Claimed by the Mad Lycan King

Chapter 152: I WILL WAIT

  • Next Chapter

Zade let Leia vent her frustration because it was indeed a miscalculation on his part. He was not a hundred percent sure of his own instincts and what his mate was actually capable of doing.

Moreover, Altair and Asher agreed his theory was too far-fetched, but it went out of control.

"I will never forgive you if something happens to my son! You will regret it, Zade." Leia’s eyes were bloodshot red. Her whole body was trembling with fear and rage.

She couldn’t imagine that she had to lose yet another child.

When the situation got better, she would probably regret her action, but for now, she wanted to hurt someone before she hurt herself.

"Jeremy will be fine," Zade said. He didn’t even try to dodge Leia when she scratched his neck before Caspian held her back.

"He’d better be!"

Ace was the one who informed Altair and Asher about what had transpired in the dining room after dinner, because Zade was in the hospital to follow closely about Jeremy’s condition, at least until the operation was done.

He might not always show his affection toward everyone around him—with Seara as the exception—but he had known Jeremy since he was a baby and saw him as some sort of part of the family, in a sense.

"They are really the devils," Ace said calmly, but there was a raging storm inside him. "They can do this now."

"Impossible," Jazz said. He then looked at his king, who had the same expression.

Now they learned that the devils could occupy someone else’s body without being detected, instead of simply influencing them.

And based on what Ace recalled, they also owned the original body’s memories. It had been proven by how easily they answered Jeremy’s questions about their teenage days—something that you wouldn’t know unless you had access to the memory.

"It will be even harder to figure out who they are—because they can be anyone," Blake said with a frown. He could feel the headache that they were going to face, and it wouldn’t be the worst.

It was ten years before the dark era, and now the devils had made their move with a new ability that they had obtained.

"Is that true that Zade’s mate can feel it?" Altair asked; he remembered what Zade had said. He was rather adamant about this theory.

"I think so. Zade believes Seara can sense the devils." Ace then explained how Zade had confirmed it.

"No one should know about it." Altair stood up. "Where is Zade’s mate?"

If the devils could do a new trick, then it was essential to keep what Seara could do a secret. It could save them.

That woman’s safety was already in danger for being Zade’s mate alone. And if the devils knew about what she could do, needless to say, they would hunt her down relentlessly.

"Where are you going?" Ace asked as he watched Altair shift into his beast form. "Hey, you can’t meet her without Zade’s permission."

"He will not listen to you," Asher said calmly. He was still sipping his coffee, as if the information about the devils didn’t bother him at all.

"You should have done something," Ace said irritably, and then shifted into his own wolf form and chased after the Lycan.

Jazz shifted into his wolf form as well to follow the two of them, leaving Asher only with his gamma.

"What are you going to do?" Blake asked.

"What should I do?" Asher asked his gamma instead, and the king pursed his lips in response to Blake’s glare. "I am the king here, but why are you being so mean to me?"

"Oh, please. For once, stop being lazy!" Blake was frustrated with Asher because he was being so nonchalant.

On the other hand, Altair went to the bungalow. He didn’t need Ace to tell him where Seara was, since he knew where Zade had put his mate.

After all, this wasn’t his first visit since Zade had found his mate.

And once he arrived at the bungalow, the first light of the sun peeked through a gloomy cloud. The sky was still the color of murky grey, and it seemed it was going to rain.

"What are you going to do, Altair?" Ace immediately blocked Altair from coming closer to the bungalow. "Zade will not like it."

"I don’t even remember when he did like me."

There was a complicated relationship among the Lycans. On some occasions, they seemed like they were going for each other’s throat, while at other moments, they acted as if they didn’t know each other. Later, they would argue and bicker like siblings.

"Tell me, what are you going to talk to her about?" Ace asked. He had already mind-linked a warrior to inform Zade about what happened, because he was still in the hospital waiting for Jeremy’s surgery. It was a well-intentioned gesture he could give Leia, given what he put her son through.

"I just want to make sure that she knows what she is capable of. I want to see it for myself if she can really do that." Altair was very calm. Way too calm. Ace didn’t feel good about it.

"Zade had confirmed that, and we can wait until he is here."

"I am not waiting." Altair then pushed Ace aside and stepped onto the porch of the bungalow.

Meanwhile, Jazz just arrived as he finally managed to catch up with them.

"Tell your king to stand back," Ace said to Jazz sternly.

But after one look from Altair, Jazz immediately shut his mouth. "I don’t think I can say anything," Jazz said apologetically.

As for Ace, he couldn’t restrict Altair without a physical altercation, and it wouldn’t end well for him to fight a Lycan.

He needed Zade to be here right in this instant.

On the other hand, Altair entered the room, and Zephyr was already there. "Step aside."

"She is sleeping," Zephyr replied firmly. Ace had told him what happened.

"I will wait."
