[MOSKOWSKY]

"Don’t even think about pulling that trigger," Svet said calmly as Rahim throat-punched the governor, hard.

They could swear that a bone had broken or something, given how fast Rahim was and how she went back to being the composed Grandma Betty secretary that she had been.

The governor hunched over, his neck red as he struggled to recover. He looked like he was having a hard time breathing, and a soldier stepped forward again. This time the others didn’t let her.

"If I don’t fix him, he will die, and we will finally get to shoot each other. Pick a struggle, or let me save him," Rahim said, fixing her nerd glasses.

"She’s right. You might need more than just her to fix the throat," Meera said casually as she leaned in, grabbed the governor by the waist, and forced him to sit down before she began assessing him.

"Goodness, Rahim. This is not one of your sniping tools. What the fuck did he do for you to cause this much damage?" Meera scolded. You would think she wasn’t readying herself to punch him too.

"Called me darling," Rahim grumbled.

"And he got a throat punch only? You threw me out the window when I did that, you crazy woman!" Meera frowned as she fixed the governor while Rahim just shrugged.

"You held your own very well," Volkov said, and suddenly Meera was just another shy girl trying to impress her crush.

"Okay, before I actually throw you out the window again, I am going to step out. Excuse me," Rahim groaned, stepping out, making sure to drag Volkov with her.

"Why are you leaving us with her!" Andre complained.

"You have bigger issues with Katya than Meera’s failed romance with this idiot!" Rahim said, and then left.

"It’s not a failed romance. I am trying to be good," Meera grumbled, while the soldiers who had come with the governor stood more confused than they had been before.

What in the world had they walked themselves into?

"Mr. Moskowsky, there are accusations against you, and we are here to arrest you, and the Romanov heir too," the governor said once Meera patched him up and walked out too, as she had only come to fix the governor, nothing more.

"My Solnyshka is underdressed. He’ll take a shower while we wait... actually, I need to take a shower too. You can interrogate Svet and Andre. We will be back in thirty minutes or an hour.

"Depending on how warm the water is," Sergei said, and Svet snorted at the way the alpha was staring at the governor.

He looked at Governor Morozov like he couldn’t believe a whole governor was determined not to use his brain and be dragged into whatever chaos was being triggered around the Moskowskys.

But then what else was there anyway, right?

"You can’t leave," the governor said.

"I am leaving with my boyfriend. You can try following me, but you and your men will have to go through these two first. Good luck knowing where your corpses will be found.

"If they’re not... ground," Sergei said before turning to Katya, who was still hiding behind him.

The omega was in the alpha’s long shirt and still had nothing underneath it.

He looked so fucked out and tired that Sergei just smiled and carried him bridal style out the door, where the soldiers stepped aside casually, knowing damn well this man wasn’t to be interrupted.

It was unhinged how they had come with so much force and had nothing to do now because Sergei had made his decision, and the psychos who were known to grind dead bodies and even live ones were smiling at them like the sun was definitely high up.

"They’ll be back. We are still curious what the people are doing with their lives right now, Governor," Andre said, turning his attention to the governor, who was too shocked to even think.

His seat was a little too close to the window, and one wrong move and he would be flying seventy floors down. Not that the Moskowskys cared one bit about it.

"You are murderers," the governor accused.

"Yes," Svet responded like that wasn’t already incriminating them.

"Is that a formal admission?" Governor Morozov asked, and Svet snickered. This governor was really a piece of work.

"Do you want me to bring Aleksandr so you can kiss his ass and believe that maybe I’m telling the truth?" Svet accused, and one of the soldiers got too close, pressing the muzzle of his gun against Svetlana’s temple.

It was meant to intimidate the woman. Instead, she just looked at the governor before redirecting the muzzle to her forehead like it was not something that could blow her brains off.

"Careful, Miss Vasilieva," Governor Morozov warned.

"I am being careful, Governor. If I wasn’t, you’d be dead," Svet laughed softly, her eyes never leaving the governor’s even with the muzzle on her forehead.

"Accidents can happen, especially with weapons that dangerous," the governor said, insinuating that they had the power to shoot the people here and they would get away with it.

Which was interesting, to say the least, because Svet wasn’t even surprised. She’d been taught to expect shit like this, trained by Mr. Romanov and Mrs. Romanov to make sure things didn’t always catch them off guard.

And it was a tad crazy where all that knowledge was being dispensed.

"I know, right? Like neck ointments that can have the throat swell and the patient never get back their voice. Or maybe the nano-molecules of a nerve agent whose antidote is dependent on facts gotten from this room, right?

"Ah, but of course accidents happen, Governor. Could explain why your soldiers are suddenly dizzy and look like they want to get some uninterrupted long sleep, right?" Svet said casually.

The governor froze.

These people were unhinged.

He knew that coming in.

But when the first soldier fell to the floor, his gun firing into the wall, the governor knew he had messed with the wrong crew. But shit, this wasn’t even the entire Hercules operational team.

"What did you do?!" the governor screeched in rage, and Andre just turned the TV on.

Their faces were all over the news with the worst of accusations.

Worse, Katya was out there being slandered for shit that he didn’t even try to do. He was innocent, and fuck if things had gotten this complicated.

"Nothing. You came and found me playing with my friend and decided to ruin it with your presence. I could have won an extra three bucks with the remaining bets," Andre grumbled.

And the governor stared helplessly at the former special ops soldier, not to mention the unhinged woman with crazy MMA skills.

Would he be able to get out of this?

Would Sergei return to find the governor alive or doomed at the hands of the Romanov friends?

"You lot are crazy," the governor piped out when the rest of his soldiers fell with a thud to the floor. Life was changing fast, and they didn’t know where to begin.

But perhaps home was a good place to start, right?

"The city thinks we are murderers, which is not even fair because we only ground up the bodies after we found them by accident. Think of it like a renewable energy kind of thing," Svet said calmly, unnerving the governor even more.

"You look like you have juicy bones... Thanks for bringing yourself," Svet chuckled darkly, like that was her new favorite game.

"What do you want with us, Governor?" Katya asked forty-five minutes later.
