Baili Xia was slightly stunned, with a hint of surprise: “You are?”

The old lady, upon seeing Baili Xia’s face, realized she hadn’t mistaken her, and her voice became somewhat excited.

“You are indeed the second Miss of the Lu Family, my surname is Chen, you helped my son before, don’t you remember?”

Baili Xia looked at the old lady, searching carefully in her mind, her eyes full of confusion.

She truly couldn’t be sure if she had helped this woman’s grandson before.

In the past, she had helped many people…

but she couldn’t remember each and every face.

“I’m sorry, Mrs.

Chen, I don’t have time now, I…”

“It’s you, it must be you!

You are Miss Lu!”

Mrs.

Chen grabbed her hand, too excited to speak properly.

From afar, Guisu noticed that Baili Xia seemed to have encountered some situation, seeing the old lady holding onto Baili Xia’s hand tightly.

His heart skipped a beat, and he immediately rushed over.

“What’s going on, who is she?” His gaze towards the old lady carried a hint of coldness.

The old lady was evidently startled by the bloodstains on him, taking two steps back.

“This lady is…”

Baili Xia gave Guisu a look and said to Mrs.

Chen reassuringly.

“Mrs.

Chen, this is my friend, don’t be afraid, he’s always like this.”

Then noticing the bloodstains on him, Baili Xia immediately explained: “It’s nothing, just a fall, hastily bandaged, we were just on our way to the hospital.”

“Let’s go!” Guisu said with a stern face, not wanting to waste any more time here.

Baili Xia tugged at his sleeve: “I’ll grab my stuff and leave.”

Upon hearing he was her friend, the old lady’s heart relaxed.

Seeing the two of them looking rushed, Mrs.

Chen suddenly became puzzled.

Why did they look as if they were fleeing from something?

She handed the bag to Baili Xia, and said softly: “These things are for you, auntie won’t take money.”

Baili Xia quickly took money out of her pocket and handed it to Mrs.

Chen: “How can that be, Auntie, it’s not easy for you to make money.”

The two of them pushed the money back and forth, arguing over it for quite a while, until Guisu became impatient, and finally, Mrs.

Chen accepted the money.

Guisu was ready to leave and stepped out of the shop, his vigilant eyes looking towards the entrance of the village.

Baili Xia looked at Guisu, then turned back, deciding to take a bit of a risk.

“Auntie, could you do me a favor?”

“Just say it, as long as it’s something I can help with.” Mrs.

Chen said earnestly.

“Could you find a way to notify Mr. Bei of the Bei Family and tell him I’m here?”

Mrs.

Chen smiled and said softly: “I was wondering what the matter was, that’s easy, I have a phone here, you can just make a call.”

A phone!

Baili Xia felt like slapping herself.

She had been unable to find a phone just then, and now she hadn’t thought to ask Mrs.

Chen for one.

Taking Mrs.

Chen’s phone, she was about to dial when Guisu suddenly stepped inside.

Gripping Baili Xia’s hand, he said in a low voice: “They’ve caught up, let’s go!”

Baili Xia looked at him, then at the phone in her hand, her face filled with conflict.

“Let’s go quickly!” Guisu tugged her to leave.

Baili Xia didn’t dare to think anymore, she set down the phone and was about to follow him out the door.

Mrs.

Chen hurriedly said from behind: “Are you in danger?”

Glancing at Guisu, she saw his arm wrapped in thick bandages, evidently badly injured.

She quickly said: “Don’t go out, I’ll help you hide.”

The two paused, looking back at her.

They indeed needed a place to hide now, but could they trust this old lady?

“Miss Lu, you saved my son, I swear, I will never harm you!”
