Chapter 786: Chapter 774: The Little Detective (4)

Archie Lockwood’s patience had run out. In a low, angry voice, he spoke again, "What do you want to eat? I’ll have someone make it."

"I’m not hungry," Eleanor Bishop said, shaking her head.

’He’d just arrived at the Vance family’s home when he started thinking about her. Worried she hadn’t eaten, he’d rushed all the way back, only for her to tell him she wasn’t hungry?’

At that thought, Archie Lockwood’s patience vanished completely. His handsome face turned cold as he forcefully yanked Eleanor Bishop into his arms. "I’m hungry. You’re eating with me."

"Oh, fine. I’ll eat with you then," Eleanor Bishop replied faintly, swallowing her anger and forcing herself to yield.

Hearing the heavy reluctance in Eleanor Bishop’s voice, Archie Lockwood suppressed his irritation and asked coldly, "What do you want to eat?" ’His temper really was getting better lately,’ he thought sarcastically.

’The way this woman treated him... and he still managed not to explode.’

’He’d barely arrived at the banquet before rushing home, all because he was worried this woman would be neglected, that she wouldn’t eat properly...’

"Aren’t you the one who’s hungry? We can just eat whatever you want," Eleanor Bishop said, her brow furrowed in confusion.

Archie Lockwood’s eyebrow twitched coldly. "I want to eat you," he said harshly. "Are you on the menu?"

"Er..." Eleanor Bishop was suddenly speechless.

"Tell me! What do you want to eat! If you don’t give me a straight answer, I’ll just eat you instead!"

"I..."

"’I’ what? Spit it out!"

"Anything is fine with me." ’They never liked the same foods. If she picked something she wanted, he definitely wouldn’t eat well.’

’So, anything was fine...’

However, Archie Lockwood didn’t understand Eleanor Bishop’s reasoning. When he heard her answer, his brow tightened in displeasure.

’She was so indecisive!’

’She couldn’t even figure out what she liked to eat!’

’Just like the rest of her personality!’

Archie Lockwood summoned a servant and ordered each of the kitchen chefs to prepare one of their signature dishes.

Half an hour later, an array of fragrant dishes began to fill the dining table.

Archie Lockwood rose from the sofa, leaned over, and swept the woman into his arms.

He carried her to the dining table, set her down in a chair, and gestured to the dishes on the table. "Try each one," he said in a cold voice, "and see which one you like."

"Huh?" ’What does he mean?’

’He wants me to try every single one?’

’Isn’t he the one who’s hungry? Why is he making me taste everything?’

Archie Lockwood’s eyebrow twitched in displeasure. "Try them!" he barked. "What are you staring blankly for? If you don’t like them, I’ll have the kitchen make a new batch of dishes."

"Oh." Eleanor Bishop picked up her chopsticks and quickly tasted each dish.

When she got to the Mapo Tofu, her brows knitted together tightly, and her expression turned awful.

Noticing Eleanor Bishop’s poor expression, Archie Lockwood asked with a hint of concern, "What’s wrong? Does it taste bad?"

"It’s not... COUGH, COUGH, COUGH..." Eleanor Bishop barely managed to get a word out before her face flushed red and she burst into a violent coughing fit.

The moment Eleanor Bishop started coughing, Archie Lockwood grew tense and quickly reached out to pat her on the back. "What’s wrong?"

"Spicy..." Eleanor Bishop coughed so hard that tears streamed down her face.

Spicy? Archie Lockwood’s gaze fell on the dish Eleanor Bishop had just tried. All he saw was red oil and a mountain of chili peppers. His handsome face instantly turned glacial. He looked up and roared at the surrounding servants, "Who made this dish! Don’t you know sick people can’t eat spicy food?"

Even after roaring, his anger hadn’t cooled. He snatched the glass of water a servant handed him and held it to Eleanor Bishop’s lips, all while still yelling at her. "Eleanor Bishop, are you a three-year-old? I tell you to try every dish, so you just obediently try every dish? If I told you to go die, why the hell wouldn’t you just go do it!"
