Kang Ian saw very clearly. The air around him immediately grew heavy.

"Kai." Kei tugged at his arm. "Don’t look back anymore, let’s go."

"I’m just saying goodbye."

Kai said in a coaxing tone.

"Then why were you smiling like that?"

For some reason, Kei felt that Kai’s smile just now was very meaningful.

"Because I’m happy."

"Happy about what?"

Kai turned his head around.

"You’re coming back with us too?"

Kai didn’t answer, secretly glancing to see if Kei showed any disgust toward the little dragon. Kei could only rub his forehead and continue pulling him along.

Behind them, Moon So Yeon slowly walked over to Kang Ian’s side. She originally intended to ask if the guild master was injured, but as soon as she saw his face, her steps immediately halted.

Moon So Yeon instinctively stepped back a few paces.

Kang Ian didn’t respond.

Her shout echoed through the ruins.

Kang Ian paused. The floating stones around him immediately fell to the ground with a clatter.

He slowly turned his head to look at Moon So Yeon, his expression still so calm it made people even more afraid.

"Actually..."

Kang Ian raised a hand to touch the corner of his mouth, his gaze still following the direction Kei had left.

"I just suddenly feel like eating grilled lizard."

Moon So Yeon fell silent.

One second.

Two seconds.

Then, she pointed at Kai’s back, her face pale.

"You mean that lizard as big as an entire building over there?"

"Yeah."

"And how exactly do you plan to grill it?"

Kang Ian thought for a moment.

"Use gravity to crush it down, then find fire to burn it for three days and three nights. That should cook it through."

Moon So Yeon looked at him like she was looking at someone who had completely lost his mind.

"Guild master, that’s not a lizard. That’s the black dragon Kai, one of the five strongest SS-rank hunters in Korea!"

Kang Ian looked at Moon So Yeon like he was looking at an idiot.

"I know."

"You know, and you still want to eat it?"

Moon So Yeon clutched her head.

Kang Ian ignored her lament. He looked toward the road Kei had left on, where the small figure of the boy had already disappeared behind the buildings.

"Moon So Yeon."

"Yes?"

"He really will come back, won’t he? I hope he’ll soon bring sleep back to me."Moon So Yeon was stunned.

After all the irritable expressions, the threats, and the intention to roast a dragon, what Kang Ian truly cared about was still just his promise to Kei.

She sighed, trying to answer in the firmest voice she could manage.

"If Kei said he would come back, then he will definitely come back. For now, just calm down and wait."

Kang Ian said nothing more. But the heavy pressure around him finally dissipated.

"Fine then."

He turned around, looking at the Crying Ghost Guild headquarters that had been reduced to ruins.

"Before he comes back, this place needs to be rebuilt. It looks terrible."

Moon So Yeon looked at the crumbling walls, then looked at Kang Ian wearily.

"Yes. And the guild master will personally explain this to the city administration. I really don’t want to face their scowling faces."

Kang Ian immediately frowned.
