Chaos Devourer System: My Classless Ascension
Chapter 490 - 488:Pressure.
Chapter 490: Chapter 488:Pressure.
The Martial Spirit World.
How did I even begin to put it into words?
Because the moment my eyes landed on the distant planet, only one thought crossed my mind.
"Impressive..."
She was beautiful.
No.
Beautiful wasn’t enough.
The Martial Spirit World was an absolute masterpiece.
Even from this distance, its scale was impossible to comprehend.
It wasn’t simply a massive sphere hanging within the void. It was a world so vast that entire continents looked like intricate patterns upon its surface, great oceans stretching across thousands upon thousands of miles while mountain ranges rose from the land like the spines of ancient beasts.
Clouds wrapped around the planet in enormous spiraling formations, their movements faintly illuminated by the radiance of countless formations buried beneath the atmosphere.
But that wasn’t what caught my attention.
It was the space around it.
The Martial Spirit World sat at the very heart of the High Planar Galaxies.
And it showed.
From every direction, streams of light converged upon the planet.
Thousands.
Millions.
No...
Probably far more than that.
Spatial routes stretched through the void like an incomprehensible web, some appearing as translucent rivers of light while others resembled enormous tunnels carved directly through space.
They came from everywhere.
From distant worlds.
From entire solar systems.
From the far reaches of the surrounding galaxies.
Some routes were so immense that they could accommodate entire fleets, while others were narrow, precise pathways designed for individual cultivators and smaller vessels.
Every few moments, another spatial passage would open somewhere around the planet.
A flash of light.
A ripple through space.
Then a worldship, a cultivation vessel, a fleet, or countless figures would emerge before continuing toward the planet.
And just as quickly, other routes would activate and carry travelers away.
The entire region was in constant motion.
Yet somehow...
It was orderly.
Every spatial route seemed to have its own destination.
Its own origin.
Its own purpose.
Formation arrays the size of continents floated around the planet, connecting the countless spatial passages together and regulating the flow of traffic.
Some rotated slowly like enormous celestial mechanisms.
Others remained perfectly still, their surfaces covered in ancient runes that glowed with enough power to make even the surrounding space tremble.
At several points, I could even see gigantic spatial gates suspended in the void.
They weren’t gates in the conventional sense.
They were structures large enough to swallow cities.
Each one served as an anchor point, linking entire regions of the High Planar Galaxies to the Martial Spirit World.
It was less like looking at a planet...
And more like looking at the central hub of an entire cosmic civilization.
The closer our vessel got, the more ridiculous the scale became.
The planet grew.
And grew.
And grew.
Continents that had initially appeared like faint markings upon its surface revealed themselves to be so enormous that entire civilizations could exist within them without ever knowing of one another.
Mountain ranges pierced the clouds for thousands of miles.
Rivers looked like silver serpents winding across continents.
Oceans stretched beyond the limits of my peripheral vision.
And scattered across the surface were countless points of light.
Cities.
Sect territories.
Imperial domains.
Floating continents.
Ancient ruins.
Cultivation grounds.
Formation networks.
The whole cultivation system package, all gathered in one grand cosmic scale.
The entire world seemed alive.
And then I noticed something else.
The closer we approached, the more I could feel it.
A pressure.
Not hostile.
Not oppressive.
Simply... present.
I knew this world was different the moment I’d learned of its history.
A world capable of influencing the actions of a powerful force like the Calderans would be anything but normal, and this just proved it.
The Martial Spirit World itself possessed an aura.
A presence accumulated through countless years of cultivation, countless civilizations, countless battles, countless inheritances.
It was the kind of presence that could only belong to a world that had stood at the center of something far greater than itself for an unfathomable length of time.
My eyes narrowed slightly, a small smirk playing at the edges of my lips.
So this...
Was the heart of the High Planar Galaxies.
A Prime World.
A world powerful enough to stand among the greatest existences of this region.
A world connected to practically everything around it.
And somehow...
It was even more magnificent than I had imagined.
A faint smile crept across my face.
"Yeah..."
I leaned forward slightly, resting my chin against my hand as I stared at the enormous world ahead.
"This place might actually be fun."
I could feel Terra’s piercing and judgmental stare boring holes through my soul.
The look clearly asking, ’How dare you appreciate another planet whilst I’m literally here?’ but I just shrugged off the suspicious and jealous world.
"We shall be breaking through the world’s atmosphere soon, brace yourselves." The elder’s words reached my ears, and I couldn’t help but wonder what he meant by bracing ourselves.
Luckily enough, the spirit vessel was fast, so in no time, we had passed through the multitude of checkpoints and guard stations that orbited the planet like silent guardians, finally breaking through the planet’s atmosphere, and that’s when it hit everyone,
WOOOOSHHHHH!!!!!
Like a gut punch, many of the candidates on the ship felt their souls shake from the overwhelming aura pressing upon them as the planet’s pressure broke through even the vessel’s barriers, fully saturating the hall where we found ourselves.
It was suffocating. Crushing. Magnificent.
The aura I had felt from the distance and what I was feeling now were day and night apart.
And this... this was still with the vessel acting as a bridge between us and the full force of the world’s aura.
"I see..." So that was why they hadn’t dared let anyone fly towards the planet despite everyone here being capable of surviving the vacuum of space and a planetary re-entry.
I was sure, had any of these guys not at the law creation stages of power or above dared to break into this world unprepared, then there was no doubt they would be turned into paste by the sheer grandeur of the aura the world was releasing.
"I guess it’s to be expected. For a world to birth a group as overbearing as cultivators are, its own consciousness could only be an even more overbearing one." After all, if the planet was weak, then its inhabitants would be free to do with it however they could.
"Not so different from what you did back then, dear wife."
"Humph! It’s nothing like me. I had totally suppressed everyone that came under my influence. The most this thing can do is exact some feeble pressure that anyone powerful enough can just shrug off. We’re not the same."
"Heh! Indeed... my wife is definitely special." No, I wasn’t being biased. Terra was indeed different. After all, like she said, it hadn’t mattered who you were, so long as you came under her dominion, you were left helpless to do anything remotely harmful to her.
Hell, even I myself was suppressed by her until I eventually awakened, so despite her words sounding like the rants of a jealous wife, they were nothing but the absolute truth.
"Humph! And don’t you forget it."
"Yes.. my love. Whatever you say." I couldn’t help but laugh at how fast the always mature and composed Terra had switched up the moment another planet was involved in the conversation.
"Alright. Get yourselves acclimated to the aura of the world. You’re cultivators; if this much is already enough to weigh you down, then you might as well quit while you’re ahead." The elder’s words had no room to cater to the feelings of those still struggling to adapt as he continued, "We shall be making our way towards the imperial palace to pay our greetings to the imperial family, and then, we shall finally make our way to your new home... the Spirit Ascension Sect."
*******
A/N: Terra really doesn’t like hearing anything that involves another planet does she, lol... anyways,
