Joshua Hughes was dressed in a suit, his face cold and stern, exuding an aura of death. He glanced up at him briefly, before coolly sitting in his place. His defiant chin and lips pressed into a straight line both signaled his displeasure.

Luis Hughes paused for a moment, then spoke blandly: "You’ve never been late as a habit, but today you were fifteen minutes late for work. That’s not like you, big brother."

They had already broken apart, having never really gotten along despite their close blood ties.

Joshua Hughes’ eyes were cold and indifferent, and he remained silent.

Luis Hughes was not bothered, having witnessed Joshua’s arrogance not for the first time, he continued speaking: "Let’s not speak in riddles. You surely know why I’m here today, big brother. No matter how clean your actions are, anyone with eyes can see the nuances within. You’ve ruined the entire Hughes Clan. Such a grand scheme can’t be achieved in a day or two; it’s the result of years of meticulous preparation. In the end, what is your goal? What outcome do you want? Though we’ve always been at odds, at least you’re not the type to do such things for money. Was it to anger mother to death? She’s already close to dying..."

This was the only explanation Luis Hughes could offer; otherwise, he couldn’t fathom why Joshua Hughes would do such a thing.

Joshua Hughes sneered, the corner of his handsome lips exuding an elegant yet icy quality. His long fingers rubbed his brow. His deep, magnetic voice carried a hint of disdain: "Mother? That’s your mother, right?" After all, she still gave that five percent to Luis Hughes. She wasn’t unaware of what that five percent meant to him, even though those shares are now worthless, yet she was biased. If she had been going to give it to him in the end, he would use the five percent of Hughes Clan to exchange for it, even if she gave the new five percent to Luis Hughes, he wouldn’t object.

With one sentence, he sharply exposed the contradictions between them, like a rotting wound on the body, with the white gauze torn away, exposing it to the air, emitting a nauseating smell.

Joshua Hughes tapped his fingers on the table, raising his eyes. His playful gaze revealed a chill, settling on Luis Hughes, the smile on his lips made one’s skin crawl. As he looked at his somewhat believing facial features, his eyes suddenly grew colder, like frost: "Since it’s escalated to the court, then let’s meet in court."

Today he was in a good mood; she hadn’t resisted his advance and hadn’t been angry with him. In the morning, they’d eaten breakfast together like newly-in-love couples. He even had a date tonight. Such sweet anticipation was completely ruined by Luis Hughes. It was truly disappointing.

His muscular body leaned against the chair, speaking coldly: "You really are still too na?ve. Do you think teaming up with Benjamin Lopez can affect me? Do you think Benjamin Lopez’s backside is that clean?"

Joshua Hughes laughed contemptuously, his eyes flickering brightly. His smile was elegant and alluring: "You’d better think about how to pay this huge lawyer fee. As far as I know, you can hardly even pay your household servants’ salaries. I really don’t understand how you have the mood to sit here chatting with me?"

"You’re crazy, you’re truly crazy. By doing this, can you face grandpa, can you face all the ancestors of the Hughes Family?" Luis Hughes, unable to endure it any longer, became agitated and almost wanted to shout.

Grandpa, the ancestors of the Hughes Family? Joshua Hughes’ deep and complex eyes quickly flashed with a light of intense pain. When Conny Hughes was dealing with his brother, did he ever think about these things? Luis Hughes simply lost wealth, while he lost his only family affection—it was what he valued most, what he cared about most. Throughout his growing years, life was cold and dreary—who was to blame for that? These are things they will never understand, never...

"I’m happy. I’m happy to play with you. I’m happy to destroy the Hughes Family. I’m just following my own will, do you have a problem with it?" Joshua Hughes’ sharp gaze fell on him, his thin lips curving up with a mocking taste.

Luis Hughes was already pushed to the edge of the cliff, across the table, two pairs of eyes met. Joshua Hughes’ domineering gaze coldly staring at Luis Hughes, his eyes rife with anger and resentment. They are brothers, existing in such a strange way, destined to fiercely harm each other from birth.
