Chapter 775: Chapter 763: Attracting Romantic Trouble (3)
"True love..." Shannon Vance frowned, murmuring the words under her breath.
’Yeah, what if this time it’s true love?’
’The Archie Lockwood in her memory, the Archie she knew, had never truly cared for any woman. That’s why, for all these years, she had always let other women get close to him.’
Seeing the awful look on Shannon Vance’s face, Shirley Lockwood felt a pang of sympathy and asked with concern, "Miss Shannon, what’s wrong?"
"I-I’m fine..." With a pale face, Shannon Vance shook her head. She looked at Shirley Lockwood and asked cautiously, "Rory, am I usually good to you?"
"You are!" ’Aside from wanting to marry Dad, Miss Shannon is pretty nice to me.’
"Since I’m very good to you, you’ll be on my side, right?"
Shirley Lockwood nodded without a second thought. "Mhm, that’s right..."
"Then, Rory, would you be willing to be my little helper?"
"I am."
"Then will you help me, Rory, by secretly keeping an eye on your dad and Miss Bishop’s every move? Okay?"
"Okay, no problem."

Upstairs, after Archie Lockwood dressed Eleanor Bishop, he saw her sullen expression and his anger surged.
’He’d already done so much for her—personally bringing her clothes and even dressing her himself. What more could she possibly want?’
"Eleanor Bishop, my patience has its limits!"
’It’s not like I asked him to put up with me...’
Seeing Eleanor Bishop turn her head away in displeasure, his handsome face darkened as he swept her up from the bed into his arms.
Just as they reached the door, Archie Lockwood suddenly thought of something. With a grim face, he reminded her in a cold voice, "Downstairs in the living room, there’s a woman who is ten times better than you in terms of status and looks. After I take you down, you should know how to behave, right?"
Eleanor Bishop froze at his words.
’A woman ten times better than me in status and looks?’
"What? You have a problem with that?"
"No, don’t worry. I know what to do." ’Since he made a point of warning me, this person must be very important to him. How could I dare say the wrong thing?’
Archie Lockwood shot Eleanor Bishop a furious glare and warned her again, "Hah. Eleanor Bishop, you’d better know how to act. Just make sure you don’t piss me off."
Seeing Archie Lockwood yell at her like that over another woman stung Eleanor. Her eyes reddened, and she lowered her head.
Archie Lockwood carried Eleanor Bishop downstairs. Shannon Vance immediately rose from the sofa, a gentle smile on her face. "Archie..." she called out softly.
At the sound of her voice, Eleanor’s heart dropped. Her face drained of color as she looked up at Archie Lockwood.
’Archie? She actually called him Archie?’
Archie Lockwood, of course, saw Eleanor’s reaction and was secretly delighted. In a good mood, he gave a cool grunt of acknowledgment and carried Eleanor over to a nearby sofa.
Shannon Vance hadn’t expected Archie to respond at all. The smile on her face deepened, and her voice grew even softer. "Archie, is this the Miss Bishop you were talking about?"
Archie Lockwood set Eleanor Bishop down on the sofa. "That’s her," he said with a nod, his voice low.
"Oh, so this is Miss Bishop. She’s quite beautiful." ’Just like Rory said, a delicate, fragile-looking woman...’
’Although, she doesn’t seem that much more beautiful than I am...’
’Other than that innate air of fragility she has, she doesn’t seem to have any other advantage over me.’
