Delicate Villainess, Desperate Males – A Beast World Reverse Harem
Chapter 380: A Punishing Kiss
Chapter 380: Chapter 380: A Punishing Kiss
Bai Wanwan tiptoed closer and sat down beside the stone bed.
The cubs excitedly tried to jump onto the bed, but Bai Wanwan stopped them.
She raised a finger to her lips and shushed the cubs. "Be good. Father Beast is still recovering. You can have a look, but don’t disturb him."
The cubs lined up in a neat row. Though they were at an age where they should be boisterous and active, they controlled themselves, neither fidgeting nor making a sound, and nodded obediently.
The cubs stared longingly at Chou Rong for a while before the eldest tiger cub led them out of the room.
After the cubs left, Bai Wanwan didn’t rush to leave. Instead, she carefully inspected his wounds.
After a night, the severe wounds treated with the Extreme Effect Golden Sore Medicine had already scabbed over.
The cut on his face had also scabbed over, but she wondered if it would leave a scar.
Her fingers unconsciously moved to his cheek, the pad of her finger tracing the scabbed wound.
"Hurry up and wake up. I promised the cubs you would be awake in the next couple of days. Don’t make me go back on my word."
As she checked his injuries, she also spoke with her system.
"Hua Sheng, he was unconscious last night because his injuries were too severe. Now that his wounds have scabbed over, why isn’t he awake yet?"
"It’s likely due to excessive blood loss. His body’s self-preservation mechanism is at work."
Bai Wanwan nodded, staring at the scar on his face. "Can you check the scar on his face? Will the Extreme Effect Golden Sore Medicine be able to fix it?"
"Rest assured, Host. It’s a new wound. One application of Extreme Effect Golden Sore Medicine will be enough to heal it."
Bai Wanwan immediately relaxed. As she drew her hand back from his face, it accidentally brushed past a certain little nub.
The man’s eyelashes trembled, and he grabbed her wrist before he even opened his eyes.
Bai Wanwan tugged, but she couldn’t pull her hand away at all.
In that brief moment, Chou Rong opened his eyes, the fatigue in them gradually giving way to clarity.
"Bai Wanwan, what are you doing?" His voice was hoarse and raspy, but not unpleasant.
If one listened closely, they could detect a hint of annoyance.
The sensation still lingering on her fingertips, Bai Wanwan guiltily tried to pull her hand away again. "N-Nothing."
Chou Rong snorted coldly, pushing himself into a sitting position with one arm. "I was only asleep, not dead..."
He had woken up once last night, found himself here, and roughly understood what had happened before falling asleep again.
The second time, he was truly just asleep; his body needed the sleep to recover.
But males are naturally alert. Perhaps his injuries had dulled his senses slightly, so he hadn’t noticed her the moment she approached.
But he wasn’t so out of it that he couldn’t feel her touch.
His gaze held a dangerous glint. He refused to let go of her hand, simply staring at her.
One look at him and Bai Wanwan knew he must have figured everything out.
To keep denying it now would just seem sleazy.
"Ahem... I was just checking your wound. My hand slipped when I was pulling it back. Really, I wasn’t trying to do anything to you..."
Her expression was incredibly sincere, and she even fluttered her eyelashes at Chou Rong a couple of times.
But as Chou Rong looked at her lovely face, he thought, ’It’s true what they say. The more beautiful the female, the better she is at lying.’
The corner of his mouth curved into a smirk. Just as Bai Wanwan thought he believed her and was about to let her go, he suddenly asked, "Bai Wanwan, if you weren’t trying to do anything to me, then how did my cubs come into being?"
Bai Wanwan felt as if she’d been struck by lightning.
Back then, although she hadn’t been the one to drug Chou Rong, he had been served up on a platter, and she had willingly partaken.
A flash of inspiration struck her. Bai Wanwan immediately frowned. "What are you talking about? I injured my head a while ago and forgot a lot of things. If you have time, why don’t you tell me how we met and got together?"
The female’s attitude had changed too quickly, and the natural intimacy she had shown him before was gone.
He chuckled inwardly and suddenly pulled her into his arms.
An unfamiliar male scent washed over her, and Bai Wanwan froze, lying stiffly in his embrace.
Now that her memories were back, even though she and Chou Rong had been intimate once, they didn’t know each other at all.
But she still remembered the foolish things she had done in the past few days. Because of the cubs, she had mistaken Chou Rong for her Beast Husband.
She had kissed him, touched him, and acted shamelessly.
She was so embarrassed she wanted to dig a whole villa with her toes and move in. (A one-bedroom apartment is too small; you can wrong anyone, but you can’t wrong yourself.)
So, she couldn’t push him away now. She had to bite the bullet and keep up the amnesia act.
Then, she deliberately relaxed and wrapped her arms around his waist, which boasted eight-pack abs and chiseled V-lines.
Mischievously, she said, "I’ve forgotten everything. Hurry up and tell me about it."
Chou Rong lowered his gaze, watching as the female in his arms went from stiff to slowly relaxing.
A smirk played on his lips as he looked down at the half of her face visible against his chest.
"Alright. If you want to hear it, I’ll tell you."
Bai Wanwan immediately perked up her ears. She was curious to hear what kind of story he would spin from their shallow history.
She was so eager she felt like grabbing a small stool to listen, but soon, she couldn’t bring herself to smile.
"At the time, I was severely injured by Zhu Li, and you took me in..."
’Did that really happen?’
Bai Wanwan thought it might have been something the original owner of her body did...
But she had memories of what the original owner did, too. ’Maybe there are some gaps in my memory,’ she thought.
After a moment’s thought, she continued to listen intently.
"After you took me in, before I even had a chance to heal, you forced me to become your mate and then got pregnant with my cubs."
Bai Wanwan’s eyes widened. She couldn’t help but ask, "And then what?"
Chou Rong’s lips twitched into a smile as he continued, "And then you said you would always be good to me, that no matter how many Beast Husbands you had, I would always be your favorite."
"I..." ’Did I really say that?’
’Lies! He’s so good at making things up!’
’This definitely didn’t happen with the original owner. After all, I was the one here after getting pregnant with the cubs.’
She had never said anything like that to him.
"What were you going to say?" A strange, unreadable light flickered in Chou Rong’s eyes.
Bai Wanwan opened her mouth but decided to continue with her act.
"What happened later?"
"Later, you deliberately abandoned our cubs..."
"You..."
Bai Wanwan wanted to curse him out. She hadn’t abandoned them deliberately at all.
The words changed as they reached her lips. "How could I possibly abandon the cubs?"
"You’d have to ask yourself. But after that incident, you promised me you’d give me eight or ten more cubs."
"You’re lying!"
Bai Wanwan couldn’t take it anymore. Not a single word of what he said was true.
She shot up straight, but Chou Rong grabbed the back of her neck and pulled her close.
A punishing kiss fell heavily upon her lips.
Bai Wanwan tried to fight back, but he held her down completely.
Before long, she was struggling to breathe, but the male still didn’t let her go, occasionally giving her a breath of air.
It made her feel like a dying fish, completely dependent on him.
"Chou... Chou Rong..."
