Chapter 488: Chapter 486:“Ahh... finally.”

THUD!

The moment reality resumed, the sound of a body hitting the floor snapped everyone from their pause as the attention returned to where it was always meant to be—me.

"Alright, since the elder has so graciously asked this of me, then I can only relent." I stood over the motionless body of the youth I had been smashing headfirst into the ground as an innocent smile graced my face.

"Forgive my audacious act, Lady Luo, but you can’t blame me. These guys were being too unreasonable; some discipline was in order." I shrugged as I stepped over the bodies, walking towards one of the many formation-covered seats whilst internally ordering Shulvan to stand down.

The guy was actually about to release his attack all because I had ’apologized’. His lack of understanding in these situations will never stop baffling me.

I could feel the searing warmth of Luo Yao’s gaze on my back as I walked away, but once again, the woman proved wiser than expected as she hadn’t made another move after Lin Tian’s intervention.

"Looks like some of these guys are sensible after all."

"You know she’ll still come after you for your friend, right? If anything about that emperor’s ridiculous story is to be believed, then these guys really don’t know when to call it quits." Shaia chimed in, finally getting over their earlier loss.

"I know, and that’s why this is fun. Imagine if everyone acted sensibly? I would’ve blown this whole circus act up ages ago."

"Haa... I wish you would. I honestly feel like I’m losing brain cells the more I interact with these people." Sana sighed, tired.

"Hehehe.. soon, my dear. Soon. Just a few more stops and I’ll have had my fill."

I waited for them to retort once more about how my assumptions of things to occur being based on something my other life had read was wrong, but this time all I got was silence.

"Heh! Ladies. Not going to advise me differently this time?"

"You’re never letting it go, are you?" Terra.

"Unfortunately for you, my dearest wife, no, no I’m not."

""""Haaa.... Fuck.""""

Finally making my way towards one of the empty formation-covered seats, I pulled both Lucien and Nyssara into my embrace as I took a seat, the formation activating as the silence from outside was instantly cut off.

Hummmm!!!

"Initiating hibernation protocols."

The last thing I expected was to hear a robotic voice followed by the appearance of a UI displaying exactly what it was I could do within this space.

Turns out the place could expand and transform according to whatever the user wished for.

"So those bastards earlier were just posturing when they could’ve been doing something else?" I couldn’t help but be stunned at how seriously these guys took showing off.

"Well, not me, bitches."

I set the entire thing to change into a room, cutting off the view of the outside world as my entire space was now fully isolated.

The chair underneath me morphed into a massive and comfortable bed as the clothes I had on right now vanished.

"Finally, some peace and quiet."

I sighed in satisfaction as the figures of Elira and Terra appeared beside me.

"Fufufufu... so we get privacy now?" Elira chirped, but—

BONK!!

"Owww!!! Why!?"

"Not in front of the child," Terra chastised as she pointed towards the innocent wide-eyed Lucien.

"Pooh..."

"Hahahahahaha..." I couldn’t help but laugh out in exhilaration as I lay down, Lucien making himself comfortable on my head as the others took their places beside and on top of me.

This ride around the literal galaxy was bound to be long and hectic, especially with the many stops to be held, and I wasn’t about to stay up through it all. So for now, all I was interested in doing... was sleep.

....

....

The journey through the high planar galaxies was indeed a long and arduous one.

The spirit vessel docked on many different other worlds as the recruiters did their jobs.

From world to world.

Solar system to solar system.

Galaxy to galaxy.

The vessel traveled, picking up talented young men and women—those destined to become heroic characters of the high planar galaxies.

The journey was one of such eye-opening experiences that even Dante’s companions, Leo, Salazar, Malachi, and Paku, hadn’t complained about the tediousness.

They were powerful, yes, very much so.

They were literal walking enigmas, figures capable of reducing the entire high planar galaxies to nothing—that was undeniable.

But one thing they weren’t, was world-experienced.

They had just left their home world of Terra, with their first stop being the still-middling world of Aetheris Prime. Their life experiences outside Terra could be said to be minimal at best.

So now, being presented with the opportunity to see such an expansive part of the universe, the four of them were less inclined to be annoyed at the stupid confrontations of entitled young masters that would break out every once in a while whenever new candidates came aboard the vessel, as they were too preoccupied with enjoying the sightseeing experiences.

Of course, should some arrogant young master dare cross a line he shouldn’t have, they never hesitated to show them their places, so much so that now, everyone on the ship was forced to avoid the space around the five devils.

Yes. Five. For Shulvan himself had gotten quite a reputation as the man just stood like a sentinel before the blacked-out formation that Dante and his women had taken comfort in, and whoever dared approach within a fifty-meter radius was reduced to nothingness.

And so, the five demons maintained their notoriety through the long and arduous travels.

Also, as it would turn out, Lin Luo Yao wasn’t the only grand elder the sect had sent out on recruitment; she was just the one whose region of influence the vessel had gone to first.

Which was why, with every new region they crossed, the number of grand elders increased, and so too the number of eyes on one very conspicuous gryphon.

Leo’s infamy was magnitudes more than that of his friends, as every single grand elder seemed to have their eyes sparkle with light whenever they saw the golden gryphon.

They hadn’t made any obvious moves. Why that was, no one knew, but one thing was for sure: the group was bound to have quite the fun time when they arrived at the sect.

...

...

...

Six months later.

Six months. That’s how long it took the spirit vessel to make rounds through the entire high planar galaxies.

This was after employing multiple wormholes and spacewarps to get to the more distant locations.

The vessel was now a crowded den of ambition and youthful fervor as the trials had finally approached their ends and the candidates had been selected.

Multiple factions had already begun forming within the vessel as many youths had determined to ride the coattails of those they felt had a higher chance at reaching impossible heights within the sect, yet perhaps the most surprising group of all was the now five demons and rising star that had banded together.

Leo, Paku, Malachi, Salazar, Shulvan, and... Lin Tian.

...

...

"We’re finally going back." Luo Yao sighed in satisfaction as she leaned back into her seat, a mysterious gleam in her eyes as she watched her disciple try to be comfortable around the five devils that had commanded fear and terror throughout these six months within the vessel.

Why they had suddenly sought him out to join them, she didn’t know. But she might as well take advantage of this and get her hands on—

"That disciple of yours... a three-headed terror... that’s the martial spirit of the imperial family. Do you have any explanations ready for when you return?" An aged voice interrupted her thoughts as her gaze finally left the scene within the halls, turning towards one of the grand elders seated within the room.

He was a white-haired old man with the disposition of a sage.

"Elder Taixu, you needn’t worry. The affairs of my disciple are, after all, mine to handle," she replied thinly with a small smile.

"I see. Then I wish you all the best." The old man, Elder Taixu, nodded serenely, his eyes closing in meditation as silence reigned within the room.

There were currently more than ten grand elders within this room, yet despite the calm and courteous ambiance, one could feel the underlying storm beneath.

Turns out these people weren’t as united as they seemed.

...

...

"Master... we’re arriving."

My eyes slowly opened as I bit down on the frustration that threatened to spill out from being woken up unnecessarily.

"My apologies, Master. But as per your will, I wish to notify you that we... have arrived."

"The Spirit Ascension Sect awaits your magnificence, oh master of mine."

"Ahhh.... Finally."
