Chapter 51: New Ability?!

[The next SSS Ability granted to you is SSS Lightning Wielder Ability.]

[This ability allows you to unleash quick and powerful lightning strikes.]

[Be warned that this ability takes up 2x more of your energy for every lightning strike compared to other abilities.]

[You will have this ability for 1 day and if you can kill off 100 enemies within this 1 day, you get to keep the Ability.]

[If you can’t achieve it, you wouldn’t be able to keep the ability when the day is over.]

[Day 1 of 1 for SSS Lightning Wielder Ability.]

What? Alex exclaimed in his mind when he saw the time he had this time.

It was one day instead of three days for him to keep the SSS Level Lightning Wielder ability.

However, the fact about having less time to reach the target of 100 kills was not the only thing that was bothering him.

There was also the warning about the ability using up more of his energy that he couldn’t ignore.

So, after a surge of knowledge on how to use the ability came into his mind, he raised his hand to try it out.

Crackle.

His hands gave out a glow and sparks of lightning appeared, giving out a crackling sound.

Then, a gust of wind blew when the sparks of lightning became larger and they extended out to the surroundings.

"What the hell?!" Riley and the others glanced over at him with bewilderment.

Alex focused on the lightning that was coming out from his hand and took note of how much energy it was draining.

It was indeed taking up much more than what his SSS Level Storage Ability took.

"Wow, wow." Terry waved his hands at Alex and moved a few steps away when the lightning came close to him, and left a burnt mark on the wall beside him.

Alex frowned when he saw it.

The lightning strike would be too destructive if he unleashed it inside the room.

He had to use it in an open area instead.

The lightning that crackled on his hand slowly dissipated and he shrugged his shoulders at his friends.

"Sorry, never expected this new ability of mine to be so much more powerful." Alex said and the others glanced at him with bewilderment.

"It’s a long story but to keep it short, I can have a new ability every few days and if I reach a certain target, I get to keep it."

"Damn it! Your ability is much cooler than I thought!" Riley cursed at what he heard and lamented at the ability to create bubbles instead of something cool like being able to wield lightning strikes.

Terry shook his head and laughed at him.

Only Brian was cool-headed enough from the excitement to ask, "What’s the target this time?"

"Kill a hundred enemies within a day." Alex said with a sigh.

For the mutated beasts, it might be tougher to depend on killing them for now.

It was getting harder to encounter them, from what he had experienced for the day.

At least in the college campus, these mutated beasts weren’t as numerous anymore.

Maybe he had to see if it was the same outside of the college campus when they made their trip to the supermarket.

He wanted to make the trip there now if he could.

As for other awakened or anyone who would be his enemies, apart from those inside the dorm building, he wasn’t sure if there were any left in the other buildings of the college campus.

Brian frowned at what he said and thought the same thing as him.

"Do you think you can make it in time?"

"Not sure, but let’s get to somewhere open for me to try out how many lightning strikes I can unleash at a time." Alex replied and he got out of the room with the others following behind.

They got to the roof top of the dorm building where no one could see what they were doing.

Crackle.

Alex raised his hands and the crackling from the lightning strikes could be heard.

But this time at full power, it gave out a flash that forced the others to cover their eyes and the gust of wind that was blowing messed up their hair.

Then, a slit opened up on the other end of the rooftop.

It opened up into a portal and Alex unleashed his lightning strikes at it.

Bam!

The lightning strikes shot out from his hands and they were half as tall as he was.

Along the trail that the lightning strikes traveled it left a burnt mark and ripped off the concrete from it.

And in an instant, it disappeared into the storage portal at the other end.

"Why? It’s just not fair!" Riley cursed again after seeing how much destruction the lightning strikes could do compared to his bubbles.

Terry and Brian were in awe with their jaws slackened.

They couldn’t believe what they had just witnessed.

It was certainly much more devastating than what they had encountered so far.

However, Alex wasn’t done yet.

He unleashed his lightning strikes again at his storage portal to test how many times he could sustain doing so before he was out of energy.

Bam!

One after another he unleashed the lightning strikes and he began to feel tired after the twentieth time.

Alex took a few deep breaths and carried on until the fortieth time.

He wiped the sweat off his forehead and glanced over at Riley, Terry and Brian.

Riley and the others had a bad feeling when they saw his expression.

It was that expression every time when he wanted them to replenish their bubbles, fireballs and sharp metallic rods into his storage space.

They were partly right.

Alex smiled at them and said, "You can unleash your huge bubbles, pillars of fire and metallic blocks into the storage portal while I recuperate my energy for the time being."

Riley and the others grumbled at him but they still did what they were instructed.

The night went on with them unleashing whatever they could into the storage portal of Alex.

Alex went another few rounds with his lightning strikes and alternated between them before he decided to call it a day.

All of them went back to the room to sleep but it wasn’t a peaceful night at all.
