Chasing His Ex: The Tycoon's Hidden Twins
Chapter 543: Jiang Sifan Completely Understands Lu Fan! Heartfelt Admiration!!
“Sifan, go stand over there. I’ll take a picture of you.” Wen Wan took out her phone.
Jiang Sifan stood next to the car, unsure of what to do with his hands. He placed them on the door, dropped them back down, shoved them into his pockets, and then pulled them out again.
Wen Wan smiled and pressed the shutter.
The photographer walked over with a smile. “Mr. Jiang, let me take a few photos of you with your new car. Just stand by the driver’s side and try to look natural.”
Jiang Sifan stood as instructed, resting his hand on the car door with a smile playing on his lips.
After snapping a few shots, the photographer asked Wen Wan to join him so they could take a picture together.
Wen Wan stood beside Jiang Sifan. With their arms hanging by their sides, their fingers brushed against one another.
“Get a little closer,” the photographer instructed.
Jiang Sifan shuffled half a step toward Wen Wan until their shoulders were touching. Wen Wan blushed, but she didn’t pull away.
The photographer pressed the shutter with a crisp CLICK.
“One more. Look at the camera and smile.”
Jiang Sifan looked at the lens and smiled. It wasn’t a forced, posed smile, but an expression of genuine joy bubbling up from the bottom of his heart.
After the impromptu photoshoot, Xiaozhou handed the keys to Jiang Sifan. The black keys bore the BMW logo and felt heavy in his palm.
“Mr. Jiang, you’re all set to drive off. The insurance is already active, and the temporary license plate is in the glove compartment. The official plates will be mailed to your school next week,” Xiaozhou said with a smile.
Clutching the keys, Jiang Sifan nodded. He turned to Chen He and asked, “Uncle Chen, is it okay if I drive it back myself?”
“Of course it is. It’s your car,” Chen He replied warmly. “I’ll follow right behind you.”
Taking a deep breath, Jiang Sifan pulled open the door and slipped into the driver’s seat. He adjusted his seat and the rearview mirror, buckled his seatbelt, and gripped the steering wheel.
Wen Wan opened the passenger door, got in, and fastened her own seatbelt. Glancing at him, she said softly, “Drive slowly. There’s no rush.”
Jiang Sifan nodded and started the engine. The motor’s hum was so soft it was practically inaudible. The LCD screen on the dashboard lit up, displaying a stream of vehicle information.
He shifted into drive, released the brake, and the car slowly rolled out of the delivery area.
Once they left the dealership and merged onto the main road, Jiang Sifan drove very slowly, staying under forty kilometers per hour. Both hands rigidly gripped the steering wheel as he stared straight ahead, his back stiff and tense.
Sitting beside him, Wen Wan glanced at the side mirror. Chen He’s car was tailing them at a safe, moderate distance.
“Sifan, relax a little,” Wen Wan said with a smile. “You’re driving really steadily.”
“I am relaxed,” Jiang Sifan replied, though his knuckles remained white around the wheel.
Spotting a traffic light ahead, Jiang Sifan began decelerating from a distance, bringing the vehicle to a smooth halt behind the stop line. He checked the rearview mirror; Chen He’s car had also stopped.
When the light turned green, he released the brake and slowly accelerated.
“I actually went to a rental company to practice these past few days,” Jiang Sifan said. “I rented a Corolla and drove it around for hours.”
Wen Wan chuckled. “No wonder you’re so steady.”
Jiang Sifan glanced at her through the rearview mirror. She was leaning back in her seat, bathed in the sunlight streaming through the window, a warm smile lingering on her lips. He turned his attention back to the road and continued driving.
After a drive of over forty minutes, they arrived at the gates of Jinling Institute of Technology.
Jiang Sifan slowed down, flicked on his turn signal, and pulled into the campus. The internal roads were narrow, with numerous cars parked along both sides. Driving at a snail’s pace, he carefully navigated through the crowds of students as he headed toward the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Building.
There was a small parking lot at the base of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Building that usually couldn’t fit many vehicles. Finding an empty spot, Jiang Sifan had to adjust his steering three times before finally getting the car parked properly.
He killed the engine. With his hands still gripping the wheel, he let out a long, heavy exhale.
“We’re here,” he said, turning to look at Wen Wan.
Wen Wan smiled. “Yeah, we’re here.”
The two of them got out just as Chen He arrived and parked nearby. Chen He stepped out of his vehicle, walked over to inspect the white 3 Series, and nodded. “You parked it perfectly,” he said with a smile.
“Thanks, Uncle Chen,” Jiang Sifan said, looking a little embarrassed.
“I’ll be heading back now. The boss still has matters for me to attend to,” Chen He said.
“Take care, Uncle Chen.” Jiang Sifan nodded.
Chen He got into his car, started his engine, and drove out of the campus gates.
Jiang Sifan stood beside his new car, gazing at the white 3 Series. The sunlight reflected off the paint, giving it a soft, gentle gleam. He reached out and stroked the hood. It felt cool and smooth to the touch.
“Sifan!”
Gao Lao’s voice rang out from above. Jiang Sifan looked up and saw him leaning half his body out of a third-floor window of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Building, waving frantically at him.
Qiu Zai and Brother Ming were also crowded around the window, peering down.
“You got the car?!” Gao Lao shouted.
“I sure did!” Jiang Sifan shouted back with a smile.
Gao Lao ducked back inside. A few seconds later, the three of them came sprinting out of the building.
Gao Lao was the first to charge over. He circled the vehicle, muttering, “Holy shit, this is beautiful. A white BMW. So freaking cool.”
Qiu Zai scurried over as well. Pressing his face against the window to peer inside, he marveled, “The interior is gorgeous too. Look at that huge screen and the steering wheel. Tsk, tsk, tsk.”
Brother Ming stood to the side, pushed up his glasses, and offered a slow, measured remark: “Not bad.”
Gao Lao clapped Jiang Sifan on the shoulder and laughed. “Sifan, from now on, we won’t need to catch a cab when we go out to eat. You can drive us!”
“Dream on,” Qiu Zai said, rolling his eyes at Gao Lao. “You don’t even have a driver’s license.”
“Can’t I just be a passenger? I’ll ride shotgun!” Gao Lao retorted righteously.
“The passenger seat belongs to Wen Wan. You think you have a chance?” Brother Ming drawled slowly.
Wen Wan’s face instantly flushed red. She lowered her head and nervously twirled the hem of her shirt.
Jiang Sifan blushed as well. He coughed to clear his throat but didn’t say a word.
Gao Lao and Qiu Zai exchanged a look and burst into laughter.
