Walking along the narrow path, the evening breeze swept by, carrying a chill in the air.

The unsettled emotions of the night were finally eased somewhat by the wind.

Seeing her mood seemingly improve, Mu Xiaoyao finally dared to speak.

“The banquet is expected to end around eleven o’clock.

We need to be out of here by ten-thirty.”

“What time is it now?” Baili Xia asked.

Mu Xiaoyao glanced at his wristwatch: “Nine fifty.”

“It’s all your fault! Helping Uncle waste my time!” Baili Xia couldn’t help but glare at him fiercely.

Mu Xiaoyao fell silent, afraid of upsetting her again, so he just nodded: “Yes, it’s my fault.

I’ll make it up to you later.”

“You’re going to bite me again?” She pouted.

“Sure.” If a few bites could cheer her up, it was all the same to him.

She didn’t say anything further but felt a small trace of warmth return to her heart.

She was willing to trust him again, willing to believe that he didn’t always stand by Uncle in everything.

Perhaps, occasionally, Brother really did care about her.

Walking life’s path alone is hard; it feels so lonely.

The hard-earned warmth she found—she didn’t want to let it slip away…

In front of the gates of Youyang Pavilion, thick vines still tightly covered the signboard’s three characters.

If not for knowing the name of this courtyard beforehand, it would be nearly impossible to discern which three characters were written above.

At this moment, there didn’t seem to be any guards patrolling outside.

However, the courtyard’s defense systems were undoubtedly active.

Mu Xiaoyao took out a miniature computer he carried with him and started working on a program.

Two minutes later, he turned his head to glance at Baili Xia: “We can go in now.”

“You hacked into their defense system and disabled it?” Baili Xia asked curiously.

“Not disabled, just set the footage to loop.

For the next half hour, it’ll replay previously scanned visuals.”

“So, even if we waltz in casually and wander all over the place, the monitoring room won’t notice?”

Baili Xia’s admiration for him was as endless as a river, flowing without pause.

In merely two minutes, he had done it!

“Only for half an hour.” The loop can’t be extended too long; eventually, it would be discovered.

However, this courtyard had likely been undisturbed for a very long time.

Given its prolonged tranquility, the security staff at the monitoring room probably wouldn’t expect uninvited guests tonight.

Detection-wise, they likely wouldn’t be overly cautious.

So, in truth, they could wander in freely.

The reason Mu Xiaoyao portrayed it as severe was simply to prevent this girl from randomly intruding on other occasions.

Walk along the edge often enough, and it’s inevitable to get one’s feet wet.

Do it too many times, and sooner or later, trouble will come.

Climbing over the high wall from one side, Mu Xiaoyao made it up with ease, while Baili Xia relied on the power of the Bracelet Sky Silkworm Fiber.

Watching the bracelet on her wrist, Mu Xiaoyao narrowed his eyes slightly: “Nice design.

Where’s it from?”

“My friend designed it.

She’s a weapons expert.

I’ll introduce you to her if there’s a chance.” Baili Xia gave him a smile.

“Sure.” The bracelet’s design was exceptionally refined; not something an average person could conceive of.

Such a skilled individual—meeting her wouldn’t hurt.

“Brother, we could actually avoid the detection systems entirely, couldn’t we?”

After jumping down from the high wall, Baili Xia couldn’t help but ask again.

There weren’t any guards in the courtyard.

Most of the protection for the estate relied on the detection systems.

Every monitoring device has blind spots; by locating these, they could freely roam within those areas of coverage gaps.
