Chapter 465: Chapter 465: Head Bump

Noon arrived quickly, and with it, lunchtime. But Lily Hart had already eaten quite a bit that morning.

There was the breakfast Owen Warren made: soup dumplings, wontons, and steamed egg custard.

After that, she’d had several bowls of soup and then tossed back two strong drinks at the bar. Now, she had absolutely no appetite.

Frost Shaw asked worriedly, "How about I make you some millet congee and snow fungus soup? You can have it this afternoon if you get hungry, okay?"

Lily Hart gave him a playful shove. "Why are you nagging me like a mother hen?"

"..." Frost Shaw sighed helplessly. He was completely at her mercy.

Even though she hadn’t said yes or no to eating, Frost Shaw was going to make it anyway.

He stood up, and before heading to the kitchen, he didn’t forget to plant a kiss on her cheek.

Lily Hart watched him go into the kitchen, casually wiped her cheek, and flopped back onto the sofa.

She let out a long sigh. ’This is the life!’

Eat, sleep, and repeat, with so many shops to browse and snack in.

’There will definitely be even more shops in the future. Enough to walk my legs off in a single day.’

Lily Hart thought gleefully, her mind already picturing her future business empire.

’No matter the shop, the food, or the product, I’ll have it all! I’ll be able to provide everything!’

’My only problem then will be deciding which shop to visit, which one to eat at.’

Just thinking about it filled Lily Hart with delight.

Lost in her thoughts, the corners of her mouth curled up unconsciously. She didn’t even notice Roman Rowe coming upstairs.

Nor did she see him quietly bend down, sneak behind the sofa, and then suddenly pop up.

"BOO—" Roman Rowe yelled, trying to startle Lily Hart.

He succeeded. Lily Hart was so startled she shot upright.

"THUD—" Their heads collided with a dull sound.

Lily Hart clutched her forehead, and Roman Rowe his left temple. The pain was so bad they both felt like crying, their eyes welling up with tears.

"Oww! Roman Rowe, are you crazy? Why would you scare me like that for no reason?" Lily Hart fumed.

She cursed him out while still holding her head, but it wasn’t enough to vent her frustration, so she grabbed a throw pillow and hurled it at him.

Seeing she was in pain too, Roman Rowe quickly reached out to pry her hands away from her forehead. "Let me see."

Lily Hart dropped her hands and let him look, her lips pouted and her face sullen.

’My newly imagined business empire just came crashing down!’

Roman Rowe had a hard head. The collision left a red, swollen bump on the right side of Lily Hart’s forehead.

He wanted to laugh, but he also felt terrible for her. His own minor pain was nothing in comparison.

He reached out to rub it but pulled his hand back, deciding instead to get an ice pack.

Roman Rowe rushed into the kitchen in a panic, bustling about so frantically that Frost Shaw kept glancing over at him.

Frost Shaw stopped chopping vegetables. "What are you doing?"

The words felt strangely familiar as he said them, but he quickly pushed the thought aside.

Because he then heard Roman Rowe say, "Oh god, I gave Boss Hart a bump on her forehead! It’s this big!"

He held up his hand, making a small circle with his thumb and forefinger.

Frost Shaw’s eyes went wide, and he immediately started scolding him. "You—! Ugh, hurry up! Get an ice pack and wrap it in a towel for Lily Hart."

Knowing he was in the wrong, Roman Rowe obediently did as he was told. Working together, they had it ready in no time.

The towel-wrapped ice pack was quickly delivered to Lily Hart’s forehead by the two of them.

The cold made Lily Hart flinch. She shot Roman Rowe a resentful glare. "This is all your fault."

Roman Rowe accepted it all. "Yes, yes, it’s all my fault, all my fault. Does it still hurt?"

"It hurts!" Lily Hart snapped, and getting angry only made it seem to hurt more.

She gave up on the idea of scolding him further and obediently held the ice pack. Actually, she didn’t even need to hold it.

