Chapter : 714

The Solurius Behemoth stopped moving . It lay perfectly still at the bottom of the glass trench. It did not twitch. It did not make a single sound. The rusted metal gears stopped grinding.

Ken stopped chewing his next gummy ring. He blinked his sleepy dark eyes. He looked at the giant monster. He noticed something very strange.

"This is wrong," Ken analyzed casually in his mind. He buried his hands deep into his pockets. "The boss is not disappearing. In a normal video game, the defeated monster turns into shiny pixels. The body fades away. But this giant metal guy is just lying there. The health bar did not actually hit zero."

Ken slouched his posture even more. He frowned a lazy frown.

"The developers are doing a fake-out," Ken reasoned smoothly to himself. "This is a classic second phase trick. The boss pretends to be dead. The players drop their guard. Then the boss wakes up with a brand new health bar. I hate multiple phase boss fights. They require too much cardio. We just used all our best combo moves."

Suddenly, the air inside the laboratory changed.

A loud, sucking sound filled the room. It sounded like a massive vacuum cleaner turning on.

The thick, toxic yellow mist from the surface began to swirl. The deadly Solurius radiation drifted down from the ceiling. The fog moved fast. It rushed directly toward the center of the room. It rushed toward the glass trench.

"What is happening to the mist?" Risa asked nervously. The sweet pink-haired healer hugged her brown teddy bear. She squeezed her glowing white purification shard. "The bad air is moving."

Sayma looked at her digital tool. Her dark eyes widened in shock. She pushed her glasses up frantically.

"The ambient radiation levels are dropping," Sayma reported loudly. Her polite voice cracked with sudden alarm. "The toxic mist is not just blowing around. The creature is actively pulling the radiation into its own body!"

Gargantua absorbed the Solurius radiation from the air. The beast acted like a giant, toxic sponge. It sucked the poisoned yellow fog right out of the atmosphere. It pulled the residual radiation from the cracked floor tiles.

The monster consumed the raw, toxic energy of the wasteland.

The glowing green core in the center of its chest reacted instantly. The core burned brighter and brighter. The light grew blinding. The slow, terrifying heartbeat sound returned.

Thump. Thump. Thump.

The heartbeat grew much faster. It echoed loudly through the entire underground facility. The toxic green sludge on the monster's armor started to bubble violently.

"Get back!" Princess Iris commanded fiercely. She raised her silver rapier again. The holy light from her core shard pushed back against the blinding green glow. "It is waking up! Form a defensive line!"

The 13th Unit scrambled backward. They realized their victory was a total illusion.

The monster began to change. The massive amounts of absorbed radiation triggered an instant, miraculous healing process.

The 13th Unit watched in total dismay.

The snapped, rusted metal of its left knee joint moved on its own. The broken steel girders twisted and bent back into place. The metal fused together perfectly. The deep cut marks from Naomi's silver daggers vanished . The steel smoothed out. It looked brand new.

The melted glass on the floor did not matter anymore. The monster did not need friction.

The toxic green sludge flowed rapidly over the repaired joints. The sludge hardened. It formed a fresh, thick layer of radioactive armor. All the damage from Zinia's rocks disappeared. The scorch marks from Laxmi's fire faded away . The dents from Luna's wind blasts popped back out.

"It is fixing itself!" Laxmi yelled in frustration. She stomped her foot on the ground. "That is unfair! We broke its leg! It cannot just glue it back together!"

"It possesses cellular regeneration," Sayma deduced quickly. She typed on her small keyboard. "The Solurius radiation acts as a biological repair agent. It is converting the toxic air into pure structural health. The creature is healing all sustained damage."

Gargantua regenerated . In less than ten seconds, the giant monster looked untouched. It looked even stronger than before. The green core on its chest burned like a toxic sun.

The giant steel arms reached out. The monster grabbed the edges of the deep glass trench. The metal fingers crushed the smooth glass instantly. The glass shattered into a million tiny pieces.

Gargantua pulled its massive body up. The monster climbed out of the trap effortlessly. The slippery floor meant nothing to the beast now.

The Solurius Behemoth stood tall in the center of the laboratory again. It towered over the girls. The toxic green sludge dripped onto the white tiles. The floor melted and hissed.

Ken sat on his broken piece of concrete. He put his gummy ring back into his plastic bag. He let out a long, dramatic sigh.

"I knew it," Ken complained lazily to himself. He crossed his ankles. "Phase two is officially starting. The boss got a full health restore. The boss got a massive stat buff. Now the boss is going to use new attack patterns. This is going to be a massive annoyance. I should have stayed on the transport vehicle. The transport vehicle had comfortable seats."

The 13th Unit stared up at the fully healed monster. Their previous strategy was ruined. Their combo attack meant nothing. The giant beast was back to full strength. The real nightmare of the poison swamp was just beginning.

---

Gargantua did not wait for the girls to attack. The giant monster took the initiative immediately.

The Solurius Behemoth raised both of its massive steel fists high into the air. The toxic green sludge bubbled violently on its knuckles. The beast brought its fists crashing down onto the pristine white floor tiles.

BAM.

The impact was colossal. The beast slammed its fists into the ground with terrifying force. The entire underground laboratory shook wildly.

A massive, violent shockwave erupted from the point of impact. The shockwave rippled outward in a perfect circle. The polished white tiles shattered . The solid concrete beneath the tiles cracked and splintered. The ground literally rolled like a wave in the ocean.

The physical shockwave traveled directly toward the 13th Unit.

"Brace yourselves!" Naomi shouted loudly.

Naomi planted her combat boots firmly into the ground. She tried to hold her balance. The shockwave hit her legs. The immense kinetic force tossed her off balance. She stumbled backward. She almost fell over. She waved her arms to stay upright.

Zinia stomped her boots. She tried to raise a solid rock wall to block the tremor. "Earth Shield!" Zinia roared.

A small gray rock wall shot up from the floor. But the ground was too unstable. The shockwave shattered the rock wall instantly. The gray stones crumbled into dust. Zinia lost her footing. The strong earth mage fell to her knees.

Laxmi shrieked loudly. The sudden earthquake threw the fire user off her feet. She tumbled backward onto the broken tiles. She dropped her bright orange flames.
