Chasing His Ex: The Tycoon's Hidden Twins
Chapter 536: Lu Fan Provides an Entire Floor of the Building to Lu Fan as a Studio!
“That’s not what I meant.” Wen Wan’s voice softened. “I mean, do *you* want to go?”
Jiang Sifan was silent for a few seconds before he smiled. “I do. The studio is too small. Everyone is crammed together, and it’s inconvenient to get things done. If we had a bigger place, our work efficiency would definitely improve.”
“Then go,” Wen Wan said with a smile. “Don’t overthink it. He’s your dad; it’s only normal for him to treat you well.”
Jiang Sifan glanced at Wen Wan through the rearview mirror. Her face was softened by the glow of the streetlights, her eyes bright. He didn’t say a word, but he felt much more at ease.
The car arrived outside the girls’ dormitory. Jiang Sifan parked, and Wen Wan stepped out, standing by the curb to look back at him.
“Class President, you should go back and rest early,” Wen Wan said softly.
Jiang Sifan checked his phone. It was only nine forty. He hesitated for a moment before asking, “It’s still early. Do you want to sit over there for a bit?”
He pointed to a row of trees across the street. There were a few stone benches beneath them. During the day, people often sat there to read, but at night, it was quiet and deserted.
Wen Wan followed his gaze. Her face flushed slightly as she nodded.
The two walked over and sat on a stone bench. The trees were massive, their branches and leaves obscuring the streetlights above and dimming the area. Only the distant lights filtered through, casting a hazy glow.
Wen Wan sat next to Jiang Sifan, her hands resting on her knees with her fingers curled slightly. Jiang Sifan’s hand hung by his side, just inches away from hers. Neither of them spoke.
A breeze swept past. RUSTLE. The leaves swayed in the wind. In the distance, a student was jogging; the rhythmic patter of footsteps grew closer, then faded away.
“Class President,” Wen Wan spoke up first.
“Yeah?”
“Do you think I should go with you to look at the office building tomorrow?”
“Of course.” Jiang Sifan turned to look at her. “You’re a partner in the studio. If you don’t go, what’s the point of me going alone?”
Wen Wan let out a soft laugh, her eyes sparkling. “Alright, then I’ll go with you tomorrow,” she said, nodding.
Jiang Sifan stared at her profile. Her eyelashes were long and curled, her nose was straight, and her lips were pursed with a hint of a smile at the corners. His heart suddenly started to race.
“Wen Wan,” he called out to her.
“Hmm?” Wen Wan turned to look at him.
Jiang Sifan opened his mouth to speak but swallowed his words. Lifting his hand from his knee, he slowly reached over and gently grasped her hand.
Wen Wan’s hand was small, soft, and cool to the touch. She didn’t pull away, nor did she speak. She simply lowered her head.
Jiang Sifan held her hand, his thumb gently caressing the back of it. Her fingers twitched before slowly uncurling to intertwine with his. Their fingers locked together in silence.
A breeze blew past, lifting Wen Wan’s hair. It brushed against Jiang Sifan’s face, tickling his skin. He didn’t dodge or move; he just sat there, holding her hand.
After a long while, Jiang Sifan turned his head to look at her. Wen Wan’s head was bowed, her face and ears flushed red, and her eyelashes were trembling slightly.
“Wen Wan,” he called out again.
“Yeah.”
“Look at me for a second.”
Wen Wan hesitated before slowly lifting her head. Her face was completely red, and her bright eyes carried a mix of nervousness, shyness, and a hint of anticipation.
Jiang Sifan’s heart pounded as he looked at her face. Clenching his jaw, he slowly leaned in.
Wen Wan’s breathing hitched as she watched his face draw nearer. She wanted to close her eyes but didn’t dare to, simply staring back at him.
Jiang Sifan was so close that he could see his own reflection in her eyes. His heart beat like a drum, his throat felt dry, and his palms were slick with sweat. He paused, his lips just a few centimeters from her face.
Wen Wan closed her eyes.
Taking a deep breath, Jiang Sifan gently pressed his lips to her cheek. It was light and fleeting, like a feather landing on the surface of a quiet pond.
Her face was burning hot, her skin incredibly smooth. The moment their skin touched, a tingling sensation spread from his lips all the way to his fingertips, coursing through his entire body. He felt as if he had been struck by a jolt of electricity, his mind going completely blank.
Wen Wan’s eyelashes fluttered, but she kept her eyes closed.
Jiang Sifan slowly pulled back and sat upright on the stone bench, staring straight ahead. His hand was still holding hers; he hadn’t let go. Neither of them spoke.
A few seconds later, Wen Wan opened her eyes and lowered her head, blushing as red as a tomato. Her hand twitched within Jiang Sifan’s palm, giving his hand a gentle squeeze.
Jiang Sifan looked down at their joined hands and smiled.
“Wen Wan.”
“Yeah.”
“Your face is so red.”
Wen Wan looked up to glare at him before dropping her head again. A smile tugged at the corners of her lips, impossible to suppress.
Watching her, Jiang Sifan felt as though his heart had been filled with honey, sweet enough to make his chest ache. He held her hand, his thumb rhythmically caressing her skin over and over again.
The two sat under the trees for a long time, neither willing to be the first to say, “Let’s go.”
It wasn’t until a few lights in the dormitory building flicked off that Wen Wan softly murmured, “Class President, I should head back.”
Jiang Sifan checked his phone. It was ten twenty. He nodded and stood up, still refusing to let go of Wen Wan’s hand.
Wen Wan stood up as well. They stood face to face, hands still clasped.
“See you tomorrow,” Jiang Sifan said softly.
Wen Wan nodded.
Jiang Sifan finally released her hand, and Wen Wan turned to walk toward the dormitory. After a few steps, she glanced back at him and waved.
Jiang Sifan waved back.
Wen Wan turned around and ran into the building, disappearing behind the doors.
