Chapter 1633: Part 1: Facing the Council Elders

United City (Tier-3 Sub Post)

The cab reached the destination twenty minutes later. When the cab came to a halt, we exited. Senior Marie paid the fare to the cab driver.

From beginning to end, the cab driver didn’t speak a single word, which was really surprising.

Next, we turned around and saw a high-rise building in front of us. The towering glass building was none other than the Council Office.

We came to the entrance and walked inside. Inside was a wide, spacious lobby. Senior Marie led me directly toward the elevator.

I quietly followed her from behind. Then we entered the lift. Marie pressed the button for the 50th floor. The 50th floor was extremely high.

I waited there. Marie didn’t speak a word again; she seemed to be traumatized by the experience.

Soon, the lift stopped at the 50th floor. The lift doors opened, and we walked outside. There was only one big door a couple of meters away from us.

I thought it must be some kind of hall, because there were no other rooms on this floor. We approached the door. Marie opened it and went inside.

Seeing that, I did the same. The next second, a wide, spacious hall greeted me. In the center of the hall was a huge round table.

There were people seated behind the round table in their respective positions. Their auras were all at the Peak of the Red Mark, but I felt a tinge of threat from them.

Which baffled me. I had never felt threatened by anyone in the United City; it was the first time. Then I saw Senior Marie walking up to an old woman.

The old woman was wearing a uniform of similar design to hers, but the color was different. Her uniform had a red moon color.

Seeing that, my eyes gleamed with a twinkle. I spotted the red moon badge on her. Then I felt piercing gazes from the people seated in the chairs.

At this point, I understood that the rest of the people were elders as well. I did not shy away from meeting their gazes. My gaze passed over them.

I noticed that they were all from other universities as well. I even spotted elders from Star University, but I didn’t recognize their faces.

To be honest, I should have gotten help from the Star University elders, but I got help from the Red Moon Tower people instead. I snorted inwardly.

On the other hand, the elders were all assessing Zack Lockwood, and their initial reaction was unfathomable. They couldn’t completely see through the young man.

Instead, they felt a sense of danger. Even the elders from Dark Shadow University, Giant Tower, Eclipse, and Silver University had the same experience.

Even the elders of Star University were speechless. They felt a sense of crisis facing Zack Lockwood.

"These people are trying to see through your dantian, but I have blocked them," the ancient spirit’s voice said.

Hearing that, I thanked the ancient spirit. But I knew there was one person outside who knew my secret. That person was none other than Senior Silas. I wondered if he had given the information to others.

If he had died in battle, it would have been better.

Suddenly, an old woman walked up to me. She was none other than Elder Rowena. Marie was standing behind her.

"Young man, my name is Rowena. I’m an elder from Red Moon University," she introduced herself.

"I’m Zack Lockwood," I replied.

"You know the whole United City is terrified right now. The changes in the secret land battlefield have affected everyone. We have lost more than 200 Red Mark Warriors," she said.

"Those numbers are not easy to replace," she added.

Hearing that, my heart stirred. But I was not entirely responsible. Even before me, the foreign creatures were winning the battles.

It was just that my arrival had caused them to shift gears.

I was quiet for some time. I didn’t know what to say.

Rowena saw through my thoughts and said, "It’s not your fault, but I’m stating the current reality. If you continue to stay here, the changes in the battlefield will become even more dangerous."

"So we, the council elders, have decided to do something about it. We have decided to send you to the main post," she added.

Hearing that, I was shocked. Even Marie widened her eyes in disbelief. She couldn’t believe what she was hearing. No one could enter the main post.

It was because the concentration of special energy was higher there.

On the other hand, I had the same doubt.

"What is she thinking?" I thought.

"The special energy in that place is high. It will destroy your body," the ancient spirit’s voice warned.

The facial expressions of the elders didn’t change. They had discussed it earlier; the decision was unanimous. They couldn’t afford to have Zack Lockwood participate in the secret land battlefield anymore.

"I heard that the special energy there can kill a Purple Mark Warrior. I haven’t reached the Half-Step Red Mark yet," I said to her.

Rowena nodded and said, "That’s why you are not going to enter the place directly."

"We will provide you with resources to reach the Half-Step Red Mark as soon as possible. Until then, you will be living here. It’s just that you are no longer allowed to enter the battlefield," Rowena said.

"We are doing this for the safety of everyone, including yours. We have seen the battle footage. You indeed killed the Venom Maws. We guessed it must be related to your powerful ancient inheritance and your natural talent with lightning," Rowena said.

Hearing that, my heart stirred again. I didn’t expect that. They could watch the battle footage; it was surprising to me. No wonder they had come to this conclusion.

Apart from me, no one had stood against the Venom Maw.

At this time, one of the elders spoke from the table, "We have made this decision after careful consideration. Once you reach Half-Step Red Mark Warrior, we believe you can withstand the power of the special energy inside the main post."

Hearing that, I turned toward the speaker and saw he was wearing the uniform of Star University. I nodded to him.
