:"Get in touch with the commissioner at the police station, have him activate the location tracking, and notify all patrol officers to intercept that white van." While giving instructions, he dashed out of the hotel, fiercely pressed the gas pedal as he drove, connecting to the police station’s tracking system at lightning speed. When the signal began to appear on the car’s screen, his handsome face bore scorn and heartache, stepping on the gas and speeding towards the direction indicated. Watching the little red dot moving on the small screen in the car, the intense crimson in his eyes grew ever stronger.......

Avery, don’t be afraid, don’t be afraid, I’m coming right now.......

The accelerator was pushed to the maximum as the phone rang. He glanced at it and answered.

Julian Carter’s voice came from the other end of the phone: "I’ve already sent everyone over, and Edward Parker has gathered his forces too. Where are you?"

Having worked under Joshua Hughes for so many years, he had honed a keen sense, and danger was closing in on them. Because their recent actions were too bold, and Vincent Hunter was the sole survivor. For revenge and to eliminate future threats, he would certainly try to keep them from leaving Las Vegas. Now he had nothing to compete with Joshua Hughes but the fact that Las Vegas was his territory and he had many men. So, he had already deployed everyone who could arrive the fastest, and Edward Parker’s side had started assembling his men.

:"Screeeeech------" The car screeched to a halt abruptly, the sharp braking sound piercing the air. The white van stopped at the entrance of an old alley. Las Vegas is a unique place where you can always see the bright lights and extravagant life at night, high-class entertainment venues and casinos mixed together. Yet, deep within its core, these commonplace dwellings appear somewhat decayed and rundown.

That is the car. Joshua drove with such urgency, he almost crashed into the car’s rear end. His eyes blood-red, he saw the vehicle was empty, and there was a road leading from the alley that branched out everywhere, nearly driving him mad. Vincent Hunter is a mad dog who would do anything; he knows Avery Jane is just bait to lure him in, and his real target is him. Of course, he’d probably hold some lustful intent towards Avery Jane as well. Thinking of this, the raging inferno in Joshua’s deep eyes seemed ready to turn the world into ashes. He calmly scanned the alley; they had just left the car, he could even feel the lingering warmth of the seat, indicating they hadn’t gone far. He sprinted into the alley, the car wouldn’t be parked here for no reason. His hand reached down to his waist, and a small gun was gripped tightly in his hand, ready to unleash hell. Anyone who dares touch his beloved woman would be sent to the Inferno......

The slender and graceful figure was lying on the ground, even in her dazed state she instinctively clutched her shawl tight. Suddenly, her small hand was harshly kicked away, and a pair of old brown leather shoes stomped hard on her delicate white hand, almost breaking it. A scream resonated like a nightingale in agony, her face turned deathly pale from pain, waking her immediately. Before her were several men wearing patterned shirts, thick gold chains, some chewing betel nut, some clutching cigarettes. The room was somewhat worn, and she had no idea where she was. The men’s terrifying gazes made her involuntarily tremble, as if they were about to tear her apart, making her heart almost stop beating, and their presence made her feel nauseous.......

"Little beauty, you really look stunning, why wrap up with a blanket in such hot weather? Come, let brother help you remove it....." The burly man with a cigarette still in his mouth, his foot planted on Avery Jane’s hand, crouched down and reached out to pull off Avery Jane’s shawl.

The stabbing pain shot from her palm, tugging at every nerve in her body, tears filled her eyes. Who would come to save her.....

His heart felt stabbed fiercely, it seemed as if he heard her scream. She must be nearby.

This place seemed like the forbidden area of the city; every house in here could harbor drug dealers, fugitives, or murderers. Each door concealed unknown dangers. Yet, none of this would deter his steps. Suddenly, a gunshot sounded "bang," the bullet whizzed past scraping his face. Joshua Hughes looked towards the rooftop of the small building, the shot had come from there. Earlier, when he glanced over, he saw a shadow there. Years of cultivated vigilance quickly sent him ducking behind a worn-out light box, but the bullet still grazed his skin, leaving a cut on his sharply chiseled face. It must be that spot, and just now the scream came from that direction......
