Syll cleared his throat as he said, "It’s nothing. You don’t have to worry about it... You just have to stay away from me like I’ve always demanded from you, and everything will be fine."

Grey raised his eyebrows. "But I..."

"Maybe..." Syll stared at him. "Maybe when the time is right..."

And with that, he walked off, leaving Grey standing there and watching in confusion.

Katy had decided to visit Mr. and Mrs. Faux that night for dinner.

The three of them sat around the dining table while their meals were served, eating peacefully together.

"So... how did the visit with June go?" Mrs. Faux inquired curiously. "Did you spend time with our Nyx and all?"

Katy nodded with a smile. "Yes, I did. I’ve missed him so much, so I was really happy to see him. Our little Nyx has grown so much. I can’t believe he’s taller than me now." She shook her head, smiling.

Mr. Faux nodded with a smile. "That’s good. That’s good."

Mrs. Faux cleared her throat as she said, "And... how’s it going for you two recently? I mean, I remember you two had a little crush going on when you were younger. Now that you’re old enough... I was wondering..."

She smiled as she continued, "...Maybe the sparks have already returned, and you two can consider... maybe getting together? What do you say?"

Katy’s smile slowly faded, but she covered it up almost immediately. She guessed that Nyx hadn’t told them about the fact that he had a crush.

She didn’t know his reasons for not doing so, but she guessed it was important to him. So she didn’t wish to ruin things and casually said, "Well, actually..."

"We just reunited, so there’s nothing at all. Besides, growing up, we might have already found other people. Like me, I’m already dating someone, so... I don’t know about that."

Mrs. Faux was disappointed by the answer, but she tried speaking further. "I mean, I’m sure he still likes you. So maybe with a little push, something can happen..."

Mr. Faux interrupted her. "It’s okay. Take your time, you two, and let’s see how it goes... okay?"

Katy smiled and nodded. "Thanks, Uncle."

Mr. Faux nodded. "We were right to invite you over to see him. Only you could meet and speak to him... That boy has really grown cold and distant toward us."

Katy stared at him. "Oh? Is that so? How so? He seemed the same when I saw him."

Mr. Faux shook his head as though disappointed. "You don’t even know... Actually, he suddenly grew cold toward us."

"He stopped speaking with us, left home, and went to the Academy. He never came to visit at all. He doesn’t even call us."

Mrs. Faux nodded. "Yes, yes. It leaves us worried about him. We don’t know who has poisoned his mind like this... But we’re just worried."

"And that’s why we had you come and meet him. You’re the only one he can never refuse now," Mrs. Faux explained.

"Oh..." Katy slowly nodded.

Mr. Faux cleared his throat. "We’re glad to have you. At least you could help us keep a closer eye on him."

Katy sighed. "I understand your worries, Uncle. I guess our little Nyx has finally grown up and is now throwing tantrums."

Mrs. Faux smiled. "Probably."

Mr. Faux stared at Katy as he said, "You see, we’ve missed him so much that we just want to sit down and have a simple meal with him..."

Mrs. Faux smiled as she added, "True, true. That’s why we want you to help us with this."

They both gave Katy desperate looks, and she casually smiled before asking, "Oh, is that so...? I don’t know if I can be of help..."

"Of course you can. He’s so comfortable with you and probably happy with you. You’re our only hope now. So maybe you can help us meet him for a meal. He won’t let us meet up at all if we ask."

Katy sighed thoughtfully. "Is that so...?" She smiled. "Then I guess I’ll see what I can do to help. I really want you guys to get over whatever issues you have and become happy again."

Mrs. Faux nodded with a smile. "Most certainly. This is going to help us a lot. We can finally sit down and discuss things. Thanks so much. We’re lucky to have such a sweet girl like you."

Katy smiled and nodded. "No problem at all. I’m more than happy to help," she expressed as they continued eating and discussing other things.

June was lying in bed for a long time, staring at the ceiling. He was lost in thought. He couldn’t stop thinking about Katy and how suspicious it was that she had returned at this particular time.

He had a feeling that she was certainly a plant from Nyx’s parents. And June knew that at this moment, he had to work even harder to protect Nyx, even though he wasn’t particularly close to him.

He sat up in bed, staring into thin air. "No... I’m just worried about him because I’m responsible for him..." he said, slowly nodding. "Yes, that’s it... nothing much."

"It’s not like I like him or that I’m jealous, right...?" June thought as he ran a hand through his hair. Then he immediately shook his head.

"No, that’s not it. I’m just... I’m just concerned about a junior I’m responsible for..." He nodded with a smile. "That’s it. So I should find a way to protect him better. A way to keep that suspicious girl away from him..."

He bit his lower lip, thinking for a while. But nothing worth trying came to mind.

And at that moment, he realized how urgent it was to get back into that Academy.

June scoffed as he said, "To protect him better, I need to find my way back there. Like, right now."

He said it firmly, already making up his mind.
