack Lockwood, they believed a greater number of warriors could have survived.

So, hatred started to mount toward Zack Lockwood. Some news reporters were slandering Zack Lockwood.

They didn’t target the foreign creatures or their own incompetence. The news was gaining traction as well. It was noticed by the administration staff and the council elders as well.

They felt it was not good news; otherwise, they would have to come up with new orders.

...

Residence

I was resting on the sofa. I had taken a bath earlier. Right now, my mind is blank. I didn’t want to think about anything else.

Feeling my mood, the ancient spirit remained silent.

In order not to overthink, I began to run the incomplete ancient healing technique. The healing force drifted toward my body.

It had a mix of the special energy as well.

When the force entered my body, I started guiding the healing force along the route.

As the healing force flowed inside my body, the hidden superficial injuries were healed.

The special energy added more warmth. Slowly, I completely stopped thinking about the outside news. I immersed myself in the process.

Time passed.

Unknowingly, I started to gain inspiration in understanding the healing technique. This healing technique was an incomplete one, but an ancient one.

I didn’t let go of the inspiration. Instead, I continued to focus on it. The healing power slowly affected my veins. The healing power was disappearing into the veins bit by bit.

It was the special power Main Elder Ann had spoken of.

The ancient spirit, which was quiet earlier, saw the changes as well. It was taken aback.

"What is this?" the ancient spirit wondered.

It knew about the inheritances practiced by Zack Lockwood. So, it knew the healing method given by his Elder. But it was an incomplete method.

The incomplete Chapter had only internal circulation. Zack Lockwood could not use the energy created by the incomplete ancient healing technique to heal others.

Last time, he had used the Healing Hand, which was his first healing technique, to heal the injured warriors.

It recognized that the current technique, which was incomplete, was not ordinary at all.

"I thought his healing element was lagging behind, but it’s going to improve next," the ancient spirit thought.

As time passed, the veins absorbed the healing energy. They were becoming much stronger. They were not normal veins anymore, but special veins.

The ancient spirit couldn’t wait to see the effects.

One hour later,

I opened my eyes. A hint of disappointment flashed. The inspiration had ended sooner than I thought.

Next, I checked my veins. I found that my veins were better than before.

They were stronger and wider. But I knew the improvement was not over; they could be strengthened even more. I recalled Elder Ann’s words.

She told me that if I could fully master the ancient healing inheritance, I might get special powers.

Then I collected my thoughts and got up from the sofa. The flood of thoughts about the battlefield came to mind.

I looked around and saw the clock. It was nighttime. Then I decided to watch the news. I didn’t know what developments had taken place.

Bell!

Just before I could turn on the big screen, I heard the sound of the doorbell. Hearing that, I shifted my attention and walked up to the door.

I didn’t know who was ringing the bell at this hour of the night.

Creak!

I opened the door and saw a middle-aged woman. The person was none other than Elder Marie.

"Elder, what are you doing here?" I asked her.

Marie saw me and said, "Council Elder Rowena wants to see you right now."

"Council Elder," I uttered.

Next, my gaze fell on her left arm. It was injured.

Then I thought of the Venom Maw Elite Race and the battlefield. It was possible that they might have foreseen the upcoming trouble.

If the situation was not resolved, then more elite races could appear next time.

"Okay," I said to her.

Next, I followed her out. Soon, we left the residential building and reached the street outside.

We hopped inside the cab and started heading toward our destination. In the cab, Marie didn’t speak a word.

In fact, she was shaken by the battle. Her left arm was broken. She had paid the price for fighting against the Venom Maws.

All she could do was defend and avoid the attacks. Marie herself didn’t know how she had survived. But she was shocked by something else as well.

She had heard that Zack Lockwood won against the Venom Maw Elite Race. He had won the battle in the First Secret Land Battlefield.
