“Damn, Luezi, you’re not effective!”

Zhao Dezhu was a bit upset and gave the signal transmitter a couple of taps. Based on his childhood experience, if these electronic devices aren’t working, just smack them!

“It’s not my problem; the machine has some issues, and there’s nothing I can do…”

Simple assembly posed no issue, but repairs were quite challenging for Wu Lue.

Duan Wuhu waved his hand and said, “Don’t worry about it. Captain Shen, I think we can at least give it a shot. The bomb we brought out is… a special bomb made from that extract. As long as we blow it up precisely, we can definitely eliminate that modified zombie!”

When they heard about the explosive extract, the expressions on the faces of the five from Dragon Head Camp were hard to describe. Shen Linrui closed his eyes and furrowed his brow slightly before relaxing his expression and sighing, “If you think you can, go for it. Tell us what you need, and we’ll fully cooperate!”

“Alright, let me explain…”

Duan Wuhu revealed his plan, which was basically to use a dummy as bait to attract 004 and then detonate the bomb.

“Teacher Duan, I’m not trying to be contrary, but what if 004 doesn’t fall for it? What then?”

“I feel the same. It might be more reliable to have Luezi use a drone to throw it over?”

Both Zhao Dezhu and Lu Yubo expressed concerns about Duan Wuhu’s trap.

“Hey!” Wu Lue was agitated: “You all see it sitting still like a turtle now, but it’s fast when it moves. What if it dodges? I can’t guarantee it will hit!”

“Give me the bomb, I’ll go find it!”

Hong the Fourth, who had been silent all along, finally spoke, shocking everyone with his words.

“No, no, no…”

Duan Wuhu waved his hands repeatedly.

Zhao Dezhu said with a mix of laughter and tears, “We’re not at the point of sacrificing lives.”

Using a person to deliver a bomb is almost certainly a suicide mission, and doing so when not absolutely necessary carries far too great a cost.

The five members from Dragon Head Camp were stunned, never expecting the seemingly ordinary Old Hong to be such a fearless warrior!

They couldn’t do it, but they admired him greatly.

Seeing the disagreement, Hong the Fourth withdrew back into the group, leaving a final word that they could call on him if needed.

“If it doesn’t work… let’s try Teacher Duan’s plan first, even if it fails there’s no loss, at least there’s no danger, right?”

“My suggestion is to let Luezi throw it once. If it’s accurate, we’ll detonate it. If not, forget it, we’ve got enough bombs, and one might work!”

“Alright, I’ll give it a try!”

After a round of deliberation, they eventually decided to use the drone to drop the bomb first.

Shen Linrui informed the three brothers who were on their way that the drone was about to carry out the bombing operation.

Wu Lue proceeded with the preparations, and within less than a minute, the drone took off with the bomb and headed towards the location of 004.

Initially, there was a thousand meters distance between the drone and 004. 004 didn’t show any special reaction, but as the drone flew toward it, 004 bounced around a few times, spun in place, and exhibited a burst of agitation.

“It seems to be somewhat sensitive to the drone. Is this freaking thing a zombie or a person, or maybe… never mind.”

Zhao Dezhu stopped speaking mid-sentence; he couldn’t let information about Procedure 1 slip from his mouth.

Lu Yubo picked up the conversation: “Back when the Cyan Dragon Corps fought, they used drones, maybe it left some vague memories?”

Wu Lue frowned as he focused on the screen, feeling troubled: “Who knows, though it’s hopping and jumping around, making it really hard for me to control!”

The drone’s flight speed was unquestionable, its agility was impressive, capable of sudden stops and turns effortlessly, but it wasn’t autonomous and required human control. Wu Lue’s reaction wasn’t particularly fast, and with 004 bouncing around unpredictably, capturing it was nearly impossible!

“I don’t have a shred of certainty that I can hit it. Should I even try? You decide if we can gamble that it’s interested in the bomb and blow it up when it comes near…”

Wu Lue asked those beside him.

“Throw it.”

Duan Wuhu made the call, and with four bombs available, experimenting with one was entirely acceptable.

Wu Lue didn’t say a word, nodded, and then focused on his control, lowering the drone’s altitude and trying to time it just right to drop the bomb.

