Chapter 720 - 708: Marrying a Rich Man (11)
Chapter 720: Chapter 708: Marrying a Rich Man (11)
Archie Lockwood’s eyes narrowed, a dangerous, cold smile on his face. "Heh, whatever you’re thinking has nothing to do with me. What I care about is whether or not you’re going to keep pestering me and my daughter."
"Archie Lockwood, if I wanted to get involved with you, I would have done it long ago. I wouldn’t have waited until now. From the day I decided to give Rory to you, I never once thought about bothering you again."
"You’d better mean that." Hearing Eleanor Bishop’s words, Archie Lockwood’s expression grew incredibly dark.
’Never once thought about it? Great. What a heartless woman.’
’She’d even abandon her own daughter!’
Eleanor Bishop turned her head away. "But it’s true."
The woman’s words made Archie Lockwood grit his teeth in anger. Furious, he spun around and stormed off.
After paying the bill, he ignored the woman following him and walked straight out of the hospital.
Eleanor Bishop hesitated, unsure whether to follow Archie Lockwood. ’If I don’t, how can I pay him back? But if I do, it’ll look like I really am trying to get involved with him.’
Archie Lockwood opened his car door, got in, and saw the woman standing about six feet away.
He didn’t start the engine. Instead, he waited for her to get in the car.
After three or four minutes passed and she still hadn’t moved, he gripped the steering wheel, his eyes fixed on where Eleanor Bishop stood.
’In all these years, he’d never been as angry as he was today.’
’Sure enough, the moment he ran into Eleanor Bishop, his peaceful life was shattered.’
’He had to get Eleanor Bishop out of his life!’
With that thought, he started the engine, rolled down the window, and barked coldly at Eleanor Bishop, "Are you getting in or not!"
"Oh." Eleanor Bishop answered meekly and quickly jogged over.
Once she was in the passenger seat, she looked at Archie Lockwood anxiously. "Um, the money... I’ll pay you back as soon as I get home."
"Hah, don’t bother. It’s not like I’m hurting for that little bit of cash," Archie Lockwood replied with a sneer, his hands tight on the steering wheel.
Eleanor Bishop’s face went pale. "I know you’re not short on money, but I don’t want to owe you anything else."
"Hah, is that so? You don’t want to owe me anything?" Her words struck Archie Lockwood as exceptionally ironic. ’Doesn’t want to owe me anything?’
"Yes, that’s right."
"I believe I also paid off a debt for you today. Are you planning to pay me back for that, too?"
At the thought of that one million, Eleanor Bishop’s expression soured even more. "That... um... when I have the money, I’ll pay you back."
Hearing this, Archie Lockwood’s temper flared. He slammed his hand on the steering wheel and roared, "Eleanor Bishop, what the hell do you want? Spit it out! What kind of game are you trying to play?"
Seeing how furious Archie was, Eleanor Bishop grew nervous and hurriedly explained, "You’ve misunderstood! I’m not trying to play any games. I’m just trying to stick to our agreement."
"Agreement?"
"Yes. Don’t worry, I won’t disturb your and Rory’s lives."
"Hah..." ’Won’t disturb?’
Archie Lockwood’s laugh filled Eleanor Bishop with dread. Her face grew paler and her voice more anxious. "I really won’t bother you again. Please, believe me."
"If you’re not going to bother us, then get out!" Archie Lockwood’s eyes narrowed as he jabbed a finger in her direction.
"..." Eleanor was stunned into silence by his harsh shout.
