Be Gentle, My Master
Chapter 2448
Bei Xier was still puzzled at first, because she clearly didn’t know him, yet this legendary cousin suddenly showed up at her doorstep.
Now, after hearing his explanation, Bei Xier’s doubts were finally laid to rest.
“Alright.” Bei Zicheng nodded and waved his hand: “You should go train now; it’s getting late.”
“Okay, I’ll excuse myself then.”
Watching Bei Xier’s figure gradually receding, Bei Zicheng narrowed his starry eyes halfway, and the corners of his lips lifted, revealing a proud smile.
He had sort of successfully arranged a meeting with her; now it was up to her…
…
In the afternoon, while having lunch, Baili Xia suddenly realized she hadn’t been to visit the grandpa in days.
She had previously promised him that she would often come over to perform acupuncture.
But these days, she had been busy, and the matter had slipped her mind.
Still, looking at the foodie beside her, who had just finished his third bowl of rice and seemed still unsatisfied, Baili Xia could only feel overwhelmed.
“What kind of look is that?” Seeing Baili Xia staring at him with disdainful eyes, a hint of dark humor flashed beneath Wu Ming’s inky gaze.
“Who’s looking at you? Stop being vain!” Baili Xia retorted immediately when blocked by Wu Ming’s words.
When she was with Wu Ming, they seemed unrestrained in their conversations.
Even if they teased each other and joked relentlessly, it didn’t matter.
Although they frequently bickered, Baili Xia actually felt very relaxed in front of Wu Ming.
This was something she probably hadn’t even realized herself.
“I don’t want to waste words with you here; you take your time eating. I’m going to tidy up and then head over to give the grandpa acupuncture; find something to amuse yourself with.”
Baili Xia stood up, shot another look at Wu Ming, who continued eating intently, and turned to head upstairs.
Wu Ming did not stop her, continuing to eat with his head down.
There was no danger in going to the grandpa’s place, and besides, if he went along, it might cause the Bei Family to have opinions about this girl.
They might think she didn’t trust the Bei Family folks.
Back in her room with the door closed, Baili Xia chuckled to herself quietly.
No matter what, she had finally shaken off that guy.
She really feared Wu Ming would cling to her all day long, even though technically it was his job, but she wasn’t used to being accompanied constantly.
However, what Baili Xia didn’t know was that Guisu had actually come by earlier this morning.
He and Wu Ming had already agreed to train together in the afternoon in the back mountain.
Wu Ming hadn’t gone through intense training in a while, and since his opponent was Guisu, he certainly wouldn’t refuse.
Baili Xia stayed in the room for a while, tidied up briefly, then returned to the hall.
Seeing the man still eating there, she tossed three words his way: “I’m off.”
“Remember what I said before, don’t meddle in other people’s business.”
Watching that graceful figure, Wu Ming casually reminded her.
This girl, his biggest concern about her was that she was too kind-hearted.
“Got it.” Baili Xia nodded.
She understood he was probably still thinking about what they discussed last night, asking whether Nangong Xu would help Nan Fengnian with his illness.
She wasn’t foolish; having gone through so much, some things she could still consider.
Yet being plagued by illness throughout one’s life truly was pitiful.
Seeing Wu Ming fill himself another large bowl of rice, Baili Xia, who initially felt full of thoughts, suddenly felt a touch of helplessness.
What is his stomach made of! How does he eat so much every meal?
Luckily, meals at the Bei Family don’t cost money, otherwise, how could she afford it?
Baili Xia glanced with resignation at his broad back, shook her head involuntarily, and stepped out the door.