Frost Shaw was holding it for her.

Feeling like a third wheel and afraid of upsetting Lily Hart again, Roman Rowe beat a hasty retreat to the kitchen to stir-fry the vegetables.

’Better to stick to my area of expertise and shine there!’

Frost Shaw looked at her, his eyes full of concern. "How is it? Does it still hurt? Is it any better?"

Lily Hart nodded. As long as she didn’t think about it, it wasn’t so bad.

She leaned back against the sofa, and Frost Shaw moved the ice pack along with her.

He was facing forward, so when Lily Hart leaned back, he appeared upside-down to her.

’Frost Shaw isn’t bad-looking from this angle, either.’ Lily Hart now had something to distract her.

She began to study Frost Shaw intently.

’Look at that sharp jawline, those perfectly rounded, pink earlobes... Every part of him is so good-looking.’

"Frost Shaw?" Lily Hart called out.

"Hm? What is it? Does it hurt a lot? Should we go to the clinic?" Frost Shaw asked anxiously the moment he heard her.

Lily Hart listened patiently to his string of questions, then said, "Kiss me."

"Huh?" The confused sound had barely left Frost Shaw’s lips, but his mouth moved faster than his brain, and he was already kissing her.

They had never tried this position before.

One upright, one upside-down. As Frost Shaw kissed her lips, the tip of his nose could almost touch her neck.

And the tip of Lily Hart’s nose could just touch his Adam’s apple. It was a strange experience.

The kiss was as light as a dragonfly skimming the water.

Worried that she was in pain, Frost Shaw didn’t let it last long.

But Lily Hart was satisfied. Murmuring contentedly, she sat up straight again. After a moment’s thought, she said, "Let’s go to the clinic."

She didn’t want to keep icing it, nor did she want to be in pain.

The two of them stood up. In the kitchen, it was as if Roman Rowe sensed something.

He immediately turned to look out and saw their backs as they headed outside together.

Roman Rowe didn’t care about stir-frying anymore. He put down the kitchen knife, took off his apron, and washed his hands.

Then he wiped them casually on his clothes and hurried after them.

"Hey, hey, hey! Where are you two going?" Roman Rowe shouted, breaking into a run to catch up.

Lily Hart shot him a glare before answering huffily, "To the clinic! To get rid of this bump!"

Roman Rowe didn’t dare look at the bump, afraid he’d burst out laughing. He could only nod repeatedly. "I’m coming too!"

Under Lily Hart’s fierce gaze, Roman Rowe made his case. "It is my shop, after all, isn’t it?"

"Yes, yes, fine, fine," Lily Hart said dismissively, turning to leave.

The three of them arrived at the clinic. The line wasn’t long; the people from Central Command weren’t due to arrive until the afternoon.

Lily Hart’s injury wasn’t serious, so she just picked the shortest line.

Frost Shaw and Roman Rowe naturally followed her, lining up right behind her.

Soon, it was Lily Hart’s turn. She lay down in the Treatment Pod like a pro while Frost Shaw paid with a Crystal Core.

A moment later, the door of the Treatment Pod opened, and Roman Rowe conscientiously offered her a hand to help her up.

Lily Hart haughtily refused his help, letting out a cold snort and bypassing his hand completely.

Of course, she didn’t take Frost Shaw’s hand either, simply scrambling out on her own.

Just as expected, she was good as new. The bump on her forehead was gone, and she couldn’t feel a trace of pain.

Lily Hart jumped around energetically a couple of times. She felt so full of life, she could go for three days and three nights without sleep!

The three of them returned happily to the lottery shop, where Leo Colby and Owen Warren had already arrived.

Seeing the trio walk in together, they both asked in unison, "Where did you guys go?"

Lily Hart answered bluntly, "To heal an injury."

Owen Warren’s eyes went wide. "What happened to you? I haven’t seen you all morning, and you already got hurt?"
