Chapter 714: 7-Day High Tower
Chapter 714: Chapter 714: 7-Day High Tower
Shu Feng handed the Seven-Day Tower invitation to the man in black, who was as still as a corpse.
The moment the man in black took the invitation.
Seven round spots of light, like miniature suns, immediately appeared on the seemingly ordinary invitation.
"Get in the carriage!"
The man in black said coldly, returning the invitation to Shu Feng.
Holding the invitation, Shu Feng boarded the carriage.
The sound of hooves echoed as the black carriage drove into a thick fog.
Inside the carriage, the Seven-Day Tower invitation suddenly bloomed with a warm light that enveloped Shu Feng.
Waves of spatial fluctuations spread out, only to be blocked by the Barrier released from the Seven-Day Tower invitation.
"We’re here. Get out!"
The man in black’s cold voice sounded, and Shu Feng immediately stepped down from the carriage.
As soon as Shu Feng got out, he saw a massive city surrounded by fifty-meter-high walls appear before him.
This great city was the Seven-Day Tower, one of the three most powerful Magic Academies in the Fiery Sun Empire.
"Go on in."
The man in black left with those cold words, riding the carriage into a thick fog and disappearing from sight.
Shu Feng clutched the Seven-Day Tower invitation and walked to the entrance of the giant city’s gate.
Embedded at the entrance of the massive gate was the head of a Demon that looked like a fox but had three eyes.
That Demon was the rare Illusion-Breaking Void Fox, a creature with the Ability to see through any Illusion Technique. Even a Void Demon Duke with Mastery of Transformation Skill would find it difficult to deceive its eyes.
The moment Shu Feng walked up to the city gate, the Illusion-Breaking Void Fox’s third eye shot out a cyan beam of light that landed on him.
"Human. No Transformation Technique or Illusion Technique used!"
The Illusion-Breaking Void Fox cried out.
"Young man, bring your invitation over here!"
The fifty-meter-high wall rippled and formed a human face, while the ground shifted and formed a giant stone hand that appeared before Shu Feng.
Shu Feng placed the Seven-Day Tower invitation on the giant stone hand.
"Paul! The apprentice recommended by Jessica. Come in!"
After taking the invitation, the giant stone hand glanced at it, returned it to Shu Feng, and a large gate located in the mouth of the face slowly opened, like a Giant opening its cavernous maw.
An ordinary person would have been terrified by this sight and wouldn’t have dared to enter.
Shu Feng, putting on a superb act, let his expression change slightly. He hesitated for a moment before gritting his teeth and striding toward the gate.
As soon as Shu Feng entered the gate, a chilling wind blew past, and a pale-faced, stunningly beautiful woman with blue hair and green eyes appeared before him like a Ghost.
"I am Valina. Follow me!!"
Valina left him with those icy words and turned to float forward.
That’s right, Valina was floating!
’A Ghost? This Magic Academy, the Seven-Day Tower, is certainly living up to my expectations.’
The corner of Shu Feng’s mouth lifted slightly as he followed Valina.
"This is the library!"
"This is the dining hall!"
"..."
Valina led Shu Feng through the Seven-Day High Platform, introducing the various buildings and restricted areas within the Seven-Day Tower.
Shu Feng was currently just a Magic Apprentice, so he could only move about the outer areas of the Seven-Day Tower, which was called an academy but was in fact a massive city.
Within the Seven-Day Tower, there were countless restricted areas that Shu Feng was not allowed to enter. If he were to step foot in such a place, it would basically be a death sentence.
Under Valina’s guidance, Shu Feng was brought to a sixty-square-meter, exquisitely decorated single room to stay in. This was his dormitory.
「The next morning」 Shu Feng arrived at the great hall.
Two hundred young people with extraordinary auras had already gathered in the great hall. They were all Magic Apprentices who held dreams of becoming a Mage.
Before long, a plain-looking, middle-aged man wearing a Magic Robe walked into the great hall. He was flanked by an extremely gorgeous, red-haired Female Mage and a male Mage who wore a permanent scowl, as if everyone owed him a huge sum of money.
"I am Gonnes, and I am in charge of this year’s Magic Apprentice recruitment for the Seven-Day Tower. The academy will assign you a mentor based on your Talent."
"Of course, you can also spend Magic Stones to gain the right to choose your own mentor. However, whether your chosen mentor accepts you as their apprentice will depend on their mood."
"Alright! You may now come up to have your aptitude tested."
Gonnes said indifferently, taking out a Crystal Ball and placing it on a table.
"I’ll go first!"
An uncommonly handsome youth stepped forward and placed his hand on the Crystal Ball.
A faint, earthy yellow light began to shine.
"Lower Earth Magic Talent! Next!"
Gonnes said coldly.
The youth’s eyes dimmed, and he walked back down.
In the Gulondo World, Magic Talent is divided into six levels: Incompetence, Lower Class, Middle Class, Upper Class, Superior, and Extraordinary. The vast majority of ordinary people have a Magic Talent of Incompetence.
Most Magic Apprentices and First-level Mages have a Lower Class Magic Talent.
In the Seven-Day Tower, students with a Lower Class Magic Talent are not taken seriously at all.
"Medium Wind Magic Talent, next!"
"..."
One by one, the young men and women came forward to be tested, but their Talents were only Lower Class and Middle Class.
"Incompetence! Next!"
Gonnes’s voice rang out. A tall, beautiful girl with blonde hair, blue eyes, and delicate features turned pale and staggered away from the Crystal Ball.
"That’s Celine of the Damman Family. She’s actually an Incompetent!!"
"The Damman Family are Magic Nobles, and they’ve produced many powerful Mages over the generations. For her to be an Incompetent... now this is interesting."
"..."
Many gloating gazes fell upon Celine, and a few of those stares suddenly flickered with greed.
Celine was exceptionally beautiful; among everyone present, only one other girl could rival her looks. But she was an Incompetent. In the Magic Realm, her status was only slightly higher than that of a commoner. That, combined with her beauty, instantly made her prey in the eyes of others.
In the Magic Realm, Incompetence is a sin. To be both incompetent and beautiful is an even greater sin!
"Ice Element Upper Class!!"
A peerlessly beautiful girl with long blue hair and an icy demeanor placed her hand on the crystal, and it immediately burst forth with a brilliant, icy light.
