Chapter 918: Trouble From Second Branch

"What did you say?" Bai Meiyue raised her head and looked at Xiao Wu with a stunned look in her eyes. "Who came to see me?" She was sure that she had misheard because there was no way Second Aunt Lei came to see her. That woman had been sticking close to her husband to the point that the man would not even dare to say a word without her letting him speak, and now the very same woman was telling her that she had been kicked out by her husband? How could Bai Meiyue even believe such nonsense?

Xiao Wu shrugged. He placed his hands inside his pockets and replied, "Who knows why she is here, but she is Boss Lei’s second aunt. Do you want to see her?"

Bai Meiyue pursed her lips. She tapped the pen in her hand onto the surface of the table and waved her hand. "Let Lei Qian go and deal with her. I want to see what she has to say after coming all the way here." Bai Meiyue did not know whether Second Aunt Lei was really abandoned or if she came here looking for trouble. She might really be abandoned, as it was not a surprise for women to be abandoned by their husbands, but Bai Meiyue knew Lei Qian’s second aunt. The chances of her getting abandoned were close to none.

"She also brought Old Madam Lei with her; I am afraid that the matter will not be settled easily." Old Madam Lei and Second Aunt Lei were both at their safe base, but Lei Wu and his father were missing. This dynamic only smelt of trouble, no matter how he looked at it.

Hearing his response, Bai Meiyue simply lowered her head and started writing down the expenses that she needed to deal with. "Like I said, this trouble was brought in by the Lei family. They should be the ones to deal with it. Unless they say that they are not willing to meet or see the two of them, don’t do anything." She might be related to the Lei family in one way or another, but the truth was that she had no intention to interfere with the Lei family’s troubles.

Firstly, she had all sorts of troubles on her mind already. Secondly, she had a bunch of things to deal with, and she could not add the two women outside the safe base. What was more, she was still recovering after giving birth and taking on more drama was not on her list at all. And those two women were the classic example of nothing but drama!

Xiao Wu realised that Bai Meiyue had no intention of interfering with the matter. He nodded and then said to Bai Meiyue, "Alright, I will relay this matter to Boss Lei and let him deal with it. We will see what he wants to do with his old grandma."

After he finished speaking, he turned on his heels and walked out of the study room. As soon as he left, Old Master Bai, who was playing with Xiao Cai, walked over; he was hugging the little koala bear to his chest and looking at Bai Meiyue with some confusion in his eyes. "Why did you not send them away? You should have simply kicked them out of the safe base. I am afraid that they are here for trouble."

"This is not my decision to make." Bai Meiyue had long drawn a clear line with the Lei family. Even though she and Lei Qian had a child together, Bai Meiyue had no intention of getting involved with his family. She had been a loner in her last few years, and her habits were still the same; she did not like getting close to others too much. She liked the Lei family, but she would not get unnecessarily involved with them.

What was more, Old Master Lei was still alive and he was the one who was the head of the Lei family house. He and Old Madam Lei had been together for so many years; what if he was willing to let her stay with him? After all, Old Master Lei was getting old, and Old Madam Lei was the same. Who knows, maybe Old Master Lei would end up changing his mind?

On the other side, at the Lei family’s mansion, when Lei Qian heard that his grandmother and second aunt came to see him, he was stunned. Why were they here to see him? What did they even want? He turned to look at his mother and asked her in a low voice, "Did you really hear the same thing as me? I heard that Old Madam Lei is here to see me."

Mother Lei raised her head and glared at her son. "Of course, I heard it as well. She is here and she wants to see you, so why are you acting like a child? You need to make a decision."

"Is this something we need to even make a decision on? Send her away."
