Chapter 221: THE SPOILED BRAT

The alphas were shocked when they heard Asher’s command, but they couldn’t disagree with the direct order. They had to be there to lead their warriors, and this was the only way to save the rest of their pack that had not been controlled by the Quantum Protocol.

And with that, all of the alphas went to Grand Sturm City with a hasty preparation, including Rexton. But Silas would stay back to take care of everything else in the alpha’s absence.

During this time, the people were on the edge of panicking because they didn’t know whether they had to run for their lives or stay put.

Thankfully, right after the meeting, they announced what step they had to take next, which was a relief for some people, but it didn’t lift the heavy tension in the air. They were on the verge of breaking down, knowing how close the enemy was.

"We will go back to the Blackthorne Pack; you should come with us too," Tansy said out of the blue when she found Seara in the children’s unit. She had been spending most of her time here, and it was easy to find her.

Seara was startled when she heard Tansy’s voice all of a sudden; she turned around and looked at her former adoptive mother.

The hatred in her eyes made Tansy shudder, and she tried to continue with the conversation.

"Let’s go back. You don’t need to be here; this is not your place." Tansy took a bold step closer toward Seara when she didn’t answer her right away. "Let’s go, pack your things. We will go home with Silas. I heard King Zade is already in Lockheart City; he is on his way here to get you, so it is better if you are in a safe place."

Seara couldn’t comprehend the audacity of this woman to pretend those dark years in her life had never happened, and now she wanted to act like they were family again.

"There is no safe place for me when you are around." Seara swatted Tansy’s hand when she tried to touch her. "Don’t touch me."

Tansy had the audacity to look hurt when Seara did that.

"Are you feeling superior just because your mate is a king? Do you think you are above all of us because of that?" Tansy looked furious now. "Don’t forget, you belong to our family. We raised you; we provided for you. If it had not been for us, you would have died on the street. You would have been mauled by a wild animal. Show some gratitude. I don’t raise you to be a spoiled brat."

Seara gritted her teeth when she heard the accusation, but when she spoke, her voice was eerily calm. "I prefer you to leave me on the street, because the years when I lived under your roof were the worst thing that had happened in my life. Even in this chaotic situation, I prefer this place rather than to go back under your thumb."

Tansy looked shocked when she heard what Seara was saying; she widened her eyes and clutched her chest—a gesture that Seara was very familiar with, because she had seen it countless times.

"And one more thing: you have never done anything that could potentially make me a spoiled brat. It is too far-fetched for you to think I could be a spoiled brat when you treated me like a servant."

Currently, Seara was holding Rose; she was a little bit calmer now, but she would keep asking about her mother and father, and occasionally her brother, since he was out on duty. Sam was not part of the warriors who were sent to the Grand Sturm City because he was the last male in his family.

All of the warriors who were the only child or the only surviving male in their families were not allowed to go. Even so, the number didn’t dwindle too much.

This condition applied to the alpha too, but fortunately, or unfortunately for Rexton, his mate had just given birth to their son a month prior, so he had to leave since he had an offspring behind.

"If I had known you would be this ungrateful, I would have never agreed to take care of you!" Tansy was losing her patience with Seara. She raised her hand and slapped her so hard across her face.

Because Seara was holding Rose close to her, the baby got the impact too; Tansy’s nail grazed her cheek, which made her cry out loud.

Richie was the only one there, but she was in the other room. Only when she heard the commotion and Rose’s cry did she come out to find out what was going on.

But all she could see was Leia slapping Tansy so hard that she literally fell on her butt, holding her cheek and blinking in confusion, as if she couldn’t comprehend what had just struck her because it happened so fast.

It was Tansy’s bad luck; she slapped Seara right at the same time Leia entered the room. She didn’t know what the problem between the two of them was, but there was no way in hell she would let someone slap her child before her eyes, and she did nothing.

"How dare you!" Tansy was furious, but she was mistaken if she thought she could make Leia back down.

Her mate was a Lycan, and she had been the only woman figure in the residence for so many years, where his mate and her sons pampered her. No one dared to even raise their voice at her, not only because she was Caspian’s mate, but also because she had her own temper.

Tansy tried to stand up, but Leia kicked her again, so she stayed on the floor.

"How dare you kick me!" Tansy was screaming now; she had never been slapped before, and it was humiliating, but Leia wouldn’t let it go.

In the end, Leia vented her frustration about the situation to Tansy.
