Chapter 38: Hell

Terry mustered all the strength he had and instead of creating only sharp metallic rods from his hand, he started to create a huge metallic block out of nowhere.

When the block became half his height, he lunged at the mutated wolf that was in front of him with it.

Slam.

He raised his arms and slammed the block of metal down onto the head of the mutated wolf.

The metallic block was able to withstand the flames protecting the mutated wolf and the impact crushed the head of the mutated wolf onto the ground.

Seeing that the mutated wolf was stuck on the ground, Terry wasted no time and lifted the metallic block again.

Then, he slammed it down onto the head of the mutated wolf with all of his strength.

Crack.

The impact caused the skull of the mutated wolf to fracture and the cracking sound of it could be heard.

Blood oozed out from the wound and mouth of the mutated wolf.

The flames that were engulfing the mutated wolf’s body died out in the next few moments.

Terry stood up straight and lifted his head high with what he did and he glanced over at Riley to see how Riley was doing.

Riley had created bubbles that were even larger than what he had done before.

These bubbles were at least one meter in diameter.

Terry’s eyes opened wide and he shouted at Riley, "Wait! Are you sure the explosion wouldn’t get to us?!"

He desperately wanted to stop Riley since the bubbles seemed to be too huge, but it was too late.

The bubbles flew towards the mutated wolf that was coming at Riley in an instant.

And when the bubbles hit into the mutated wolf, an explosion that shook the ground ensued.

Boom!

Windows in the surrounding buildings shattered from it.

A gust of wind blew when the shock wave rippled outwards from the explosion.

Riley, being so close to it, had to leap away from the shock wave to make sure that he wouldn’t be hurt by it.

Terry and Brian cursed at him when the shock wave traveled through their bodies.

If not for the fact that they were S Level Awakened, they would have been seriously hurt by it.

Alex who was furthest away could also feel the shock wave but it wasn’t too much of a big deal for him.

Being an SSS Level Awakened, his physique was many times better than Terry and Brian.

"I told you it would be too much! You better warn us next time when you use it again." Terry gave out a few coughs, pointed at Riley and shouted.

Brian nodded his head vigorously at what Terry had said.

Riley shrugged his shoulders at his friends and said, "Hey, don’t blame me.

"It’s my first time trying it out.

"And as the saying goes, you either go too fast or get too excited when it’s your first time."

Both Terry and Brian rolled their eyes at him and said, "Now, we think you were doing it on purpose."

While they were bantering, Alex wasn’t busy with what’s going on in his mind.

A familiar sound had erupted in his mind and information panels with words had appeared in it.

[Congratulations Host for killing off 1 mutated beast.]

[Dispensing rewards now:]

[10x bottles of water.]

[All items are stored in your storage space now.]

7 more kills to go.

When he saw the number of kills he had left to make, Alex started to reminisce the days when the mutated rats were in abundance for him to kill.

Well, at least he did what he could in the earlier days of the apocalypse. Alex thought and gave out a sigh before walking over to his friends.

He was glad that their abilities had gotten even stronger, just like how the mutated wolves had.

"I guess I can count on you guys from now on." Alex said and patted on the shoulders of Terry and Brian.

"Definitely, you can sit back and relax while we do all of the work." Terry thumped his chest and said.

Brian, being his money-loving self for a moment, shook his head at Alex instead and said jokingly, "You know me. It would have to come at a price."

"How about more steaks for dinner?" Alex said and it didn’t take long for Brian to nod at him with a grin.

"Then, let’s get it done and get back to the dorm as soon as possible." Alex said and they continued their way towards the school of medicine.

Meanwhile, in the once clean and tidy office of the head of medical school, an old man, wearing his gold rimmed glasses, sat in his seat with his eyes closed.

Classical music filled the air and the old man tapped his fingers on the table to the rhythm of the music.

He was happily immersed in it.

When the music slowly softened and stopped, sobbing sound could be heard instead.

The sobbing sound came from right in front of his desk where a young student was sitting on the ground and shaking uncontrollably.

Ignoring her, the old man sat up straight, took out his gold rimmed glasses, blew at them and wiped them with a handkerchief.

"Professor Charles, why are you doing this... you were supposed to protect us..." The young student mustered whatever strength she had left in her and said.

"You could listen to me and yet, you rather be like them and oppose me." The old man, Professor Charles, put on his glasses and pointed at the left corner of his office, where a pile of bodies were piled up.

"No... I..." The young student stammered and shook her head vigorously at him.

However, it was too late for her.

Blood in her body began to flow in reverse and she fell onto the ground and she convulsed with her limbs kicking.

The pain was enough to knock her out unconscious, and she twitched for a few times before she laid on the ground motionlessly.

Professor Charles stood up and shook his head at her body.

Ever since he got the SSS Level Blood Wielder ability, he was able to unleash all of his desires and no one could stop him.

He couldn’t recall the exact moment or reason why he did so, but it felt great to him.

"Both of you, come in," Professor Charles said, glancing toward the doors.