The remote detonator was in Duan Wuhu’s hand, and he watched the screen intently, ready to press the button to detonate. However, the scene on-screen made him swear.

“Motherfucker!”

004 moved quickly using both hands and feet through the ruins, nimble as a mountain goat climbing a cliff, fast as a cheetah sprinting across the savannah. When it spotted something falling from the sky, it had no intention of catching it. It made a careful sideways jump, leaping over ten meters afar!

Even watching on screen, the leap looked exaggerated…

Thud…

The bomb landed among the debris, kicking up a small cloud of dust and settling awkwardly in the crevice of the stones.

Duan Wuhu was speechless and sighed. There was no point detonating, as 004 was now forty or fifty meters away, its attention far from the bomb, still staring at their location from a distance.

From that far away, never mind one tenth of a grape’s explosive potential, even throwing a whole grape down, with 004’s resilience akin to a creature that can survive a firestorm, it would hardly inflict a fatal injury.

“Forget it, it doesn’t care, there’s no chance…”

Pu Chanyong clapped his hands and spread his arms open.

If 004 cautiously observed like a monkey seeing a phone playing a video, scared but curious, it might eventually approach for a touch. But now it seemed completely indifferent, shattering their expectations.

“I feel like it might be injured or something. Brother Xiaolu, you know it better, isn’t it not as powerful as it was back then?”

Zhao Dezhu kept staring at the screen, with a thoughtful look in his eyes.

“I can sense it, though it was jumping around agilely, it just gives me a feeling of being weak. You saw it leap far, but then quickly stopped, seeming exhausted!”

Lu Yubo had watched 004 fight for the longest among them, and his observations were crystal clear.

“Strike it while it’s down!”

Fan Donglu from Dragon Head Camp proposed firmly.

“Honestly… even now, I still feel there’s not even a tenth of the chance we have!”

Lu Yubo shook his head and analyzed logically: “Firstly, we don’t even know if bullets can kill it, how many bullets would it take to bring it down. It’s weak, but not completely spent, escape our shots effortlessly. With just two hundred meters distance, it could wipe us out in a flash!”

“We definitely shouldn’t take reckless risks!”

Duan Wuhu raised his hand and said, “Alright, Plan B, let’s cut the analysis!”

Though it’s weak, who’d dare to test its limits with their own life?

Everyone got to work, each taking off some of their clothes and using stones and other scraps to set up a fake campfire scene. From a distance, it looked like three people huddled together for warmth, except it wasn’t a fire but two remote-controlled bombs in the middle…

“Will this even fool that creature?”

Looking at the ridiculously fake dummies, Lu Yubo was at a loss for words.

“Let’s give it a go. Hey, Captain Shen, inform those three brothers, we’re heading west, have them change direction and don’t come over.”

Once everything was settled, the convoy set off again. As expected, not long after the vehicles moved, 004 followed them, completely ignoring the bomb dropped earlier.

Among the dummies, only one bomb could be remotely detonated over a great distance; the other was effective within a hundred meters, receiving signals up to three kilometers away—a cost-saving trick of sorts. They already threw one of two long-range bombs…

Wu Lue focused intently on the screen, clutching the remote with a tense expression, muttering: “Look at the dummies, see? There are three people over there, go eat them, three people, gobble them up, and once you’re done, a blow to the realm awaits… come on, come on, come on!”

In the footage, Wu Lue calculated 004’s path. If it ignored the fake campfire, it would pass by ten meters away!

Whether to detonate became a challenging dilemma.

Detonate, and it might not deal a lethal blow to 004. But if not even attempting… this lingering danger trailing behind was nerve-wracking, what if it works?

Duan Wuhu drove while Wu Lue couldn’t communicate with him anymore. Some thoughts flashed quickly in the mind, perhaps only taking a second, but verbalizing them in a discussion could take over two minutes!

“To hell with it!”

Wu Lue gambled!

The dummy was useless; it never caught 004’s attention. Wu Lue, however, predicted accurately as 004 crawled past the dummy around ten meters distance.

Click!

The button on the remote softly clicked, and a pulse light flashed, signaling transmission.

Boom!
