“No, I won’t go back with you.

I will find another way to deal with Grandpa’s issue.”

Baili Xia took another step back, far enough away from Mu Xiaoyao, before she continued, “I’m going back to the dorm first.

I still have things to do.”

As she turned to leave, Mu Xiaoyao’s long legs moved, and he stepped in front of her.

Baili Xia almost couldn’t stop her momentum, nearly crashing straight into his embrace.

Mu Xiaoyao reached out to grasp her shoulders, stabilizing her posture.

Baili Xia got a start as well, pushing him hard and immediately taking two steps back.

Seeing her guard up against him at every turn, Mu Xiaoyao felt a bitter taste in his heart.

He hadn’t thought about harming her.

Why was she treating him as an enemy?

Watching her face grow pale, he said indifferently, “Even if you don’t go back to Mu Mansion, you can’t stay at the school.”

“Uncle won’t allow you to stay here.

Sooner or later, you’ll have to return.”

“Then…

then I’ll stay with the Dongfang Family.

Jin invited me to stay there.

I can stay there for a while,” Baili Xia said immediately.

Brother had reminded her, after all, that Uncle would not let her stay here.

Staying at school provided no security; he could come over at any time and take her back.

If he really took her back, if he really had someone deal with the baby in her belly…

The very thought of that possibility turned her face a shade paler in an instant.

Her hand subconsciously rested on her stomach, and she stood there, stunned.

People around them kept passing by, each one of them turning back to look at them.

Mu and Baili Xia were here.

What were they talking about?

The atmosphere didn’t look good at all.

Could they be talking about breaking up?

Yet, it seemed like Baili Xia was avoiding Mu.

Could it be that Baili Xia was the one who wanted to break up and didn’t want Mu?

How could that be possible?

The girls couldn’t believe it.

Out of all the girls in the world, how many would have the chance to hook up with Mu?

No!

From start to finish, there was only her, Baili Xia.

They just didn’t believe she would break up with Mu.

Could it be that Mu wanted to dump Baili Xia?

But that didn’t seem likely either.

It looked like Mu wanted to get closer to her, but she kept retreating, avoiding him.

The two of them were acting so strange, what on earth was going on?

The murmuring voices kept coming in a continuous stream.

Their hearing was good, and they could clearly hear all of those speculations.

Suddenly, Mu Xiaoyao grabbed Baili Xia’s wrist.

As she struggled, he said in a suppressed voice, “Do you really want to keep making a scene here, for everyone to laugh at you?”

“I…” Baili Xia looked up into his eyes, and the next second, she finally gave up the struggle.

“I’ll go with you, just let go of me,” she said softly.

Mu Xiaoyao then released her, and they walked together on the path leading to the apartment building.

“I’m not good at persuading people, and I don’t know what kind of assurance to give you to make you believe that Uncle won’t harm you.”

“But, wanting to stay at the school, that’s impossible.”

He then put his hands back in his pockets, leisurely walking alongside her.

Baili Xia bowed her head, looking at the ground under her feet, a trace of bitterness flowing through her eyes.

Uncle wouldn’t let her go.

If he were going to let her go, that agreement wouldn’t exist.

Approaching her had always been with a purpose.

Later, being with her, growing increasingly nicer, perhaps it was because he truly had feelings for her.

But now, the child was an accident.

With the child as an unexpected factor, their relationship suddenly reverted back to before liberation.

The child must affect his plans, right?

Ultimately, he still intended to use her.
