Chapter 53: Zombiefied Awakened

Alex frowned at the sight of the two Awakened who were also zombiefied.

Their eyes were soulless, staring blankly at him and they were giving out the same low guttural sounds from their throats with their mouths frothing at the same time.

However, he was much more concerned about the white freezing mist and mud that were emitting out from their bodies.

It was as if their abilities were out of control.

The one with the white mist emitting out from his body bent its knee and lunged at him.

Alex was surprised that it was able to reach the height of the wall.

He held his hand at him and crackles of lightning could be heard in the air immediately.

A lightning strike shot at the zombiefied Awakened but its body gave out a huge cloud of mist and the mist turned into ice.

Crack.

When the lightning strike hit onto the ice that had engulfed the body of the zombiefied Awakened, it cracked the ice into pieces.

And the zombiefied Awakened wasn’t spared by it.

The lightning strike was powerful enough to continue on its trajectory and blow off the shoulder of the zombiefied Awakened.

Plop.

The impact also made the zombiefied Awakened drop onto the ground.

However, the zombiefied Awakened felt no pain from the injury and it got back up on its feet and gave out a loud growl.

A slit appeared in front of the zombiefied Awakened and opened up into a portal.

The zombiefied Awakened emitted out a huge cloud of white mist again.

Bam!

A Lightning strike shot out from the portal and it cracked the ice into pieces.

But it was not over yet.

Another lightning strike followed immediately after.

And this time, without the protection of the ice, the lightning strike pulverized the upper body of the zombiefied Awakened into ashes.

Its lower part of the body staggered for a few steps before dropping to the ground and kicked out aimlessly for a few moments before it stopped moving.

The other zombiefied Awakened opened its mouth and a torrent of mud started flowing out from it.

As the mud became more and more, the mud wobbled and changed its form into a wall surrounding the zombiefied Awakened.

Then, it took a few steps forward.

Alex made use of the fact that the mud only surrounded it, leaving the top of it exposed.

A slit appeared on top of the zombiefied Awakened and opened up into a portal.

The zombiefied Awakened lifted its head and stared at it.

And in the next moment, a flash of light lit up the surrounding.

Bam.

A lightning strike descended down onto the zombiefied Awakened.

It blew the head of the zombiefied Awakened off, but another lightning strike followed immediately after.

Alex wanted to play it safe and make sure that it was dead.

The lightning strikes were enough for it.

There was no motion coming from the zombiefied Awakened after it dropped dead on the ground.

Alex didn’t stop and he quickly checked out on how the others were doing.

Thankfully, there weren’t any zombiefied Awakened on the other side of the dorm building where his friends were dealing with the zombiefied students.

They were panting and tired but they were able to get it done, clearing up all of the zombiefied students trying to overwhelm the defenses of the dorm building.

When he saw that, Alex gave out a sigh of relief and a familiar sound erupted in his mind.

Information panels with words started to appear in it.

What a night. Alex was pleasantly surprised with what he had gotten.

The rewards were much more varied with some fresh food.

Even the weapons were now at a bigger caliber.

The automatic grenade launchers and machine guns would be a great help for them to deal with the mutated beasts and zombies.

As for keeping the SSS Level Lightning Wielder ability permanently, he didn’t expect to be able to accomplish it so soon.

But he didn’t mind it.

It was just that, not only do they have to worry about mutated beasts now, they would have to worry about those, who out of desperation, consumed the meat of those mutated beasts and turned into zombies.

And it might be much harder to deal with if those that had turned into zombies was an Awakened.

He wasn’t sure if those two zombiefied Awakened he had taken care of were at which level, but they were most likely at A or B level.

If they had been at SSS Level like he was, he wasn’t so sure if he could get rid of them so easily.

Alex sighed and got down from the top of the wall.

Everyone was busy with getting help for those who were injured.

David and the other medical students were using all they had learned and were trying their best with what they got.

Fortunately, most of the injuries weren’t too serious.

Only some needed stitching while many others required bandaging.

Patricia and her friends had also joined in to help in the defense and some of them were also injured.

"I’m starving after all this work." Terry said and rubbed his round belly when he walked over to where Alex was.

Riley smirked at him and pointed in the direction of where Patricia and it made Terry take a deep breath and tucked his round belly in.

Brian who was by their side, tried very hard not to burst out in laughter.

When Alex saw what they were doing, he shook his head at them and said, "I guess we need to have a meeting with the others first."
