Eleanor Bishop looked at the confident, beautiful, and young woman before her and lowered her gaze.

’She had never spoken to Archie Lockwood with such familiarity, not like this woman.’

When neither Archie Lockwood nor Eleanor Bishop spoke, Shannon Vance’s lips curved into a gentle smile. "Miss Bishop, I heard from Archie that you’re having some trouble with your legs. May I ask what happened? Was there some kind of accident?"

Archie Lockwood’s face darkened. He looked down at the woman beside him, and when he saw no change in her expression, his brow furrowed even more tightly.

Seeing she was getting a reaction, Shannon Vance pressed on with a smile. "Also, I know several specialists abroad. If Miss Bishop is interested, I can help."

He scoffed. ’Specialists from abroad?’

’Does she think that he, Archie Lockwood, doesn’t have the ability to find his own international specialists?’

Hearing Archie Lockwood’s cold scoff, Shannon Vance knew he was underestimating her. She pressed on, refusing to back down. "Archie, you have to believe me. I studied medicine, after all. I have more connections in this field than you do."

Archie Lockwood frowned, his eyes downcast as he sank into thought.
