Chaos Devourer System: My Classless Ascension
Chapter 498 - 496:Auction.
Chapter 498: Chapter 496:Auction.
"Hmm.. is that all?"
"Yep. He seems pretty angry too, like you killed his father or something."
"Hahahahahahahaha!!!! That’s how that snake is—always scheming and trying to prove he’s better than me, something he can never achieve even if I gave him another thousand years of cultivation." Lin Xuan’s disdainful voice came from the screen as the man didn’t take any of what I’d said to heart. Or more like, he didn’t place the threat that was Wu Zhen in his eyes.
We had finally arrived at the outer sect district as everyone made their way to their assigned mansions.
Yes. Mansions, for although the place was called a district, it might as well have been a city within the sect as it had its own ecosystem and way of life.
Naturally, none of those things concerned me at the moment as I had immediately made a beeline for the mansion assigned to me, with the first thing I did being to contact my new friend and tattletale on the sect master, but unlike the reaction I was expecting, Lin Xuan had just laughed it up and dismissed the conversation.
"Hmm.. seems I took this Wu Zhen fellow too seriously for you, huh?"
"Heh! The fella is just a dog barking up a tree he doesn’t fully understand. Worry not; when the time is right, I shall remove the plague that is the Shen family from my High Planar Galaxies once and for all."
"Hmmm?" I couldn’t help but raise a curious brow at that statement.
"That doesn’t sound like a simple personal vendetta," Shaia noted calmly.
"No, it doesn’t. Looks like Xuan here might’ve found out the true history of what happened to his forefather, huh?"
That would explain a lot. The fact that he had gone after the ruling Calderans in the planar galaxies suggests so. And now the clear hatred bleeding out of his voice as he talked about eradicating the Shen family made that likelihood even clearer.
"Looks like things are shaping up quite nicely." It would seem I was in for quite the show in the not-too-distant future.
"Only if nothing else happens to jeopardize your little vacation spree."
"Damn it, Shaia! Can’t you just not be a bummer?"
"I like being called a realistic person better."
"Tch!"
...
"Is that all you had to talk about? Cause I was hoping to discuss more of the Dao with you."
"There’s no more Dao to discuss, you ungrateful prick! You’re trying to run me dry."
"Hehehehe... Young Hero Long Chen, it’s not like that, surely not. I’m merely seeking thy endless wisdom."
"Shamelessness doesn’t look good on you, buddy."
"Tch!"
"Heh! Oh, right, before I forget, the meeting that the Wu fellow is going to call, I want to attend."
"Hmmm? Why?"
"Because I don’t feel like staying in some shitty outer sect and being bored silly."
"Then just make your way into the inner sect. It’s simple: if you can bulldoze your way up the Stairway to Heaven, then you’ll get in."
"Yeah, I know, but where’s the fun in that?"
"You just said you were bored."
"Yeah, but I don’t like rushing the plot. Now stop talking and just answer me."
"Sure, whatever. You can come, though I can’t promise anything exciting."
"Don’t worry, so long as I get to see my beautiful sister-in-law, I’ll be satisfied."
"Stop trying to hit on my wife, Dante."
"Eyy? What happened to Young Hero Long Chen?"
"That mode of address gets thrown out the window when it comes to my junior sister."
"Meh. You can keep her. If you saw the women I’m married to, you wouldn’t have the nerve to stand before me. You’ve seen Nyssara, have you not? Now imagine 9 more of the same caliber and beyond."
"What!? I call bullshit."
"Heh! Sorry if I’m not some short and ugly frog like someone."
"Ack! That’s low."
"And well deserved."
A beat of silence passed between us before,
"Pfft... hahahahahahaha!!!" We burst into laughter.
"Haa.. that’s enough talking. I need to get to my duties before Yin’er starts hounding me. I’ll send word once the meeting is scheduled."
"Alright then."
Done with my goodbye, I cut the connection as silence returned to the room I was in.
"I really cannot understand how you and that emperor could get so in tune in just two days of doing nothing but spewing nonsense and lazing around." Nyssara’s beautiful voice sounded from the bathroom as she walked out with a towel wrapped around her seductive body.
"Damn... you understand that Lucien isn’t here right now, right? If you go around tempting me like that, I may not be able to hold myself back," I cautioned as my eyes literally ate up the masterpiece before me.
"Sha... shameless!" Her embarrassment hit her like a brick as she pulled out her shapeshifting armor, putting it on and changing it into her usual very easy nightgown.
"Bummer."
"Sto.. stop being a pervert and let’s go to bed." She pouted cutely as she pulled me toward the bed.
"Fufufufu... looks like our Nyssara is slowly coming along." Elira, draped in her child-sensitive nightwear—which was basically a semi-transparent piece of string that only covered her nipples and womanhood—teased.
"Husband’s shamelessness can be adapted to when one needs to do so for survival," Terra, a sleepy Lucien in hand, added as she handed the little man to me. "You know what to do."
I could only sigh in defeat as I lay down on my back, placing the little man on my head, his body shrinking as he fell asleep instantly.
"Haa.. I’m really starting to agree more with Elira. This little man needs to go into a cocoon soon, either that or we get him a babysitter cause I can’t take this anymore."
The women just laughed as they all got into bed, taking up their positions and then closing their eyes as slumber took them within mere moments.
For people of our current status, sleep was something we could go our whole lives without, yet something about this little moment of silence spent in each other’s embrace was one neither of us was willing to give up.
And so, with nothing but peaceful thoughts and a hard member, I wrapped my arms around the girls and closed my eyes as I drifted off into peaceful slumber.
...
...
The next day.
"Hey... look."
"Woah! Who are they?"
"I don’t know, but I think they’re part of the new disciples that had just arrived, since I haven’t seen them around before."
"Damn.. who’s the one in the middle? And does he already have a Dao partner?"
"Heh? Look at yourself and look at him, then tell me if you believe you’re even worthy of being his Dao companion."
The commotion around us made a sense of nostalgia well up within me.
It had been a long time since I’d captured the crowd’s attention purely on my looks like this.
Our group had decided to explore the outer sect district and other areas; or rather, I had forced the others to go out exploring with me as I was hellbent on cashing in on any of the fun tropes about to present themselves, but even I couldn’t have expected to stumble upon a cultivation world favorite:
"Hey! Did you hear? The Spring Blossom Court has finally announced the date for their auction."
My ears perked up the moment I heard those words.
"They did? When?"
"A week from today, and I heard that this was going to be their largest event yet, as this year, they’ve got the egg of a genuine divine beast up for auction."
"WHAT!? What did you just say!?..."
The rest of the conversation after that was no longer my concern as I had finally caught wind of my next fun-time entertainment.
"An auction, huh? Well, don’t mind if I do."
*******
A/N: Well, we can’t have a cultivation world without the classice auction event now can we? Hehehehe... anyways as always,
