Chen Xing reached into her satchel and pulled out two grenades. Pinpointing the position of the moving figure inside, she tossed them in.

After the explosion, thick black smoke billowed out of the room.

A petite figure darted out from the black smoke, clutching two cross-shaped throwing stars, and lunged at Chen Xing.

As Chen Xing dodged, the dagger in her hand flew out and struck the woman square in the forehead.

As the petite woman collapsed, a bloodcurdling scream erupted from within the room.

It was as if *she* were the one who had been struck down.

The floor beneath them had collapsed—utterly pulverized into dust and debris. At least three floors below were in the same shattered state.

By the time Chen Xing managed to control their descent and land safely, everything in the building from their position upward—aside from the outer load-bearing walls—had been reduced to rubble.

The entire area was plunged into darkness, with only the moonlight streaming in through the glass windows.

And... the member of the Yamato Clan, whose face Chen Xing hadn’t even seen, had been reduced to a pool of blood.

Before unleashing her body’s energy, she had cursed Chen Xing with hatred in her native tongue.

He collapsed to the ground, staring at the unbelievable scene before him.

After collecting himself, he stood up and searched all around before returning to Chen Xing’s side. "The exit is gone!"

The collapse had completely buried the exit.

Just then, the dust and rubble began to shift.

Chen Xing turned to see the ground cracking open as something began to climb out.

It was the zombies that had been locked up in the Beast Fighting Arena.

Along with the zombies, several Lizard Monsters were also frantically struggling to get out.

Chen Xing put away the number tag and started killing the Lizard Monsters.

Meanwhile, Carson targeted the zombies that hadn’t fully emerged from the rubble and took care of them.

The woman who had turned into a pool of blood said that was her younger sister. It was highly likely they were being researched together.

"I’ve heard rumors about a secret base underneath our city. I can’t believe it’s real," Carson said, also noticing something was amiss.

The underground levels in their residential area were all designed for shelter and transit; they didn’t have any life support systems.
